I’ve been sugaring before but I think I’m loyal to Amanda now! Yes, her business is home based, but January 3rd(if I recall correctly) her own store by much music will open up. the set up was very professional, she talked to me the whole way and was such an easy going person! Her prices are very fair and her schedule was very accommodating to me! what I like most was how sanitary she was! This was the first place that provided me with wipes to be extra clean for the sugaring, and I noticed she switched gloves everytime she was going to grab more paste. Best of all, I don’t have any bumps! I really like this place and have already recommended to my friends!

I’ve been to other places to get sugared but none were as efficient or professional as Amanda. She was quick and chatted the whole time to keep my mind off what was happening to my nether regions. She also gave me tips to help with ingrown hairs. Her price is ridiculously reasonable and the quality of her work was impressive. Do recommend.

To be honest, I absolutely hate getting waxed, and I was looking for a place in Toronto that uses hard instead of soft wax when I stumbled across this«sugaring» deal. As stated, I am not a fan of ripping my hair out, so I was a bit nervous, but Amanda was super nice and super patient… and it hardly hurt at all! She put up with my incessant flinching and kept me distracted while talking to me the whole time. I had forgotten I also wanted to do my upper lip until I was almost out the door and she was nice enough to set up all over again for me! I did a Brazilian and it was neither awkward nor too painful. First time is $ 40 dolllars which is a great deal compared to the places I used to go in Houston, and after the first time it’s $ 35 each. I tipped a little over 10% because I’m not sure what’s customary when it comes to at-home businesses; I always assumed that since they’re not working for anyone else and get all the money it’s not necessary, but she was so good and kind that I felt it was only fair. Highly recommended, especially if you’re shy or scared to get waxed!

Is she out of business? I’ve sent emails and called couple times to book an appointment but didn’t hear anything back. Even though website of voicemail doesn’t say anything about vacation or something. So I’ve booked an appointment at Sugar Moon and really happy with their service.

Amanda was amazing! Her conversation definitely distracted me from the pain. Its my first time sugaring, and I do think that the aftereffect of sugaring is much better than waxing — less in-grown hair and much smoother, although I think the pain is around the same. Will definitely be back!

To be honest, I am not a fan of home-based businesses because I feel they often lack professionalism. But the way Amanda has set up her apartment, you never feel like you are intruding in her space. The place is set up like an aesthetics studio with a clean living room to wait, a space to put your purse, a separate counter for jewellery and a room with a divider reserved specifically for treatments. And the place is CLEAN and odourless. Also, for those that care: Amanda has got a great handshake. I know that it’s an odd thing to comment on but I feel handshakes tell you a lot about a person. Hers says: I am confident, I know what I’m doing, but please feel comfortable in my space. She talked to me incessantly throughout the treatment — which I LOVE. It’s hard to ignore the pain of hair removal, but any distraction helps. She also respected me when I asked for a few moments to breathe and let my muscles relax. As far as my first time sugaring goes: I am experiencing significantly less irritation and redness than I do with waxing. Also, Amanda explained to me how nasty and unhygienic waxing can be. I almost threw up from the details she told me of how unsanitary waxing can be(sorry, but I’m grossed out easily). But it’s traumatized me enough to realize that I need to find a more sanitary and healthy alternative to waxing. If you’re convinced, I’ll finish off with her prices for brazilians, which are fairly reasonable: $ 40 for first-timers and $ 35 from thereon in.

Amanda runs this sugaring business out of her apartment which is spotless and professionally maintained. Sugaring is basically a less painful, more hygienic, and all natural version of waxing. It requires only sugar, oil, and water. The final product is fantastic and there is no after burn, redness, or pain. Amanda cares about her customers and is a very friendly and talkative person. Her conversation will overshadow any discomfort or pain during your procedure! Note there are only 2 sugaring spots currently in Toronto and the other one(sugarmoon) never answers the phone! For repeat customers, you can’t beat a $ 35 treatment at Sweet Mango. Amanda’s website photos will also make you laugh and likely put you at ease.

Amanda is THE best. I was introduced to sugaring through Groupon and although I initially had some reservations when I arrived to her place(as it’s a home run business), they quickly dissipated; she is incredibly friendly, accommodating and professional. My first time here, she explained the differences between waxing and sugaring. None of what she says is a sales pitch, I’ve found everything to be true! Not to mention I’m always happy with the end result. I have not gone back to waxing since trying sugaring, nor do I have plans to; I’m sure you’ll feel the same after a visit to Sweet Mango :)

I was glad I found this home-run business through a Groupon. I have always avoided waxing because of sensitive skin, but the places offering sugaring in the city are few and far between, and it is often expensive(certainly more so than waxing). For this reason, Sweet mango is a great discovery. Amanda is cool, professional, and detail-oriented. I’m always happy with the results. The space is clean and similar to going to a salon, and I never have problems getting an appointment. Definitely try it out — once you try sugaring it’s hard to go back to anything else!
