One word to sum it up: TERRIBLE! READTHEREVIEWTHATIS «NOTRECOMMENDED» I’m the kind of the girl that likes to have my nails polished all the time as I figure it’s just regular maintenance. So, it’s the Sunday before work and we’re expecting temperatures of –22 in Toronto on Monday AND my usual nail place is closed for Vietnamese New Year. I thought there’s no way I’m going out at lunch the next day in that cold to get my nails done so I’ll find a place close to home. Checked Unilocal and this seems to be the most decent; albeit, two reviews were three years ago. Made the appointment and arrived on time. First thing was that I was being pushed to do a shellac. I said no thanks a few times but she kept insisting I do it as they had a special. Again, no thanks. From the minute I sat down to the time I left(45 minutes in total), she had a loud conversation in Vietnamese with the two men by the counter — I felt like Elaine in that Seinfeld episode! Never once did she even acknowledge me. I had to interrupt to point out that she missed some of the edges and she said, «I don’t like to do edge because it get on skin.» — like WTF! Then she continued the loud Vietnamese conversation. The bag that my top coat was in fell on the ground while my nails were wet, she said, «just leave.» Never once did anyone pick it up for me! I was dying to get out to there but my nails were wet and then three kids started running around the salon. Finally she comes over and, without touching, she says, «I think nails dry. You go now.» I asked her if she had a quick dry spray(like most salons). Then, without asking, she proceeds to put one quick brush of some cheap looking shit on my nails and it made them more wet and bubbly … again, WTF! It was the kind of place that you knew it wasn’t worth arguing. OK so I then go to pay and a 10-year-old kid is at the cash. He was really sweet and I felt bad because it was a child to not leave tip so I only left her a twonie along with a scowl on the way out the door. What a joke of place. Got home and there’s all kinds of dents in my nails from the shit she put on in the end. Now I have deal with –22 tomorrow and go to my regular place for them to do a polish change. I felt like I took $ 17(+$ 12 for polish change tomorrow) and flushed it down the toilet at that shit hole. I haven’t been this pissed in a long time — they deserve to go out of business — F*&^ERS!!! It was my first time getting acrylic nails and I wanted to find something closer and I found this place. The people here are so friendly and nice. They took their time getting my nails done and it turned out so beautiful. I would definitely go back to this place.

I thought I’d try a nail place closer to home… saw this one online… decided to fight against my fears of dirty tools and dirty salon and was very pleasantly surprised. Had a lovely pedicure. I would go back again.

I have been going to Natural Nails for a couple of years now. I go about twice a month. I really only go there for my nails so I can’t speak about any of their spa service. I get pedicures done about every 3 weeks. They do a great job and my polish lasts forever. I also get gel nails done. Leena(the owner) does a wonderful job. I always get compliments on my nails.
