First time writing a review for nightclub. Came here for my girlfriends cousins birthday and the people here are complete trash. As soon as I walked in all I can smell is vomit. Girls in almost every corner puking and security was standing right there and did nothing. I had 3 guys try to grind on me not even a half hour being, and one grabbed my face and tried to plant one on me! If you want to get shit faced wasted and have a 1 night Stand with a total stranger then this is the place to go!

Absolutely horrible, I would honestly rather go to Bar 224 than this«upscale» Place. Horrible dubstep music only paused for a random electric violin performance, the whole club smelled slightly of piss, and the people at coat check were rude and almost lost my friend’s bag. Also, they didn’t let us in until we bribed the security $ 5 per head, so much for ladies going in free before 11. Honestly, you’re better off going to a bar and getting a drink there, at least you’ll be coming out a lot cleaner than when I left this place. We are NEVEREVEREVER getting back together Tryst, EVER

Trashy trashy trashy. This club is a mess. From the photos and outside, you’d be like«damn, seems like a cool club!» but when you go in… nope! I went here for a school event so idk how much the normal cover price is, but $ 20?!(based on reviews) …Yeah, too much. Hop over next door to aria and pay $ 10 – 15. When you go in, it looks pretty cool — great black lights, clean etc. We had a booth, which was actually a room in the corner. Pretty dope– no creepers can get in. The DJ was NOT good, most of his songs were horrible, remixed really badly and all of a sudden, the music completely stopped for a shoutout or something. Ummmm. no. I don’t care if it’s jennifer’s birthday. you keep the music playing no matter what. It’s a club, not just a party for fucking Jennifer.(Sorry Jennifer, if you’re reading this) The worst part of the club is the crowd– the entire dance floor is blocked up and walking through is horrendous. There are people are both sides, sitting up on the walls reaching their hands down to grab you as you walk. Am I in a horror movie or something? Douchebag level is HIGH in this club– people grab and thrust with no warning. The guys here must’ve been deprived from life because they will literally rub with anything that moves. Quite lovely seeing one big girl being passed around with 6 guys in the span of 2 songs. really? I will never go to this club again, because… no.

Went on Saturday night. It was my first time going to tryst and will be my last time. For 20 bucks. I expected to have a great time after reading a lot of positive reviews. What I got instead was the bouncer who accused me of having something in my bra. And actually went into my cup to see If I was hidding something. I really don’t understand how I could store a weapon or a bottle of booze or anything in my bra. The way she was making a huge deal out of it. I’m an average sized girl with big boobs so obviously for some people it’s a surprise when It really is just my boobs in my bra. That was the first turn off for me. The second was we had ordered about 3 or 4 drinks each throughout the night and on obviously, If your in a club your going to be hot and thirsty. When we asked the bar tender for water. She brought one of us a water and when I asked for one for myself she was really rude and was rolling her eyes. And said«I’m just not use to giving out free drinks». I’m sorry but water? Is a basic right. And to say that is completely uncalled for considering the fact that we ordered drinks previously. The music was really terrible. There were times when people just stopped for a moment to be like wtf? There was no transitions, it was honestly as if the dj was playing his iPod on shuffle. the only good thing was I liked the venue and there was a lot of room. Would I ever go back? Hell no. Maybe if it was free and I was completely trashed and had no taste in music.

Loved this place!!! I was here for New Years! One of my best friends works here so we got special treatment lol! We got bottle service and our own booth. Added bonus, I had the best night of my life! The crowd is a mix which was really good, classy and versatile. The music was awesome and the best part of any night is meeting someone you click with lol! Everything was perfect! Couldn’t ask for a more amazing New Years! So yeah I basically love love LOOVVVEEEEE this place!!!

Decided to check this place out. Came on a Saturday — it was moderately full but there wasn’t much of a wait. We were on guest list, but they refused to give us the waived cover even though it was way before midnight. Falsssseee advertisinggg. The club looks amazing on the website but in real life it just looked dark. The music was top 40. Could have been a DJ or it could have been the radio, it sounded the same. The dance floor is a weird, long rectangle and there doesn’t really seem to be much room for dancing at all. Overall, the club is just a little cramped, not because of too many people, but more because of bad structural planning. Weak lights meant I couldn’t see the guys trying to creep on us properly. CREEPERWARNING. This club is filllllllled with creepy guys who will just walk up behind you and try to groin rub dance on you. No thanks. The crowd seemed to be comprised of single lurker guys and high school girls. This one guy started following us around the club — he followed us to the bathroom, and was waiting outside when we came out. Ekkkkkkkk.

Solid OK. Music: They seem to play whatever’s popular, nothing niche or anything like that. Dance floor: It’s a long narrow rectangle in the middle of the main floor, so we prepared for a highway down the middle of people walking from one end to the other. Upstairs is small and usually has a private party going on, but when it doesn’t it plays a different style of music(depending on who’s DJ’ing sometimes it’s better/worse than downstairs). Clientele: Kind of a bit on the douchy side, but there’s a mixed variety here, and it really depends on the night(if there’s a special event going on for example). Patio: I’ve gotta admit their patio is amazing. It was decent before, but they’ve renovated and now it’s just massive. It’s big enough i can go out there to relax and get a break from the dance floor; even as a non-smoker i barely notice that everyone is smoking. If i was only rating their patio they’d get 5⁄5. Dress code: you can get in with pretty much anything if you’re not too drunk, judging by all the graphic tee’s. They sometimes restrict sneakers(if they’re busy) but mostly they don’t care if you can afford the $ 20 cover. If you’re in a blazer you’ll be the best dressed person in there. Bottle service: the one time we got bottle service here we had a blast until we went to go dance. We left our half-finished bottle with the bartender, and when we returned to claim it they told us it had been finished when we dropped it off. With a group of drunk guys i suppose it’s possible, but we all agreed that there was definitely SOMETHING left in our bottle when we dropped it off.

Please Unilocal don’t delete this post, because its a review about a nightclub. and what happens in nightclubs are not things everyone can appreciate, or find tasteful or «PC». God know who still gives a f^*# about that nowadays. Tryst. The name itself explains everything, and the name doesn’t disappoint. I’ve been here countless times before my Toronto nightclub boycott which began in(silent) protest of sheer dullness of the city’s party scene. The most memorable has to be either NYE2008, or the time some girl forgot her ID at Bier Markt(thank God), so I had to pull some strings and get us a VIP table for the entire party at Tryst. You’re freaking welcome. The reason why these two are the most memorable is because these two are the most I can remember. NYE was perhaps the most I’ve ever been hooked up in a Toronto nightclub. My boy Romeo knows some guy named Rob, who is this super nice guy, and somehow is connected to the owner. Thus, we had an improvised VIP section at the club floor which was equivalent to an acre in dance floor terms. ALLTHEBOOZE&CHAMPAGNEYOUCOULDGORGEONFORTHEENTIRENIGHT! I was… not that hammered actually because I kept me and my buddy busy hitting on every chick at the club. «Yo, you wanna come to the owner’s booth?» That’s all we said, and we went through the women at the night that night like toilet paper. When I was refilling, I saw this familiar face(actually body), and it turned out to be this Korean girl who was roommates at the time with another friend of mine. I can’t use either of their names because that Korean girl is married now, and that’s as discrete as I’m gonna get. I grabbed her off of the dance floor in front of the guy and girl friend she was with, and walked her straight into my booth. her other friends looked shocked because they were friends with the the Korean girl’s boyfriend. I fed Korean girl more champagne than she ever in her lifetime. We made out, there was dry humping, and then a few other things. An hour later, she had to leave with her friends who was obviously very upset with me. So I gave Korean girl a big long kiss on the mouth in front of them, and gave her a slap on the *ahem* before sending her on her way. I will never forget the appalled looks on her friends’ faces. When I went to find Romeo, he was hitting on this girl who was totally down, but her fat friend kept cock blocking. Romeo was so drunk, he eventually ended up grabbing the fat chick, slamming her on the wall, and… starting making out with her… This guy was sooooo drunk, but he was getting action. The skinnier girl is now totally pissed and she just stormed off in a fit of jealousy. The fat chick was totally taken off guard, and now glad to be getting some action herself. I should have been the friend and pulled Romeo off of her straight away, but it was so funny I just let it happen. That was NYE, or at least the most I can reveal. The time when I came here with the group, we ended up in a VIP room completely separated from the rest of the club. We had like three girls pouring us drinks and basically acting as temporary girlfriends. It didn’t cost us a penny. So pretty much, when I did come here, I never saw the main dance floor or the bar. But the service was as good as it gets in Toronto. The women has pretty decent, the douchebag factor was low, the crowd is generally mixed and friendly. I wish I could tell you how much this place costs, but I can’t. The music was good though, not too much hip hop. I came here a few times after, but I’m an young adult now, and stories told stick. It’s still pretty buzzing, and generally everything is the same. Good service = good times. Tryst has got a good handle on that. If you are looking for a place to cheat on your girlfriend, or finding cheating girlfriends, Tryst is the capital venue.

The music was super fun, with different music upstairs and downstairs so that was cool. One of the bartenders at the bar downstairs made us a really fun surprise drink, as we told him to pick whatever he wanted, and that was really cool that he played ball with us on that. Also, a friend of mine had a bit of an accident and tripped in front of one of the managers, and he was extremely kind and gave us each a free drink ticket. So that was awesome. When I went to use my drink ticket(at the patio bar outside), we ordered 3 drinks, totaling $ 28, and I asked if I could use my drink ticket for one of the three. He said«yes, but you’ll have to give a couple bucks still». He ended up taking my free drink ticket along with $ 26 dollars. It was a manager-approved drink stub, I could have easily saved that for a beer later and just dished out another two bucks to pay for our drinks at full price. it took him a long time to serve us(i get that it’s Saturday and it’s busy, so I’m not as annoyed by this) but he also watered down our shot(we noticed, but thought maaybe he was just doing it to chill the shot or something. it was literally half water). Why. Also, I know I shouldn’t fault the establishment necessarily for this, but the crowd was awful, and by that I mean extremely disrespectful. I was grabbed, while simply walking through the club. Three times in two hours, and even slapped on the butt by a man walking by while I was walking out to the patio. On the dance floor, I was dancing with one other female friend and positioned myself against a corner so as not to give off any sort of flirty vibe, and a guy grabbed me by the hips and turned me around, didn’t even make eye contact before hand, I swatted him away and he looked at me like I was overreacting. do not touch me if you don’t know me. do not put your hands on my thighs if you don’t even say hello. I go to lots of concerts, I have seen my share of clubs, and this was insane, insane behavior(it wasn’t even 1 by the time most of this had gone down). I wasn’t drunk, I wasn’t wearing anything revealing(no cleavage, loose, opaque shirt; mid-thigh skirt with tights), and I did not give indication to any of the men who did this that I was even acknowledging them. Will I go back? No. But the manager and the music were good, so it gets 2 stars for that.

Decided to go here after reading some good reviews and deciding to show my visiting Brit friends a good(expensive) send off So after calling the club and speaking with a ‘Dominic’ and ‘Jerome’ a few times I decided to arrange bottle service for 12 guests — asked for room for 12 people — specifically asked for an area in the main room — was ensured we would not have to wait in lines as it was the 4th anniversary and would be busy In reality what happened was PRO — thankfully no waiting in lines we were shown right in although I do have a problem with being asked for the money before we are even shown our area and in front of the rest of the punters in line CON — taken to high table(no seating) in the main room and told this was our area, after arguing that when I request a booth i expect a booth not just a table near the bar — taken to the smaller dance room and given a table which looked like it had been reserved for a birthday party(balloons etc) — after deciding we would stick in this room as was more intimate at least and not as busy as the main I paid up $ 410 for two bottles and a champagne bottle — i was then given 6 wristbands and told that it is 3 per bottle and you can only re-enter the area with it. Asked to speak to someone like a manager as i was not happy that I had more than 6 guests but was only told of this wristband rubbish after paying even though I did not originally ask for a table in the small room. As it turned out the wrist bands were not really needed for my female friends as they were never checked, so us guys kept one in case the security decided to check. Onwards in the night from what I remember the small room never filled up but it was still good fun just because of having my friends there BUT further on in the night when we had finished most the drinks I asked the security whether it be okay if we take our remaining drinks down to the main room so we could enjoy the non-house music. After being told this would cost $ 40 I refused through principle and we saw out our night in the small room. The club has a great patio area, the main room by the time I actually took a walk around there it was all a blur but my friends who did go and dance there said it was what we Brits called ‘Chavvy’ on one half then bottle service crowd on the other. However the small room does play some cool house music and it does have mainly women in there(due to security allowing them in). Would not rush back to this club anytime soon however and if anyone is going to book bottle service in the future then DONOT pay up until you have exactly what you want. Definitely do not pay the clipboard dude at the front as once your in they would not call a manager for you if requested or the ‘Dominic’ or ‘Jerome’ who i spoke with on the phone. Was even told at one stage they don’t know anyone by those names Pfff!

This place is not a complete disaster — just a wasted night. I’ve been here twice, the second time because I was with an organization. The first time I came with friends and it was an extremely awkward room semi-populated with shabbily dressed randoms. Dancing was sporadic and in distanced clusters. Overall an awkward night. The second time I came it was packed for an event, but the set-up condemns any event to feel lame and off-beat. Booths/chairs are set up along the walls of the room, fenced off from a narrow pit in the middle that serves as the dance floor. This pit is difficult to navigate, easy to lose people in, and has some anti-diva effect that makes you feel like a rat in a cage being observed from above. Overall, not a good time. You can walk the extra couple blocks for a much better night.

It was my first time at Tryst with a group of friends. We travelled from out of town to have a fun night in Toronto. I enjoyed dancing at the club but we had quite a shock from a female bartender after ordering our first drinks. I saw in Google reviews that the same female bartender that harassed«Irada» and her friends in September 2011 was still working there and continued to do the same to my friend last night. My friend had ordered 3 drinks($ 7 each) and pulled $ 21 out of her purse to give to the bartender. As my friend was pulling out some more money to tip the bartender, the bartender yelled at her«tip your bartender!!!» while placing the drinks down in front of her. We were all really surprised by this woman’s rudeness. We had no interest in being served by this woman again and some of us decided not to buy drinks at Tryst at all for the rest of the night. This woman needs to be fired for her behaviour toward guests of the night club. She was in the same location as described by the Google reviewer(i.e., down the stairs at the bar on the right) and the bartender has long, straight dark hair, looks to be of East Indian background, late 20s/early 30s. I will be sending a complaint to the night club about this treatment.

I celebrated my 22nd birthday at Tryst last night and I had an amazing time! This was the first time that I have gotten bottle service. Tryst would’ve gotten 5 full stars but the service prior to entering wasn’t the greatest. We had to line up outside although we got bottle service. When we entered, the promoter who I talked to said it would be $ 260 but they said it’s actually $ 270. Also, the promoter said they were going to let 10 people in without cover but they only let in 6 free. Other than that I had a pretty good night!

This place is one of my favourite clubs in Toronto, but be prepared, it is one of the more popular and expensive ones. The lines get huge so I really urge you to get there early, like before 11:30, even though that’s lame. They often keep people outside to make everyone pay more cover, which is usually $ 20, but is also usually worth it. Last time I went, it was freezing cold outside, and they made us wait for a whole hour even though we were on guestlist. Plus, when we got in, coat check was full! Luckily, we were meeting friends who had a booth so we threw them there, but without that we basically would have been screwed, they didn’t even tell us coat check was full until after we paid. Once you get into the club though, you forget all that annoying crap and leave it all at the door. if you pre-drank enough(drinks are $ 5 – 7 for bar rail, depending on the night). The music is always great and unlike it is at most other clubs: mostly house electro and rarely top 40. There are also 2 rooms to choose from, and a completely heated patio for smoking. The crowd is sometimes odd, but that generally doesn’t concern me. but from observation, this is not the place to pick up dates(no underage Woodbridge girls to be found here), it’s a place to jam with your friends. If you plan on going here, go early(seriously), bring your party friends and don’t forget to fill up your wallet. It’ll be worth it!

An extra star goes to the fact that I always come here, not on my own accord, and get in without paying. Well, I guess it’s not me personally getting in for free but one of my girlfriends who knows the promoter and now bouncer. This is basically the only reason I enjoy coming to this club, bypassing the line and bypassing the $ 20 entrance fee. I never used to mind doing things like this until I realized how ridiculous it is to make people wait in line AND pay to get into an establishment that then goes on to charge you for drinks and only provides seating to those willing to shed a few hundred on a minimum of 2 bottles… Anyone else find that outrageous? Ya me too. That being said, inside is nice. If you look up their photos on their website, you’d think it was the nicest place you’ve ever seen but trust me, the lighting is very different than what the photos show. Basically it’s just dark. You can’t really see anything except for the bars that have darkened mirrors behind the booze and brick walls in between. The bars are the standard marble/granite with an added little boost on the bottom for the vertically challenged or for the ladies to rest their dancing feet on. The dancefloor looks like a sunken in runway, and it gets crowded. It’s very difficult to navigate through the dancefloor, you’re better off going up the stairs and walking around than anything. There are also little platforms that are inhabited by crazy groups of girls dancing but then are ushered off for the paid dancer to shake her bon bon on. I believe there are 2 separate stage/platforms on either end of the dancefloor. There is an upstairs VIP area that has a line up so ridiculous that you wonder why people want/need to go up there. Upstairs has its own DJ and plays different music and opens to the patio(open all year). Upstairs is has pretty much the exact same set up with the brick walls and mirrors with the addition of some plant life, no idea what purpose that serves but it’s there. The patio is made up of heaters in the winter and wood cabanas, it seems to be a popular spot as all of the cabanas are usually taken but be forewarned, you will be standing in a cloud of smoke as all the smokers come here to light up. My experiences here are usually good, there have been multiple times where the people there are a big more aggresive than other times but I just brush that off, you will get this at any club you go to. Drinks are regularly priced, not overly expensive, $ 7 for mixed drinks and $ 5 for shots. There are no snacks here, not even little appetizers you can order to munch on. I once had bottle service here and they offered us a free bottle of champagne but I do believe that was because we complained about them sticking us in a spot that had one chair and a 2 person couch for a party of at least 10 people. At least they did something… It’s not my favourite place to go as the music is not great and the people in attendance are usually d-bags, but it’s a decent place to go if you want to shake your thang on a Saturday night. I think my distaste mainly stems from my frequent visits.

You want an upscale nightclub with beautiful people? Come by Tryst in Toronto. Great music and clubbing here. If you have a big party then you should get a VIP table and get the cover taken care of. Heard the summer is hott for these clubs, with patio drinking and music. Bring your sexy self here to Tryst and have a good time.
