A small café(looks Taiwanese) just south of Yonge and Finch. They serve bubble tea, flavoured toast, waffles with ice cream, and even some Asian dishes(more meal and a small selection of apps to share with friends). They also have a good selection of plain teas. I took a date here; she had a flavoured tea, I had hot lavender tea, and we split taro toast. The lavender tea was too sweet for my liking, it’s like sugar was added. The toast tasted good. On other occasions I’ve had their bubble tea and shared appetizers and they were all good. Their other unsweetened teas are good, I’ve had the oolong twice. They offer free wifi, a few board games to play with, and there are a couple of 4-seater tables if you want to come here and do some work. The service is good too; they’re quick to serve, and while they don’t ask you for anything once your order is served, they’re always around and eager to help. I like this café, it’s one of my favourite in the area. No idea why their average score is so low, should be at least 3.5.

I bought a bubble tea drink yesterday. They didn’t give me enough Tapiocas. The tapiocas were completely gone when I was not even half way finishing the drink. Avoid this place.

Just a short walk from finch station. Pretty busy and one of the few bubble tea places in this area of Korea Town. Service is good and with a smile(Y). The ambience is nice but the seats could be more comfortable. I hate wooden chairs in a restaurant. Lighting a bit dim. The tea, ah its regular. I ordered a hot drink, but got it warm. The choice of flavors are pretty standard. I ordered almond tea and it was a bit bitter and the flavouring wasn’t mixed well and I could get the taste of it at the bottom of my cup. Don’t know if it’s cause it’s a slow night being a Sunday but still expected a bit more from Taiwan’s #1 bubble tea. My suggestion to them would be for them to try something more creative and distinguish themselves from regular bubble tea places– for instance serve eat/drink in customers in different(read Taiwanese) tea cups. There’s no point asking ‘take out?’ If cutlery isn’t different. I give 3 stars for service and convenience in terms of how close it is. Up your game and you get the coveted 5. ;)

Surprised that the rating isn’t higher. The pot of tea we had here, on a freezing cold night during a blizzard, was the most delicious tea I’ve ever had. When you’re suffering from a cold and it’s below-freezing outside, that’s worth it’s weight in gold. We also split a dessert, a crêpe with chocolate ice cream, banana, and hazelnut. While it took a little while to prepare(kinda slow), it was delicious and worth the wait. Would have been a five-star place if they were just a little faster. On an empty night during a blizzard, I kinda expect service to be almost-overly-attentive, so when things are slow-paced and casual in spite of there being nothing else for the employees to do at that time except chat, it’s mildly annoying, and cost them the five-star endorsement.

It’s alright. They have cool decoration, cozy, small and look cute. Their food is pretty good too, I just had chance to try their snack, not rice with beef but the menu pic look really tasty. One thing I don’t like about HiTea is their small or big size is not different and they always give you to-go cup.

I believed that the owner and all the staffs there are Taiwanese, so do I! Even I raised in hong kong but I go back to Taipei every year. So when I had the popcorn chicken here… I was so disappointed. Never seen popcorn chicken need dipping! And the egg or tofu both bad. I don’t expect would be as good as in Taipei, but this is really terrible! And the stewed pork rice is too salt! And shouldn’t have any veggie in it too!!! But the bubble tea is decent.

Okay my last visit definitely wasn’t as good as the first visit. The tapioca wasn’t as chewy and the tea wasn’t as creamy. Maybe they put too much ice but it was somewhat watery. My friend got the strawberry green tea which she thought was okay but for the price point it is definitely more expensive than other bubble tea places. So recap: drinks aren’t as consistent as they can be, and drinks are priced higher than other tea shops. Now it’s up to you to figure out if their atmosphere /location /selection makes up for the price. I don’t know. they have some strong competition opened up across the street last week…

I’m writing this review as I’m waiting for my drink order to arrive. We placed the order 15 mins ago and a guy who came in after us for a take-out got his drink and jetted out in no time. I should also mention that there are only 6 patrons in this place, incl. me & my boyfriend. So, service was definitely lacking and deserved a 1 star. Another thing that really angers me is their false advertising. It’s my first time ordering meals from this place and I was«enticed» by the food menu they put up on their window. They advertised all meals as a combo, which came with a FREE iced drink that you could upgrade to any flavour FORFREE before 6pm. No other restrictions were mentioned. So we went in, got seated, and found out that there’s more to the«deal» than what we originally read. First, the combo meals were only offered during the week. Second, the menu they had inside only mentioned a free original iced tea(no mention about the free upgrade to any flavour). Well, was that mentioned on the menu they posted outside? No. Did I feel cheated? Absolutely yes. And It’s not like this is an affordable place to eat. The individual meals are $ 9 – 10. At Ten Ren on Empress Ave., I can get a meal, an iced drink, and a pudding dessert for the same price. And guess what? They offer that over the weekend, too! The drink we got was an almond milk tea with grass jelly. It’s actually pretty good and came with almond slivers on top. But for $ 5+ a drink, I could live without it. The food was similar to other Taiwanese establishments. Again, I could live without them. In short, I’m going to avoid this place for the rest of my life!

I’ve been here a couple of times, and my favourite item to order is the chocolate milk bubble tea. I’ve also had the minced meat rice here, and frankly I would pass on that. There are better places to get a Taiwanese style lunch I believe. I would try the dessert, but they seem awfully overpriced, but maybe I’ll splurge on one some day just for the sake of being able to review it. Nonetheless I thought the bubble tea was good, they mixed the sizes of the tapioca, which I appreciated since I dislike the larger bubbles. Also, unlike Café Princess nearby, the boardgames are FREE. Some people may find service inattentive, but I’m the type that enjoy being left alone, and the waitress was polite when she took my order, so they are A-OK in my books. The times I’ve been there, they are also really quiet, sometimes I’m even the only table there. I’ve never seen this place packed or noisy. However, if I remember correctly I think this place is cash/debit only, which may be a downer for some. Overall, nice place to hang out, and free wi-fi!

Not too bad. I love their milk tea, and they have the stamp card that would give you one free for every 4 large sized or 8 regular sized drinks. The place is convenient and comfort. The only problem is that the smoke from their frying machine would not go away and it smells bad after a while. I couldn’t stay there for a long time only because of the smell.

Not my most favourite bubble tea place in North York. Bubble tea was a bit expensive(even more expensive for pot tea). The food didn’t look very appetizing. However, you can get food and add $ 3.99 to get a tart(which they didn’t have) or a cake. Could’ve been better.

I know bubble tea can be expensive in Toronto, but this place is a little ridiculous. I paid $ 10.15 for two small original milk black tea with tapioca. I walked out feeling a little bit ripped off. The drink was watery and the tapioca was under cooked. Overall, the place is small and packed with students taking advantage of the free WiFi. I have never tried their food or dessert items, but based on the prices of mediocre bubble tea, I don’t think I’ll be back either way.

3.5 Star Hi Tea is definitely a step up from Teashop 168 in ambiance and vibe. Relatively new and one of those places you will miss it if you just drive by. Love the rustic looking tables… and the huge windows at the storefront… great to watch the world goes by when you sipping on something icy cold on a hot sunny day! Menu has the traditional bubble tea, slushes and loose leaf tea too. For food you may try their waffles/crepes or some Taiwanese pub food like popcorn chicken. Iced Milk Matcha and Red Bean Tea($ 3.99) definitely makes me feels like I am having a dessert. The beans is sweet, cooked to the right softness and still have some bite. You can request the level of sweetness for your drinks. Though I prefers they serves my drink in a glass cups instead of a plastic takeout cup though. Free Wifi, opens till 2AM on weekends. Free parking after 9 pm in the area… HiTea will be a great options if you looking for a place to relax and chill with your friends if you are in the area… Taiwanese pop songs maybe a little too loud though… I think I need a spoon. why am I trying to suck up all these red beans?
