The falafel is so good at this place like all other All Basha places that I have been. We tried baclava and it was also really good. The hummus tasted a bit weird though. The seats and tables are cheap. The toilets are dirty. And you should not expect a very good service from them. It’s mostly self-service.

Really good food! I had the chicken shawarma plate, lj had the beef lovers. The gentleman cooking was very efficient and friendly. I will come here again!

Update: I am a person who really loves donairs and have eaten donairs in my travels around North America. Now I have? owner/owner’s friend accusing me of writing reviews for another donair restaurant. This proves how great the customer service is. Someone took the effort to personally send a message of accusations rather than address issues with the business. PS for anyone interested in donairs. Please read all my previous reviews on various donair restaurants in the Lower Mainland. I am not affiliated with any restaurant to start with. I just want to share my food adventures with all fellow Unilocalers.

One of several falafel and shawarma options along the Drive. Parking is available on the side streets. The inside is quite beaten up. There are maybe 10 seats, but your best bet is to go for take-out. Staff are very friendly, but quite slow. It took over 10 minutes to make my order. However, you can see them working hard. The food here is not mass produced. They actually have to assemble each combo. For $ 9, the food here is very filling. Generous portions, and great taste. Exceeded all of my expectations.

‘Al basha’ is a revered name in the Vancouver shawarma world. Well at least the Broadway location is, this one however is not. It’s funny I think I actually remember this location actually being decent years ago. Now, the other comments are accurate, the place itself is pretty dirty. Late night, it doesn’t matter so much I guess, but in the day you really see it. It’s nice that they’ll supplement your wrap with Fallafels for a $ 1/Fallafel. The wrap I had was quite messy and the pita pretty much in shreds. The worker there was nice, but service was just terrible. Told me to wait outside and they’d call me, but never did. When I finally clued in, the Fafllafel which they made to order, was not fresh anymore. Stick with the pountine I guess or head up to Babylon up the street.

I wanted to like this place because the employees are nice and it’s close to my place, but it is seriously dissappointing. I ordered a chicken schwarma with taziki and garlic sauce. I couldn’t taste a drop of either sauce. The lettuce and tomatoes were barely there, and soggy. All I could taste out of the vegetables were the onions, which were sliced huge. The chicken was dry and tasteless. The pita bread itself was tasteless and falling apart. Won’t be back.

From the restaurant to the garbage! I’m serious! The food was gross, the restaurant was discussing. It’s one store and three businesses share that store. I ordered falafel plate and checkin donair, the falafel plate was messy, humus on falafel mixed with green salad. The only thing we could eat it is the hummos, not good but was at least acceptable. The lady who works there let her son and his girl friend to set in the kitchen area which is very small, and they were playing and throwing their stuff and making me uncomfortable to watch them around my food being cocked. I’m not sure where are the environmental inspections? The restaurant is really discussing and unclean.

Gah, this is some terrible stuff. We were feeling very under the weather and pushed through a Christmas brunch with the family. By the time dinner time rolled around, we were hungry without any desire to cook anything. I just wanted some hot and sour soup, but surprisingly many chinese restaurants were closed(damn you, Chongqing!!!). We settled on ordering All Basha through which was another debacle all on its own, but oh the food that arrived was so much worse than the idiot driver that got lost for half an hour looking for our house in the centre of the city. Falafel balls, rock hard dripping with oil, homous, chalky bland paste, dolmades, fried(what?!?), chewy, impossible to bite through with undistinguishable fillings, tabuleh with no bulgar, just a pile of garnish, chicken shawarma was a bunch of tiny shards of meat like they scraped them off the bottom of the oven after they took the actual hunk of meat off the rotisserie. After almost fourty bucks before tips for three people, some of the worst food I have ever had anywhere. Merry Christmas to me!

I ordered two beef donairs and a chicken shawarma plate. It was delivery and took an hour like they said. The donairs were ok, nothing spectacular. The meat wasn’t seasoned that well. The lettuce and tomatos were cut thick. The shawarma plate was really bad. All it had was a burnt taste of the meat drippings and the undercooked, brown rice they used. I like my rice firm and dry but this was not done at all. I haven’t seen this done at other places but they dumped all the drippings from the bottom of the spit. The rice was entirely coated in the smoky drippings. There was some other sauce lined on top and I’m guessing it was tahini but I could not taste it all because all I had in my mouth was husk and ashes. Turkish and Mediterranean fast food /falafel joints are my go to food when I’m lucky enough to be a tourist so I’ve had a fair share of it. And there are a lot of good places across the Lower Mainland. This is one of the worst places I’ve tried.

New one just opened up to replace the old Taste of Paradise, basically it’s the same food, but much more nicer, cleaner & better food. Chicken shawarma for just $ 5.50?! Their other location on West Broadway gotta be over $ 8, same owner too… guess cheaper rent says it all. But the hummus sauce was deleesh, home-made as saw another worker prepare it, as they sell this separately too. Pita bread fresh as well. It’s more of an open kitchen concept, new menu boards that clearly outline just 6 items, easy to order. Plus they will be doing delivery soon, too. Definite repeat to come here for nice, affordable comfort food. Plenty of metered parking, though rush hour restrictions 3−6pm.
