This is my neighborhood pub, so I have quite a bit of experience here. The menu (pub food but decent diversity) and food quality are both good. The bartenders and servers are young but friendly and attentive. The venue is warm and welcoming. My beef with Browns is their draught beer selection. It’s all macro brews masquerading as micro brews. With so many excellent local brews around it’s a tragedy they continue to serve the watery, bland swill that they do. Come on guys, really …

Went here for the first time last night with my parents. Very nice casual atmosphere. Tvs by the bar to watch football games too. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had a ‘social drink’ and it was delicious. I can’t remember exactly what was in it but there was soda with a splash of Bellini. Very tasty. I had the chicken bacon ranch burger on a brioche bun and it was sooooo good! I recommend it to anyone.

Went there yesterday.
The servers were more concerned about bundling cutlery that serving, considering how quiet it was in there I’m surprised by the poor service.
Two of us had burgers with fries, they were ‘fine’, not ‘good’; the fries weren’t cold, the were about body-​temperature.
To summarize: the service was poor and the food ruined by bad attention to detail.
On a side note: i visit the Browns on Upper Lonsdale more often and all that is bad with the W10 Browns is not it the case at Lonsdale (ie the manager at W10 needs to be fired).

Great food, fun atmosphere, friendly staff. Their salads are top-​notch and their halibut burger is incredible. If you’re wanting booze, their martinis are creative and yummy, their social draft beer and wine is great for the price, but avoid their watery Caesars.

very approachable menu, trendy but not overly pretentious.
Casual atmosphere, everyone from the owner to the kitchen staff, tries to know your name.
Even if they can’t quite manage it, they’ll still be glad you came.
Sit at the bar and the staff will likely join in as they get off shift.

I like swinging by here for a social soda, but they could use a few more vegetarian options. For the price, $ 14.25, they should load up the vegi burger with more than a tomato slice and a piece of lettuce. Ie: avocado, grilled onion etc. friendly staff and management.

New to Vancouver, but it’s a great place in a great neighborhood. We’ve been here after cycle spin classes, after work, etc. Nice atmosphere, great staff, quick service but they don’t rush you. But best of all the food. The salads are great (though the chicken could be a little less browned at times for my taste). The Tuna Stack is amazing! The pizza is great! The «Social» wine and ale is good for the price. It’s become our «local.» We’re looking forward to summer and the outdoor tables with heat lamps in the long evenings. And, John the owner is nice and friendly!

Not a bad place on a rainy day when your friends who live in Dunbar won’t drive very far; it’s still better than what you’d find there.
The place gets packed even on a rainy weekday from 4 pm onwards. The service was quite friendly and prompt. Although the parking clearly states that you can only park for 30 minutes, the server mentioned that you «just can’t park there overnight.» I was there for approx. 2 hours and it was fine. I didn’t feel like eating anything, but I’m sure that it’s the same as any Browns or Cats and would be fine, overall.
The vibe was lively and welcomed the locals. I don’t know of any other place in this vicinity suitable for when you just want a quick drink, so this is the place to go.

A friend and I came here late one Friday after work for a late-​late happy hour. The place was unexpectedly packed, so we sat at the bar. Drinks were fast and well-​made and the service was entertaining and friendly (and good looking). Pretty standard sports bar, but better than some other locations of this chain that I have visited.

we pleasantly surprised by our breakfast today. this was a quick choice after our fiasco of walking out of Sunshine Diner without eating or paying. Cat our server was great and while the choices are limited both of our dishes, the corned beef hash and the Petit Salad /​poached eggs were delish!
I would go back again and will to try the $ 4 wine and beer they offer all week. Can’t pass up a deal what with prices being what they are these days

This place is just like all the other chain-​style Earl’s, Milestones and Cactus Club joints out there. Good enough for those times when you’re not quite sure where else to go, but you just want to get out there kind of place.
The food is good enough and there is lots of beer and alcohol. And, of course the waitresses are pretty too, which equals nice eye candy for my guy friends.
Good neutral ambiance as well for business power lunches.

Good specials and the food is generally good. They seem to have been sneaking the prices up a bit over the past 6 months. The staff are always great and the patio is a nice place when it is warm.
We never plan on going to Brown’s, we just end up walking by and then going in for lunch.

Yawn. Yet another Cactus Club/​Milestones/​Earls spewed from the mill of generic chain restaurant mediocrity. The décor although pleasant, is completely forgettable; as is the service, menu options and food itself. The parking situation is quite tragic as well, sharing about 12 spaces with 5 other businesses. Why it received 2 stars instead of 1 is because on my way in I spotted a falafel place a couple of doors over which smelled REALLY good which I would like to try so my trip to Brown’s wasn’t a complete waste. With so many really good food and drink options in the vicinity I wouldn’t bother.

Maybe I’m just getting old with kids, but any night out with just my wife seems to be great, so my judgment could be clouded.
Food is decent and staff is very friendly. The restaurant has a modern interior with TVs strategically placed. Nothing sticks out as great and I don’t crave anything here, but we haven’t had a bad dish or experience. If this place was a closer to our home in Dunbar, I think it would be a good neighborhood bar (despite being a chain.)
Only been there a few times, but only had positive experiences which in my mind deserves the 4th star.

Average. Overcrowded. Noisy. Modern. Bustling commercial restaurant, in an underserviced area. Would go again with friends. If I was under-​25, it would be a great date-​night venue… but with my super-​busy schedule, a quieter, more serene environment would have been better appreciated.
