Great location, but the store is super cluttered to the point where one develops claustrophobia. That said, they have a large(# of models) but limited(# of manufacturers) range of guitars and gear. I bought a guitar here for a great price(after some haggling and a price-match by the owner) Worth checking out, you may find a gem or two in here.

I used to come here because of location and also because they’re willing to price match. But it’s not even worth it because I feel like they are honestly one of the worst music gear retailers on the planet. So, in sum, don’t buy anything here. I’ll elucidate. First of all, the owner has terrible customer service skills. This weekend I wanted to buy an adapter and a set of classical strings. What should have taken 2 minutes(we were the only customers there) took around 15 – 20 because he(the owner) took my money, then took a phone call and held his finger up like to say«it’ll be one finger long» or something, and then chatted for 10 minutes while we waited for change. What made this situation so idiotic was that, not a few seconds before the phone rang, I saw him rifling through his bills and he clearly had a $ 5 dollar bill — our change was $ 4.86. COMEON. Sir… you can just hand me the 5, it’s not a big deal. And instead of multitasking the phone and trying to open the register, he seriously just kept holding his finger up and walked away. To the other end of the store! So we waited because this guy couldn’t spare 14 cents to get us on our way. His employee came back from lunch, then even he couldn’t open the register to make change. Then started chatting with me about whether I’m in a band and what pedals I use — more on this later — so finally I expressed that we need to get on our way, and miraculously before I could ask for my money back, he found some change and gave it to me. This is not the first problem I’ve had before. The aforementioned employee who chatted me up — normally I would not be annoyed by casual conversation — in the past(on multiple occasions) I’ve gone in to test out guitar pedals(I had every intention of buying), and he’s insisted on treating me to a lesson in how to order them for the best sound. Unsolicited. And even after I’ve politely explained to him not only that he’s incorrect, but also that I’ve been playing music for years, and am perfectly happy with the set-up I’ve cultivated, on purpose, he’s gone on to further educate me. Anyway, never go here. The service sucks, the store is a mess, and the employees are not only not knowledgeable, but they’ll go out of their way to prove it for you.

This is one of those great old time shops that’s loaded with cool gear and people who are really into what they do. If you’re looking for a turn table, a guitar, amps, drums, sheet music and anything that pertains to music, you must check it out. Jasper is the owner and he’s a cool guy.
