I’ve had to exchange my currency here twice recently, CAD for GBP and ILS. I know I can’t base my review on my dissatisfaction of exchange rates (they really always always suck), so I am trying to keep that aside. However, on a day when 1 CAD = 3.52 ILS, I managed to only walk away with 310 ILS for 100 CAD. That’s $ 40 lost to the establishment in the transaction! With that said, it’s probably most often better than most currency exchange places.
They carry a wide range of currency, which is definitely a reliable plus (and earns them the reluctant third star).
What really dampened my experience both times is the teller. It’s such an in-​and-​out place, where all one has to do for me is greet me with a smile and wish me a good trip, how could one suck all the happiness out of me in a matter of two minutes?
With the less-​than-​worthwhile exchange rate/​service charge, and an unpleasant teller, I am going to consider just using bank card at the ATM in my foreign destination for a $ 5 charge than to make the trip here. Also, a tip to all travellers alike: just use your credit card when it is safe to do so! Best rate out of all your options.
