I have purchased several items from the Futon store over the past few years, as they have been in business longer than any Futon store in the city. I found the staff friendly, and willing to take time to answer any questions, Decent prices and delivered on time,

I found out about this place via a google search, and checking out the website, didn’t want to go to Ikea since neither I or my husband have a car. The service was fast(we were in and out in about 10 min) and professional, and they delivered it slightly early, and also set it up for us! Though it was a little more than what I and my husband expected to pay, it turned out to be extremely high quality at almost half the price of a conventional mattress(and about the same thickness). The fact that it’s close to a few other places I visit in the area helps a lot too!

With two futon stores almost side by side, it’s inevitable that you’ll have to compare the two. In the city, I don’t even know where else to go for a good quality, wooden frame futon(other than Ikea). Price points are almost the same(from $ 500 – 800 for the entire set). Here you can mix and match frames, mattresses and then pick your cover. So go in, with an idea of what kind of frame you want. It ranges from ones that can lounge, turns into a single or double bed, can be three seater sofa or love seat etc. Then you’ll pick your mattress firmness, and then, they will charge you an extra $ 40 – 50 for a cover. There’s something about this store, that is a little dingy and old fashioned. We got a quote from them and went next door. Due to a boxing day sale with a free cover, they ended up being cheaper — otherwise they are comparable. But next door is brighter, bigger store, and has lots more variety. I think the atmosphere plays a huge role in the shopping experience. The staff was knowledgeable and patient, and was okay with us getting a price match next door, I guess it’s expected.

In the past 13 years of moving around, I’ve had to buy a few futons in the city. I don’t have a car and find trips to Ikea one of the most energy-sucking experiences to ever exist, so The Futon Store is a god-send. I’ve always gone back and forth between this place and East-West two doors down, but I’ve consistently gotten more attentive service here, not to mention a better selection of simple, classy futons and frames. Anyway, I know, futons aren’t noted for providing comfort, but I’ve never had a problem with what I’ve gotten here. The fact that I keep coming back here is a sign, too. And they actually delivered early on two of three occasions! Bonus.
