Formerly«Mighty Mike’s,» apparently the Olive Branch underwent a major transformation when it was featured on Season 4 of the Food Network Canada’s «Restaurant Makeover» program. It certainly looks purdy, at least from the exterior, and does include a pleasant patio that sprawls along its Bloor Street location. I hate to piddle on what clearly was a decent attempt at positive change. But, you know… … my pint of Keith’s Red was so so so so watered down that I didn’t even bother to review the menu all that seriously. I simply left. But that was just as well, because the bartender told me that I’d «have to» wait an extra 15 or 20 minutes for my dinner order anyway, since the cook was too busy helping repair the pool table. Um. Nah. Moral of the story? Substance still trumps image any day.
