I’ve been here for lunch a handful of times just because it’s nearby the office. The sushi is ok, but just ok. They tend to over-rice the nigiri and maki, which is my number one pet peeve at a la carte sushi places. It’s not AYCE, I don’t need to be tricked into consuming copious amounts of rice. The quality of the fish is pretty good and pretty flavourful in an ever-increasing world of bland, tasteless sushi. The service is really what sets this place apart. Friendly staff, attentive servers and fair price-lists keep this place full at lunch.

Great food and service. Ordered the bento combination to try a bit of everything. The sashimi and the tempura were excellent! Chicken teriyaki was only ok, but it’s probably a matter of taste. We were there with two children, and the atmosphere is great for a family.

This place is near my work, so we had a couple of team lunches here. It is a small family restaurant, so we need to make reservations for our large team. The lunch here is considered reasonable price in downtown habourfront area. The food is good quality. The portion is also large. For around 15, you are going to have a good sushi lunch. The waitress is pretty friendly. Anyway, a good place for team lunch.

Just steps away from my home. My favourite place to have a quick dinner. Lover their Unagidon and Sashimi&Tempura the most.

The best sushi I’ve ever had. Service isn’t great at lunch, that’s my only complaint.

We expected better for the price. Portions were relatively small and frankly not overly filling. But the food quality was good and fresh. I think they are still in this«captive market» mindset since they are the only sushi place that is walking distance from many large condo buildings. I would rather drive to eat sushi that is much better value elsewhere. This issue here is not the food but how I perceive value(If the cost was less or the portions larger, I would rate it a 3 – 4 stars).

My go to spot for weeknight sushi. The service is great if you eat in, and take out is great too(we usually go for take out). Sushi is fresh. We usually get a large platter, and the selection and variety of fish is great.

Really tasty, fresh sushi and great service. I was ordering piecemeal from the Sushi menu and they recommended a studio/tempura combo that saved me a ton and even customized it for nigiri instead of a California roll. Excellent value, nice atmosphere, and warm-up helpful staff.

This is a very reasonablely priced sushi place. It is small and cozy so it’s great for a party of 2 – 4. The taste is above average, and well worth the price. Take out is always available. I would recommend to anyone looking for fast sushi

It is a rather small place. But the food is good, closer to the authentic sushi in Japan than most of the Japanese restaurants in North America.

Great place for business lunch! I was there with my team and had the sashimi lunch. They were able to pack in 14 pieces of sashimi in the bento box and the quality was ok. The place is small so be there early!

I stopped here by chance when I was walking around searching for a restaurant for dinner. The reviews on Unilocal were good, so I went in! What struck me is that it seems to be a family-owned/operated restaurant, which I like. Seating was a bit tight, but cozy. Though if you want private conversations, you may go elsewhere. I could hear every word of the neighbors’ conversation. Service was prompt, and I ordered a small Sapporo beer to start. I was pleasantly surprised when edamame came with it(though another reviewer said that it comes complimentary with a meal). I ordered the sashimi dinner(20 pieces) and sadly I could not finish it all — which says a lot for me since I have an enormous appetite! One of the fish varieties tasted a bit off to me, so I did not eat those pieces. But all in all, everything was delicious(especially the salmon). Dinner came with rice, miso soup, and salad. The salad had a yummy(seemed homemade) dressing with bits of ginger in it — just the right amount and not over-powering. I’d go back!

The biggest piece of salmon I had been served so far in Toronto :-). I enjoyed my plum wine. I recommend to order it with your dessert. It is as sweet as Port. I wouldn’t go back because the place is tiny and you can hear everyone’s conversation. Good place to order take out though.

We were looking for a place to eat near the ACC when we stumbled across this place. Super friendly staff, fast service, good food and good value. The sashimi is decently proportioned, the rolls are massive and delicious and we were given edamame for free. I would definitely come back here again.

Collosal sized sushi is not necessarily good and this is no exception. However, the service is polite, understanding, and genial. A serene atmosphere punctuates the experience, leaving only a gentle humming noise in the background.

A friend of mine got a huge tray of sushi and sashmi from here, which we split for a board game night. Pretty good all around with lots of variety.

Difficult to find a decent sushi restaurant in the financial district and harbourfront. However, Oyshi Sushi provides good service and food, in a cozy, casual setting. I have been here for lunch with colleagues during the week and I definitely suggest making reservations as it has always been full. Dinners usually cater to people like myself, who live in the area. The restaurant itself is very small with traditional Japanese décor. There are a couple curtained private booths, a few tables, and there is seating at the sushi bar. The portions are good, and the quality of both the raw and cooked foods have not yet left me disappointed. Happy to have found this somewhat hidden gem in my neighbourhood to satisfy my regular sushi cravings.

Great service and super fast. We had a raptors game to attend and they served us super fast even tho they had a few other customers. Sushi tasted fresh and the teriyaki chicken was amazing. I got the salmon dome(I think) and it was great. I will visit again for sure.

A perfectly good sushi place if you happen to work in the area. I probably wouldn’t head out of my way but given the fact that I’m a vegetarian and pretty limited in what I can have sushi wise, that’s sort of a given. I’ve dined in a couple of times and grab it for takeout on occasion when I feel like something different. Sit down service is about the same as most places, service is attentive and they’ll usually give you some edamame beans or something(on the house) to munch on while you wait. The place is a little cozy but nice. My take out choice(basically my only option) is their vegetarian futomaki lunch special($ 8.95). You get 8 generously sized pieces along with a particularly good miso soup and one of those little Japanese salads they always give you. Pretty standard for downtown and again, the quality of the ingredients is good and the roll well done. Friendly, fast and tasty. Win, win, win.
