LOVE THE CABINET. Great vibe, amazing aesthetic and warm and welcoming staff. I see Emma Rose and she always gives me exactly what I am looking for, whether i show her from a picture or she basically just reads my mind. I always leave feeling beautiful and satisfied. I have seen some of the other stylists as well and they are also awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone. Also if you are looking for a great massage or facial they provide these services as well and are always on point.

Love this Salon. Got a cut on a Friday from Cheri, and was not entirely happy with it a few days later (I had not been specific enough/​was being indecisive). I called to ask if I could get a touch up and saw Cheri again 2 weeks later. She was incredible and my hair looked flawless afterwards. Exactly what I was hoping for. The salon and their staff are so professional. They didn’t even charge me for the touch up. Nailed it.

Cherie is great. I found this place online, and found the people very charming and competent. I was looking for a good haircut and style, and Cherie gave me exactly what I was looking for. She listened to my ideas, gave some of her own, and together we created a fabulous hair style for me. I am so happy that I found this salon! Would highly recommend Cherie.

After reading so many positive reviews, I was excited to get my hair done at The Cabinet Salon.
Unfortunately I won’t be returning as I ended up having the worst (& most expensive) colour I have had in my life as well as a less-​than-​impressive trim.
I had had a colour correction consultation appointment a week prior to the actual appointment, and was told that what I wanted was doable.
I was going from a super dark cool toned box-​dyed brown to my natural colour, a medium ash brown. I emphasized my want for a natural look and showed pictures of what I was going for, but ultimately walked out with a patchy bright red with dark brown streaks.
My bangs were noticeably darker than the rest of my hair and the stylist offered to fix it for no extra charge in a follow-​up appointment. That was polite & all, however, I couldn’t get a follow-​up appointment until a week later and so I walked around with crazy-​looking hair and puzzled looks from friends & acquaintances for a week packed with presentations and meetings. As you can imagine, I was less than thrilled — especially after dropping $ 300.
Today, about two months later, I finally had my hair fixed to the medium ash brown I had desired months ago at another salon outside of Toronto. I explained to today’s stylist what my Cabinet stylist had done & how he had done it and she was shocked. The Cabinet stylist used bleach in patches (as though he were highlighting my hair) to lift my colour, whereas today’s stylist used an all-​over colour correction cream. She also said she noticed «holes» my cut, which admittedly, I hadn’t noticed prior to her mentioning.
I definitely won’t be back. Though the vibe of the salon is great, the location is convenient & the stylists are friendly, my hair — what really matters — was a mess, even at such a high price point.

Yay! My first time going to a new salon in 7 years and I’m so glad my co-​worker recommended Cabinet. I have curly hair and get a partial foil, and having had one bad experience with highlights years ago I’m always afraid to go to a new stylist.
I saw Gosia and she did a marvolous job! It was a week before my brother’s wedding, so I wanted a fresh color and cut to look my best. Gosia took a look at my hair and replicated what my former stylist did with ease, but even better! The cut is the best I’ve ever had.
Great service here, they offer you a drink (water/​wine) while you wait and it’s a relaxing atmosphere. It’s up on the second floor so less noise from the street. Good music, they were playing 80’s/90’s hip-​hop so that was awesome.

A friend of mine with equally wild and curly hair recommended The Cabinet for its friendly staff, great location and relative affordability. At first I tried to book with Emma because of her good reputation as a curly-​hair master, but since she was fully booked for the following two months, I booked my cut with Alex. I usually walk away from haircuts disappointed. After enough years, and with my unruly hair I have become resigned to mediocre cuts. However, I got a great cut this time! Alex helped me figure out what worked with my hair and preferred maintenance schedule, and the result was exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be going back.

I was really glad I came here for my dramatic new look. I was finally ready to chop off my long hair and the result I ended up with was fantastic — I don’t even miss my long locks. Renae did a fantastic job styling my hair into this sexy lob. I also had a colour done so I was here for a good 3 hours. I was one of the first customers of the day so it was very quiet and relaxed and it was nice to look out onto Queen and Portland from where I was sitting. I’ll definitely be coming back here for maintenance. So pleased with what I got and worth what I paid for.

Cabinet has been my salon for years. I am a loyal customer. Emma always does an amazing cut and colour and she has great style — which helps when I don’t know what I want. The space is great — lots of natural light and high ceilings. Music playing in the background and your choice of tea, wine or water while you have your service done.
I always leave satisfied and looking amazing!

I spontaneously decided that I was gonna cut my hair short two days ago, so I spent 2 hours on Unilocal and BlogTO looking for good hair salons. Hitting 1 hour and 45 minutes, I saw a link, «The Cabinet Salon», so I clicked it and got here. I am so glad that I did because I went in today and had the best hair cut of my life!
I’ve had the same hairdresser for 15 years and I thought that it’s finally time for a change. The location is great but the only problem was finding the actual entrance to the second floor; it took me a while but I finally got it! (It’s literally across from Loblaws/​Winners and around the corner of Outer Layers. I hope this helps someone!)
I got there a little early so I was offered some tea which was great, especially when it was –25 out. After waiting a little, Alex introduced himself to me. I sat down and we discussed what I wanted to do to my hair and then he proceeded to wash my hair. (The shampoo smelled amazing!) I sat back down at the chair and he went to work. It was so nice to see him cut my hair. I know this isn’t what you normally focus on while you’re getting your hair cut, but you can really tell that he enjoys what he does. He didn’t rush anything and did everything with care. I’m still very impressed!
I left VERY happy and like I said, best hair cut of my life. I will definitely be back again.

I used to get my hair done at First Choice. 2 years ago I decided that I wanted pink highlights. After asking friends for recommendations, one of them told me about The Cabinet Salon. I’ve been going to them ever since.
Everyone here is super friendly. I love my hair dresser Renae. She is amazing and talented. I always love the way she cuts and colours my hair. I would definitely recommend her. The salon isn’t cheap, but it’s worth it.
The location is easily accessible by TTC and in a good area.

Since moving to Toronto nearly 2 years ago, I’ve been trying to find a great hairdresser.
The Cabinet, in my opinion is not it.
I LOVE my stylist, Johnny. He’s awesome. And funny. So funny.
But heres my issue: he takes what you say, listens and does it. But does it waaaaay over the top. I asked for my highlights to frame my face a little better — they came out a different colour.
His colour is OK — nothing special.
His cuts are great — he plays it safe here. Which is good.
To me, this is an expensive salon — I paid well into the $ 200’s for colour alone — half head of highlights and toner.
The atmosphere is super quiet — no music. Not many other clients (it’s a small group).
I’m just so meh about this place

Really nice place and people. I found it a little steep for a men’s cut. Almost $ 60. They have 2 – 3 free parking spots which is great!

I normally jump around from salon to salon, never really finding a great hair stylist. For me to go back to the same place twice means a great deal!
I love the products they use, and the way my hair looks and feels after a cut!

I searched long and hard throughout Toronto for a salon where I actually liked my haircut after leaving… and I finally found one!
Decent prices and friendly staff = a winner!
I highly recommend.

Gorgeous space, moderately priced for Toronto ($ 50 cuts), really nice staff.
Somehow everyone here GETS curly hair.

Tucked away on the upper floor of an historic building along Queen West exists a place I thought was only a myth: A salon where the staff are not only incredibly good at what they do and up on the current trends, but inviting and friendly at the same time. And of course, everyone that works here has got great hair!
Its not cheap ($ 50) for a cut, but damn, its worth every penny. You know you’ve had a great cut when it looks just as good growing out as it did the day it was done. Emma is an incredible stylist, concerned that you leave not only happy, but delighted — and she is determined to make it so.
I am thrilled I’ve finally found my niche, and I always look forward to my next appointment.
