There are a huge variety of toys in the store but what I like the most are the science toys. Staff here are young and friendly.

Fantastic store! It’s been around for a while and expanded in recent years. I don’t have kids but find myself browsing the store more often than I’d like to admit! They got everything here and I mean EVERYTHING! You’ll find gifts for kids of all ages and for all budgets. Staff is super friendly, the store’s layout helps browsing and all in all it’s a great place to spend some time.

I’m sad to say that we had a negative experience at Mastermind. The person who seemed to be in charge(«Marsha») was very rude to us and, in our observations, to her subordinates. I think she was just having a bad day, and so I don’t want to assume that she’s generally so impolite. But I have to be honest about our experiences. During our most recent visit, there was a lot of wind blowing through the store, because it was a busy day and the doors kept opening and closing. Since it was windy outside, a lot of that wind was coming inside. At one point, a game fell off a shelf near me due to the wind. Marsha walked out from behind the counter, angrily put the game back on the shelf with a thud, made an audible groan, and glared at me angrily. She assumed, I take it, that I’d knocked the game down.(I didn’t. It was the wind.) During the visit, I also saw Marsha chastising some of the other employees for mistakes they were(in Marsha’s opinion) making while serving customers. Unfortunately, this did more to create an uncomfortable environment than to raise the standard of customer service. Mastermind is a store for kids’ toys, games, and educational implements. It should be a fun and cheerful place. During our visit, though, it was neither fun nor cheerful. The good news is that they have lots of neat stuff. And hopefully what we experienced was just a tiny blip, rather than an indication of how things normally work at Mastermind.

Great store, helpful employees. Whenever my wife and I were in need of a kid’s gift, we would just find an employee and ask«what’s hot for an x-year-old boy/girl?» They’d always steer us in the right direction. Free gift wrapping too. They would have gotten 5 stars, but they are a tad pricey. A travel Scrabble game they sell for 34.95 was to be had at Chapter’s for 29.95. Keep in mind, though, you get great service, AND free gift wrapping!

Best toy store in Toronto, with two train tables. Essential for rainy days and little boys. Fantastic selection of low end, educational and high end toys and books!
