Best Value Markets

This place has decent produce, well organized and fair prices. It is small and selection is limited due to space but you do get the essentials in a pinch which is important.

Decent place to get your basic groceries, nothing else closer other than Fraser/​Kingsway or the Safeway by Commercial Drive.
It’s good for me when I need a quick place to get some snacks.

I love the little grocery stores of East Van!
Every other market or grocery store in the neighborhood sells bean sprouts by the GIANT bag! Who uses this many bean sprouts at a time? Thank you, Best Value for letting me buy them a handful at a time so they don’t rot in my fridge in between making meals for 1 – 2 people.
Besides the sad lack of tofu for sale, this place has everything else I need to make a huge stir fry to then eat every day for the rest of the week — a reasonable and fresh variety of veggies.
They also have noodles, avocados, and random fruits, like the occasional persimmon and usually some kind of citrus fruit. Everything is very reasonably priced, and they even have Vietnamese baguettes most of the time!
