Staples

I do all my business printing here and everything is ready the day of. Anytime they don’t have a paper in stock they call me and we find a perfect replacement. They are open early and close late. Better than owning a printer and buying ink myself!

I’ll start with the negative, it a small issue for me but I’ve had to call 311 a few times for it. The store staff never, ever shovel their sidewalks. I mean they just let the snow pile up creating treacherous conditions for pedestrians and even worse for strollers/​wheelchairs. Not sure why they don’t do this simple, good neighbour thing. I will continue calling 311 each time they neglect to clear snow.
As for the rest, the store is clean. Staff are friendly and fairly knowledgeable. They also have e-​waste bins by the front door that make dropping off old electronics a breeze. Prices are ok with sometimes great clearance deals. They will price match other retailers too so bring your smartphone to cross shop the competition.

I feel like Staples is barely holding on in the digital world — it’s not really the hot spot it used to be when people needed to get business supplies and anything paper related.
This location does come in handy because it’s around the block from my place, but every time I walk in it’s a ghost town. There seems to only be a few people working and so when you actually need assistance you have to go out of your way to track down an employee. And even though business is slow for some reason I get stuck in a line-​up at the cashier.
Some of the products have layers of dust on them. I feel like most of the staff have given up on this place. I don’t want to be totally negative — service is usually friendly and it’s certainly a useful place to have in my neighbourhood, but it can be tedious shopping here.
Their small computer section (including Apple products) keeps them afloat, but I would sooner hit up Best Buy or Future Shop for my digital needs.

Day 1: Bought a chair, the salesperson promised me they could deliver it the next day between 9 – 5.
Day 2: waited all day and the delivery never occurred, the store didn’t bother to call me they could not deliver the chair. I wasted my time staying home from work for nothing at all. Will they provide me compensation for this? I think not.
If you want to use Staples as a trusted partner, think again.

This store is quite an improvement over the Yonge street location which still doesn’t mean much as we are talking about a business in decay. My experience with Staples has been mostly meh as if you are looking for a promo item its mostly out of stock. There is dearth of staff when you walk around in the store.
One can get lucky and find some stuff at good prices at this chain otherwise its just your run of a mill stuff.
This store is bigger and cleaner than the other branch nearby and has parking so if that is something that attracts you by all means give it a try.

I think this could possibly be the best Business Depot ever!
SERVICE
Impeccable. Competent. Friendly. Patient. Honest.
These are just a few words to describe the staff at this location. They give you the time and instill their knowledge into you. I have been serviced by several staff at this location (mainly the tech dept) and I can confidently say they were absolutely the ideal salespeople. They knew everything about the products, they listened to our requests and suggested the best product for us or even said that a cheaper model may be better suited to our needs. They didn’t rush us nor were they condescending.
PRODUCTS
The same as other business depot. The size is bigger than the one located at Gerrard square.
PARKING
There is free parking. The only thing I would warn you about are the cement boulders (not sure how else to describe them) at the front of each spot. They are a lot higher than usual and your car will scrape the top of it if you drive too close.
I will definitely keep going back to this location. The service is simply 5 stars above the rest.
