ATTENTION: CLOSEDDOWN CLOSEDDOWN CLOSEDDOWN Sept 2015: Philthy McNasty’s has closed down, at least at this location. Apparently it has been this way for a few months. Their marquee board even mentions this, saying something like ‘it was a good run, thanks for the memories’ and they are closed for operation. I’m really surprised there is no mention of this on Unilocal… Anyway, we tried to go there today and since it was closed, we went to St Louis Bar and Grill, on Yonge just a bit south of Eglinton.

Well«Philthy McNastys» is definitely an accurate description! Was there about a week ago for some beer to waste time. Going in was a mistake. Service staff were friendly, but slow and inattentive. The draught was actually warm(I did see it being poured) and the place was unkept. Have only been in one other time, and it wasn’t great then, but it is truly not worth going now. Can’t judge food, since my party didn’t order any, though I wouldn’t test it. Plenty of alternatives in midtown.

We went there around 11 o’clock at night. We sat on the patio, since it was too hot inside. It was not busy at all but the service was very slow. It was just 5 of us Friends who went there. Beers were nice and chilled and the burgers there are amazing. The pulled pork sandwich is not that great but the curly fries and burgers make up for that. The prime minister burger in my opinion was the best burger on the menu. A little tip — if you ask for some sauce in the side they charge you extra for a tinny little cup. We didn’t know that so ended up paying .99 for a very small BBQ sauce. Otherwise it was. Good restaurant to hang out if you have time to wait for the food. So I would give it 3 – 3.5 bc the timing wAs about 45 minutes for 4 burgers and 1 order of jalapeño poppers.

Archimedes! No! Its Philthy in there! Came here on a Friday night. This place has potential. There is a non smoking patio and a basement with a dancefloor. Too bad its poorly managed. It feels like you are partying in an abandoned /post apocalyptic pub. Nasty ambience overall. On the plus side they got a nice DJ and friendly bartenders, few pool tables, and free WiFi. Yes this place surely lives up to its name by being both filthy and nasty, not in a good way though!

The diviest of dives at Yonge and Egg. They close sections all the time, the beers are meh and its not really worth the«Atmosphere», There are better options up and down the street.

Part 4 of guys night out got a bit Nasty… The name of this place says it all… but should be spelt FILTHY and not Philthy. This by far is not the place to be, its grungy-ness, diirrrtay-ness, and stenching-smell of this environment was overwhelmingly disgusting. It’s no surprise, I see that the previous comments were bang-on correct with regards to Filthy-Nastys. On the main floor is the actual bar with its surrounding booths, and the stairs leading down to the dancefloor/loungy/club atmosphere which wreaked of nastyness. Though it has cheap drinks, and a rather dis-tastful selection of crowd I would not recommend this place for food due to its mediocre-ness, but again it has cheap d

The food here is straight-up mediocre… yet I’ve found myself eating lunch here a few times recently because World Cup soccer is happening and this is a great sports pub. So if you MUST eat here because you got hungry while watching sports, the club sandwich is pretty good, as is the peameal bacon sandwich and the sweet potato fries. But make sure you get what you actually ordered – they tend to mess things up occasionally(eg chicken missing from chicken pad thai; avocado missing from avocado club sandwich). The reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 2, is the sheer number of televisions. In my opinion, this is the best pub in the neighbourhood to watch a sporting event. They have TVs everywhere you look, plus private TVs in every booth. They also have a living-room area, with a comfy sectional, easy chairs and a coffee table(facing 2 TVs side by side)…your group can even reserve this table!(Just ask for the living room thing). So bottom line… eat beforehand, come for the sports, stay for the beer.
