Went here today as a work group. Of course, the department picked it because the staff’s skirts are short. It never fails, I guess men are so easy. All good I get it. Anyway, it was my first time and I was surprised that the fish and coleslaw were really good. The fries were not special but were not bad either. My friend liked her sliders. The beer was on special. They advertise all-day English breakfast. The waitstaff were friendly and swapped out a meal for my coworker at no charge and the manager even came over to make sure the new meal is fine. It is noisy and very busy with Bay Street types, but you see other folks in there as well. I would go back for the fish and chips but probably not at 12:00 because they are so busy. They are part of a chain across town.

Good local pub in the path. Came here with a friend for after work drinks and a bite. The service was good and we both got the half order of fish and chips which was the perfect pub food and less greasy than I had anticipated. Good for a pub and super popular among people that work in the area. This place is busy almost every weeknight!

Gord and I had supper this evening at the Duke of Devon. It was busy! Gord and I both ordered wings. Gord got his plain. He said they were excellent. I got mine with honey garlic sauce. They were good. Mariola was our server and she took good care of us.

I came here with some coworkers to watch the jays game on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty packed and the waitresses were showing their support, decked out in blue jays colours. We ordered some drinks, appetizers and I had the burger with fries. The burger was pretty tasty, cooked medium well if I had to guess. The fries werent as good, but I didnt really expect much anyways. I enjoyed the stein that they were serving for oktoberfest. 1L of beer was great, but it got cold by the time i was done, as i cant drink that much beer quickly. The waitresses were all very nice and brought out our food quickly, despite how busy it was which is impressive. Many places fall apart in terms of timing when there are major events so this was a pleasant surprise. It was too cold for the patio for dinner, vut there is one upstairs that gets very packed during the summer. I would definitely recommend checking it out next time its nice out as its a very hot spot. Be warned though, this place has a lot of corporate folk, as its right in the heart of financial district.

Manager(Spiros) greeted us and found a seat for my girls(wife and 14 year old daughter). Then introduced us to our waitress(Kristen from Dallas TX). She took excellent care for our allergies. I ended up with wings(they baked instead of fried for me). Food was good and very tasty. Appetizer portions were big enough to share. Service was outstanding. Would highly recommend if you are downtown Toronto.

Duke of Devon is a pretty good restaurant both from a food and atmosphere standpoint. It has great outside seating that accommodates a large amount of people. They also have a wide variety of dishes to choose from, making it a good choice since most restaurants tend to go with a specific type of food. I dined outside and had an order of the Moroccan vegetable stew. The dish consisted of chickpeas, potatoes, carrots, onions, spinach and infused tomato broth. It was delicious and turned out to be the perfect lunch. Definitely an unexpected treat. One thing worth noting is that the service is very good. They were churning out dishes at a rapid pace, including mine. The waitresses are dressed like lakers cheerleaders, but that’s another story! Overall a great option for lunch or dinner. Great food, great outside patio and all at a reasonable price.

The patio is great during the summer, but the rest of the time, this place is kind of just meh. Not a fan of the loud, dark, stuffy atmosphere. Service is generally pleasant though. And as far as pub food goes, this is among the better that I’ve had(but still nothing to exactly write home about). Gets busy on Thursday evenings from the banker crowd all flocking here.

Came in on a Friday before a hockey game. We didn’t have a reservation, and were lucky to get a table(make a reservation!). I had the turkey club with half fries/half salad and it was delicious. Real turkey, excellent bread, nothing to complain about. I love that they allow the half fries/half salad option(some pubs are really weird about that request!). My husband had the fish and chips and had good things to say. Normally pubs like this can be disappointing. The Duke doesn’t have the most adventurous food, but the dishes they do offer are done well, which I appreciate. The pub was so busy on this particular night, but the service was very good. Our waiter was attentive and charming. A good standby if you’re in the area.

The last time I was here was during the world cup when I saw my beloved Spanish squad get plummeted by the Dutch 5 – 1 :( Second time around lucky for reservations during lunch or else we would have been in line for a while. Firstly with the Christmas break around the corner, lunch down the PATH this place was packed with patrons. Our servers all decked out in red was courteous and efficient. For bevies I had the Samuel Adams Seasonal winter ale which was yummy… and the gang of coworkers I was with had Creemore Urbock ale which looked good. For food I opted to have their fish n chips $ 16.99 for the biggie size, portions were huge, fries were tasty not oily, served with tartar sauce and coleslaw. the fish wasn’t overly battered which was plus!!! As a side note… their nachos and sangria are pretty good too. :) duke is great especially if you’re in and around the financial district.

Went there for trivia on Monday night. The game was fun but the food was absolutely garbage and expensive. Asked for spicy hot garlic wings, they gave us wings half spicy, half honey garlic. The spinach dip was so watery, it’s more like a soup. Will never go back.

Service here was extraordinarily slow — we arrived for a 12:00PM reservation, and weren’t eating until 12:45. Given that this pub principally caters to the Bay Street crowd, that’s an unacceptably long wait. The fish and chips were okay –certainly nothing to write home about, and the portion of fries was small. I was still hungry after finishing lunch.

Was shopping and fund the Duke of Devon in the underground. Great place to sit and relax, have a cold beverage. Everyone was friendly and helped answer our travel/tourist questions. Didn’t have any food but place was starting to fill up as we were leaving.

Patio is fine but it’s frankly a little pricey for what it is. Small portions and the drink selection is unremarkable. But the service is super and I like how clean it is. Based on where it’s located I wouldn’t be surprised if I came back again.

I came here for lunch with coworkers. I was pleasantly surprised by the meal. I ordered the burger with monterey jack cheese on a gluten free bun. It was not greasy at all! The meat was cooked well done and was not dried. Even the fries were not greasy. I appreciated that a lot. One of my coworkers ordered the rainbow trout and even that looked delicious: moist and pink. Although the place did the job, I am not inspired to write more about it. Maybe next time.

Very convenient place to have a relaxing drink with colleagues after work. non-pretentious and a good mix of brews on tap. I find the service here is much better than the service at Duke of Westminster which is why I typically walk further in the PATH to go there. In terms of food, they have your typical British pub food which is cooked to the expected level. On a side note, when they storm hit Toronto I was at the Duke of Devon when the power went out. Was very impressed with the way they handled the situation both in terms of service and more importantly not filling up the restaurant with incoming clients when they knew this would only exacerbate the situation inside. Many places would have went for the extra dollars I am sure so was very appreciative of this!

Good beer selection, although a little pricey, even for this area of Toronto. Haven’t tried the food, but looking at other folks’ eating it looked good.

The Duke’s patio is a great spot for after work drinks. We go there often. #1 attraction is its patio location. Friendly management(Spiros, Mike, Mark) and staff. Pub grub is good, there is a finger food menu 4 for $ 20. Tip get a pitcher of beer the price is good. Only suggestions: have more servers on the patio. I know I’d eat and drink more if I could just get it! And have better music playing, make it kind of like a bar as the night goes on.

I never expect to be overwhelmed by high traffic pubs downtown. They are focused on throughput and often business type lunches are such that you don’t really pay that much attention to the food. However, I had a pleasant chicken curry all the same, and service was fast and friendly, which is what really matters when you think about it. My lunch companion seemed to enjoy his club sandwich as well, so I think while this wasn’t an especially noteworthy meal it was pretty good for the surroundings.

Food is OK. Much better choices in the area. Nice place for patio lunch and drinks. Sometimes they give free examples. Good if you’re in the area but better choices elsewhere.
