Happy hour is decent and their Caesar are absolutely awesome. We tried the raviolis and the fried chicken. Food was tasty, even tho it is quite pricy for little portions. I am still satisfied by their products, the location and the ambiance in the restaurant. However, and it is in all the Cactus club I have been, service is really pushy and persistent, to a point that it is annoying. It makes you feel like the server is pushing you to go, and it is not how you want your costumer to feel. Still a good place to go.

I really enjoyed this location as I found it quite accommodating. The location is right next to the English Bay. If you’re looking for great food you should pay this place a visit. In the daytime it’s a much older crowd compared to the evening when it’s more of lounge with people under 40.

Went in for a second run… great server, a little rushed though as she kept trying to take away our still half full appies within minutes, otherwise great service. Drinks — friend and I really didn’t like the happy hour drink — vodka, bellini and club soda(tasteless) — shocking I know! I think something was missing in it. Didn’t taste sour or sweet, just watered down peach water flavour. I liked the calamari but it was missing its usual fresh dill and red peppers on top, and of course the yam fries. Needed a bit more dipping sauce(only 1oz I think). Ambiance was busy on as Sunday night and great music… wish the TV’s would be turned off.

Cactus Club is always in a way a comfort food place for me. I took a couple of friends out to lunch in English Bay and figured the view would be effect for people visiting from out of town. It was raining all week and we managed to get one day that was simply spectacular so the ocean view fit the bill and didn’t disappoint. I had the Raincoast Greens which seemed to have a little bit of everything and is one of the best salads I’ve had in awhile. I would definitely go back.

I’d eaten at a different location upon visiting Vancouver before. Decided to give this one a try. The location is spectacular. Pretty much right on the beach with unobstructed views of the water. We were greeted promptly and shown quickly to our table where our server was prompt and responsive. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and I kid you not that it was probably the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in my life. It came with fries which I liked as well. The prices were moderate but not bad at all card on the location and quality of the food. I would easily come back here over and over if I lived close by. I definitely recommend this place.

I would pick a Zero rating if Unilocal could allow me to do so. This location is Terribly Poor. I have been a regular patron of Cactus Club Café for nearly 20 years. From North Vancouver, to Kelowna, to Yaletown, to Robson, and the Burrard location. These were all excellent restaurants, until I went to the Beach Avenue location this past summer. My Colleague and I were enjoying a sunny afternoon off, and enjoying some drinks at the end of the bar. We sat there relaxing for about 2 hours. We received a text message from some Colleagues from out of town who were flying in and wanted to connect for dinner. We suggested they join us at the Cactus Club at the Beach Avenue location. I walked over to the hostess and said that two of us are sitting at the Bar, and we have two more looking to join us for dinner. She said no problem, I will come over and let you know when a table comes available, but will have to wait. We said that would be great, let us know we are in no hurry. We did not hear anything, so a half-hour later we walked back to her and enquired if a table was coming available. She indicated that we had to wait outside the outdoor line-up as there was people in line waiting for a table. We asked her why she not told us that before. We continued to wait over at the bar, then a rude server came over and said if you want a table you need to leave the bar and go and wait outside. We said to her, we are happy to wait here, we will sit at the bar(wait our turn) and when a table comes up, feel free to seat us. We were embarrassed by the server as the message that was delivered was loud enough for all the surrounding patrons to clearly hear. She went back to the hostess, and then came back to us saying the original hostess made a mistake. We should have been told not to wait at the bar, we should have been told to wait outside at the back of the line-up. Our friends just landed at the floatplane base downtown and texted they are on their way shortly, we texted them back and said we are still waiting for a table, perhaps we should go somewhere else. As we settled up our bill with the awesome bartender, we asked to speak with the manager who was in charge. A few minutes later, the manager in charge came over, and we explained what happened. The manager was rude, and cut me off repeatedly. very unprofessional. That was it «I WILLNEVERGOTOANYCACTUSCLUBLOCATIONAGAINEVER!»

Food here is pretty good. Came here for happy hour. They have decent deals on drinks. A vodka soda with peach belini is $ 3.50. Yam fries are awesome, definitely a great appetizer. The service here was just okay. Waitress had a little bit of an attitude when we weren’t ordering a ton of good or booze. I would definitely come back here, the location is great and the food is pretty tasty.

Perfect date spot. The vibe is not snobby, but certainly«nicer». The view of the water here is stellar. This doesn’t matter, but the servers all looked like they modeled on the side, and were very friendly. Their drinks were great and the selection was nice and varied. Food wise I was very happy. It’s not a place I’ll brag about, but the overall experience makes it that I will certainly be back soon!

Voila Cactus! I like the atmosphere and feel of the house, sangria is the best so far in Vancouver, the food is ok. I had chicken wrap for starter which was very sweet but fine But when my main«chicken teriyaki«arrived …no more fine! Basically they both are same just the chicken wrap comes with lettuce and the chicken teriyaki with more garnish which is super sweet!!! I totally hate that plate! Sweet deserts yes but sweet chicken!!! I feel I need 2 insulin shuts before I get blind! Or never order this combo: chicken wrap+ chicken teriyaki + 2 sangria = your sugar may get you blind this time!!! Terrible experience!

Came here for a Birthday celebration. The view and location are amazing, service was great as well, the only problem was the food, we were a table of 10 and nobody was impressed with their meals. I couldn’t believe my Tasteless hamburger and boring salad. It is s shame, but I just would come back for the view definitely not for their meals.

Ironchef Robert Finney launched 3 restaurants in Vancouver BC. We lunched at English Bay with spectacular ocean bay views. Situated along the beach trail this place is very contemporay design with 2 stores of all glass looking onto the bay. There is an outdoor patio fro those warm sunny days. On a rainy day we were cozy inside enjoying the baja tacos with shredded cabbage, fire roasted salsa and smoky aioli. The quinoa salad with arugula and toasted pecans, snap peas, raisins, cheery tomatoes and sherry vinaigrette dressing was very good.

I came here last night. The atmosphere is very dynamic with pumped up music, flamed heaters and exquisite service. The location is perfect if you want to be close to the beautiful beach. Even though the sour apple Martini was not on the menu, our waitress said she can get one for me and it was strong and quite delish! I ordered the Sirloin steak with sauted mushrooms. The sauce was a bit too heavy for me, but overall my meal was cooked well and tasted good.

Street parking around the area. Great location. If you go down to the beach you can sit on the back patio and watch the people go by or the sun set. The customer service was good, friendly. Appetizers seem to be the secret here. We had the ravioli + prawn trio and it was sooooo good. You only get 3 in the appey, but the flavors were awesome. Highly recommend!!! Baja fish tacos: good fish, love the finally shredded cabbage. Didn’t care for the chipotle salsa. The guacamole isn’t worth the extra charge, you only get a spoonful. The secret to these is to add the pickled onions into the taco, that made it tasty. Good to split with someone. Grilled tuna club: kinda bland, good ingredients, but had better for less elsewhere Yam fries were good. You’ll have to ask for more of the delicious dill garlic dipping sauce they don’t give you enough Drinks: Dirty Vegas — was tasty like sugar and fresh strawberry juice mixed. Good mix, but could only have one they are pretty sweet. The Brazilian — the first was made perfectly, loved the kiwi flavor. The 2nd was a bit heavy on the soda Even though they were really busy we didn’t feel pressured to order or to finish and move on. Had the same or better food for less elsewhere, but the location is what makes this worthwhile.

I loved this place. The food was great. The vibe is awesome. Great music selection. It is a very hip spot to catch a cocktail, eat some appies, and watch the sunset with some friends. Love the contemporary feel of the place.

In Vancouver for the day my friends and I were walking along the English Bay when we came across Cactus Club Café. It was 5 o clock somewhere so we stopped by for some cocktails(in my case mocktails because I’m expecting). We were seated within a few minutes. The décor at Cactus Club is chic and modern. I really like the way the restrooms are designed. The Sangria seems to be the most popular dink there because we saw many people with them. One of my friends ordered one and said it was easily the best Sangria she’s ever had. She also had a Bellini which she really enjoyed. My other friend and I were going non-alcoholic so we asked the waitress for suggestions and she recommended the virgin Cohiba(mojito). We both enjoyed it. I asked for some water in between rounds and it took about 20 minutes to come. The waitress said it’s because they ran out of water glasses. My response to that was a blank stare… All in all the drinks were good but the service was meh. We didn’t try the food but what we saw coming out looked pretty good.

I’m a sucker for Cactus Club, especially one right on the beach! Cactus has consistently good service, even if the food is sometimes mediocre. Recently came with a party of 7, and our dining experience was pretty impeccable. Couldn’t stop staring at the water and mountains. Free 2-hr parking all along Beach Ave. It’s a chain yes, but that’s exactly what makes it predictably good: friendly, professional service; awesome music(go to hear all the throwback songs you’ve forgotten how much you love); and reasonable prices at around $ 35/person. 5 stars!

Location, location, location! We were walking along the sea wall and came upon this place along English Bay. There was a very short wait for a Wednesday evening around 6:30PM. We were seated in a booth at the back as we requested to sit inside. The server was friendly but she forget a few things such as bringing certain drinks to the table and she did remember but it was a while later. When she did bring my cup, it had a lipstick stain on it, maybe their dishwasher was broken that night. I had the cajun chicken sandwich with fries. There was a hint of spice to it and ok for me who can’t handle spicy foods. There gave a lot of fries which I could share with my table mates. We took our time enjoying our meal and chatting. Our friend also ordered us desserts to celebrate birthdays. The chocolate lava cake and chocolate peanut butter bar crunch. They were both served with ice cream. I liked the peanut butter bar dessert as it wasn’t too rich but the chocolate and peanut butter were a great combo! The washrooms are individual rooms for men or women to use. It was like an airplane bathroom but bigger with a sign asking customers to wipe the sink as a courtesy for the next user. The one I used was messy with napkins but clean otherwise. Love the location, food alright, and great place to hang out with friends.

A very good meal with a great water view. We timed our reservation to get the sundown view and weren’t dis appointed. Good service. Casual and not pretentious. Between the four of us we had two steaks which were flavourful and well appreciated. Also had two orders of the fish tacos. A good variety of ingredients included and served on a plate so you can build your own. Ended with a key lime pie which gets very high points. As good as Key West. They use whipped cream which is quite acceptable. There is a debate between meringue and whipped cream. I’ve come to accept that both are traditional and acceptable and so the combination of lime filling, graham cracker crust and a small dollop of whipped cream gives it a 9 out of 10. We actually were here yesterday for lunch. Enjoyed the chicken lettuce wrap and war wonton soup. Nice atmosphere and vib with a lot of chatter and happy people. What else can you ask for?

Great location, especially in the summertime to creep the people on the beach while you eat… Overpriced, but that’s typical of chain restaurants. I’m a fan of the sablefish and prawn ravioli.
