Messy store owned by a cookie man, that doesn’t sound very enticing, does it? However, the owner knows his stuff and he knows where everything is! I love it. I can ask him anything, if he doesn’t have it, he knows who does. I have bought some amazing stones the and he always writes down what they are so I don’t forget. He also has stones in the back so if you are looking for something specific, ask because chances are he has them!

This is the place where I get some of the secret ingredients I use in my essential oil products. The quality is amazing and the personal assistance is worth the visit. I’m so glad this wonderful place exists.

A hidden ‘gem’ of a shop with all things mineral and semi-precious stones. Laid out like Aladdin’s cave the knowledgeable shop owner or staff will assist you in finding the treasures you are seeking. More rea$onable pricing than other local beading and gem retailers.

Yvonne and Brian are the best! I love this treasure hunt of a store and they are so helpful and knowledgable. This store has a great energy and is always busy! I’m a regular and every time I enter I find something new!

After eating at the Naam with my partner we decided to take a peek at the stones here, despite being about 400% overpriced(I have been to places with greater selection and better prices). This was not my first time here, nor my second, nor my third. I can’t count how many times I have stepped foot in this store. My partner and I walked in, and it didn’t really bother me too much, but the person at the desk did not say hello. He was talking to a couple who were asking about or purchasing stones. We walked around and my partner came across a big stone which he grazed gently with his fingers, careful not to disturb it too much as it was sitting on a shelf and didn’t want to knock it over. He said to me «This feels so nice. Feel it!» and as I reached my hand out I hear the man at the counter yell«Leave that alone!» I was so startled, and the man was so rude that my partner commented on how they are stones that come from the earth and he should be able to touch it if he wants, especially in a store selling stones. The man at the counter, nearly shaking with anger(not sure why this made him so upset) yelled«There are three things in here not for sale, that one that one and that one!» He pointed vaguely into different corners. I said to him, «I’m sorry, we didn’t know. There are no signs reading ‘Do Not Touch’ so we figured it would be okay.» and my partner said«Why are you treating us like we are children?» The man seemed to ignore me and said to my partner«I don’t come in your house and play with your wife!» WHAT!!! My partner started to say«This is a store, my house is not a store…» and I said to the man«Excuse me, what did you just say?» Knowing he said something beyond completely out of line, and if I were not in a store he would meet my fist… he said«I don’t come into your house and touch your things!» Reminder, this is a store with no signs reading«Do Not Touch» or «Not for Sale.» I said«That is NOT what you said! You are fucked up! You are so rude!» To which he replied«Yes, sorry, I’M rude» I was shaking with rage as I grabbed my partner and dragged him out the door while yelling«Fuck you, asshole!» A house is NOT a store with items for sale, a sign in the front and a business name and I(the wife) am NOT an object to «play» with. This man must have decided he didn’t like the way we looked or something and thought it would be okay to treat us this way. No way. Completely unprofessional. If anyone believes in crystals holding energy, DONOT go here, this man is full of nasty energy. My partner used to live above the store and witnessed fits of rage thrown by this man in the past. Ugh.

LOTS of selections of stones in different species, price ranges and designs. The store is small, however, well organized. Amazing customer service. I picked up a few polished stones for crystal work.

I’m a bit of a rock hound. I’d much prefer a pretty stone over a precious gem any day. I’m not into the New Agie beliefs about these crystals and ’ vortexes’ and ‘chakras’ …I just know that I think moonstones, for example, are pretty. I am looking for a pretty lapis next. You’ll find raw stones, ready to wear things or the owner can drill a hole and you can take gems home with you to make your own unique, personal jewelry.

This local Kitsilano shop is(no pun intended) a real gem. I travel for work and in every city I go to I make an effort to go into every gem and mineral shop I find. I have never found such an incredible gem store ever before! Never before have I seen such a collection of stones outside of a museum. Not only is the owner and his daughter two of the nicest people you could ever want to meet they are really really know their stones. They can tell you the properties of hundreds of stones! They also are passionate about what they do and it shows. I consider myself very fortunate that my travels have taken me here to Vancouver so that I may have had the privilege of going to Amethyst Creations.

The hand-painted sign didn’t really pull me in, but it should signify that this is a small shop, locally owned, by people who are interested in gems, and in particular amethyst. They have a pretty wide array of gems and stones. It’s definitely intriguing to browse around, and the staff was very friendly and nice. Some big pieces of stone were said to have healing qualities. Some little stones would be great picks for jewelry. A nice place, you might find a gift for that cooky aunt that no one understands!
