First time visiting this place. Nice restaurant close to the ACC, hotels and so on. Food is typical pub fair. They have about 20 – 30 TVs all over the place so if the game is on any seat can have a view. The menu had pretty much a bit of everything for everyone. They had a good selection of craft beers, I tried 2 new to me and found them really good. My wife had a glass of house Chardonnay, and to be honest she was not all that fond of it. We started with the deep fried pickles, which were great! My daughter and I had wings, wife had a burger and son the bacon Mac n cheese. They were all served at the perfect temperature and we’re all to our liking taste wise. We finished the visit with salted Carmel molten lava cake. It was very good! The server was fast, friendly and very accommodating. I would not hesitate in recommending this place to anyone.

We live near this restaurant so we have been a number of times. The food is typical pub fare and is okay. The service is definitely lacking. We are always seated very quickly, we just do not get served quickly. Every time we have been here it gets worse. The last time we came with friends. We were seated right away. The server even brought our drinks quickly. We waited over half an hour for the server to come back and take our food order(it was not particularly busy). I finally asked another server if they could find ours. The same thing happened when we were finished our meal and wanted to pay. I had to get someone to find our server. If you want to come for a drink this place is fine. If you are looking for a meal, be prepared for a wait. UPDATE: So we have been back twice since this review and the service was definitely better. Clearly management is trying to make improvements.

It’s a pub in downtown Toronto. Dime a dozen in this city. I don’t consume the alcohol but decided to check it out with a group of coworkers in search of a quick bite in a location not too far from work. Had the special of the day — a tandoori chicken pita wrap. Was a little bland but again — it’s a pub. It’s in downtown Toronto. They don’t specialize in Indian food but it was a valiant attempt. Menu is filled with pub fare. Atmosphere was quite nice. A football(soccer) match of some sort was on, much to the delight of the three gentlemen at the bar. Service: very good service. Our attendant was friendly and service was fast.

I like Firkin as a chain… but honestly this location has terrible service… if your going to hire young employees, make sure they aren’t up until 5am partying then working a brunch shift before a jays game… 10 better locations for a pre jays brunch in the area

Do not come here after 5pm. They have no service around the bar. The hostess sat U.S. and place me yes in front of us because we we hungry. We waited for ½hr then went to the bar to order beer an nobody came to the table to take a food order. Sit at the bar because the rest of the restaurant does not matter one bit!

The food was really good. I had the firkin burger, which my family had the day before. The wait staff was nice and realized that we were not from here. The place has cool atmosphere. Very British. I suggest you get there early on a game night just to make sure you get the type of seating you would like. I will have to say the reason for it not being 5 stars is due to the fish and chips. The fish was overly battered and was a little cold. Overall enjoyed my experience.

Food: This place has standard pub fare. It is done pretty well. Been a few times and for what it is it’s tasty Service: Abysmal. The server we had got my order wrong, was unapologetic, didn’t place drink orders, made up an excuse, took 45 min to produce the bills after being asked. She truly did everything wrong that she possibly could and couldn’t have cared less. It seemed like management had the same disinterest. Would I return or go back? Absolutely not. Average food and terrible service don’t win repeat clients.

I live in the area so I’ve been here a few times– usually when I don’t want to eat at home but am too lazy to venture very far. It’s a big restaurant with lots of TVs playing sports and a large patio. Menu is fairly standard pub/bar fare. Nothing outstanding but nothing terrible either. They have some decent drink and food specials(skillet nachos are pretty good!). Overall, a good default place if you want something very low key.

Just finished a lovely corporate lunch with 20 of my colleagues. Sorry, 19 or my colleagues, one of them is still waiting for their food to come. Saying we’ve been here for two hours would be an exaggeration, it’s only been an hour and 45 minutes. We did speak to the manager and we were happy to hear that isn’t a special problem, it happens every Friday when the patio is open. We found the whole experience of having to shout out whose food is whose a fun and collaborative effort on our part, because the wait staff has no idea who each dish belongs to. I’d like to end this review with something positive, we positively will never return to this place.

Came here for lunch and a drink, got the mimosa and fish tacos. The mimosa was okay but the fish tacos(came in two) were so bad. The batter was so hard(way over crispy) that it was hard to bite and chew. Also, it was very bland and didn’t have any flavour at all. I couldn’t even finish it and I had them take it away. the service was decent. I also ordered the nachos with grilled chicken. It was okay, not special or memorable, probably would not order it again. Overall the experience(drink wise was good) but the food was terrible(at least the items I ordered). If you choose to go here, do not order the fish tacos, you will be very disappointed.

It’s a convenient place to grab a drink. There is a pool table and lots of seating. Lots of beer on Tap and many TVs to catch the game. I call this the poor mans alternative to Real Sports. The place is clean… washrooms are clean and maintained. The Staff are nice. I will go back when I need to meet people in the area. It’s not a destination bar — it’s a place to go for locals to get a pint and some food. I’m sure if I lived in that area I would be there a lot!

This is based only on a pint I had there before a raptors game. Went in was greeted immediately by the hostess. Told us the specials and asked where we would like to get seated. We took the bar. Bartender acknowledged us as soon as we sat down and had our drinks in front if us within 2 minutes. Great service. Place also looked really nice inside. I would go again and try the food next time.

Kinda hit or miss… food is typically good, but can go either way. Service is typically slow, but if the quality happens to be good it’s worth the wait. Even though they have been open for a few months, I think they are still getting into a Grove… once service speed is improved it will be significantly better.

The sheppards pie was pretty terrible. typically under the layer of mashed potatoes should be corn or peas and beef, instead it was a watery mix of beef and peas, seemed like it was heated from a frozen sheppards pie meal you would buy from the grocery store… it was hard to eat, It actually didn’t stay in my belly too long after! The fries are great, their poutines are great… but stay away from that sheppards pie!

Firkin on Harbour is a great alternative to the other bars in the area. It’s certainly much better than the Harbour Sports Grille which it replaced. Service was pretty good and not overly pushy with specials. There’s usually a 5 dollar alcoholic beverage on a particular day in addition to some sort of food deal. Food-wise, it was pretty good but somewhat standard pub fare. Burgers, fries, curry, sandwiches are all well represented here. Décor-wise, lots of seating, some booths, some tables, lots of British/English décor There’s a lot of screens around of varying sizes, I didn’t have much trouble seeing them, but I also wasn’t there to watch a game that day. Update: Patio is open! Nestled in a courtyard with the sounds of the nearby rumbling waterfall(which is really just a condo installation), the whooshing waterfall noises help provide some added sound therapy; its soothing sounds help temper emotions if your favourite sports team loses when you’re watching the game outdoors. My main complaint about the patio is that the umbrellas are all on the periphery. If you go during the day and get seated in the middle, your skin, along with your food, may become cooked.

I’m going to have to toe the line on this one and pretty much agree with what the previous reviews have said about Firkin on Harbour. It’s a solid place to go for a casual bite after work and /or before the game and easily one of the better places in an area that sort of had a dearth of options before. Furthermore it means I’ll never have to hit up Hoops before a Jays game ever again when coming from the office and for that I am eternally grateful. Right off the bat, the décor is quite nice although one should really expect this from a place that has just opened up it’s still nice to see. Clean, crisp and modern but not too sterile. It’s different and less rustic looking than most of the Firkin pubs and I can’t say that I really mind. I also appreciate the placement and number of televisions in the place… they’re adequate but not too in-your-face unlike a lot of these places. The patio area is quite nice as well(overlooking a nice little waterfall thingee) but seeing as it was a little toasty and a little sunny, we decided to sit inside, underneath a large photo of Brian Jones(I’m pretty sure it was Brian Jones). It wasn’t too busy yet(we got there about 5:15) and we were seated right away with no problem. Service was quite attentive and more than friendly. Again, I find it to be hit and miss with a lot of these places but the fellow we had was great. I chose their«Manchester Mojito» before dinner and after having tried it, I have no idea why I’ve never seen such a cocktail before because it’s a great idea. Basically just a mojito made with gin instead of rum and the thing was delicious… not as sweet but still a perfect summer drink. I’m seriously going to have to try replicating the thing. For dinner I went with the Black Bean Chipotle Burger and will second Tascioni’s assessment… it was delicious. It was a great non-soy patty(which I also do love) burger for us herbivores who crave their veggie burgers but want to try something different. The fries and onion rings were also quite good. My fiancée went with the Pan-Roasted Snapper(she approved) which was from their gluten-free menu(and was also dairy-free). Always makes me happy when places have that info on hand, especially when you have someone with those allergies. Definitely have to say that Firkin on Harbour is a great option in the area and is heads and shoulders above the rather dreary place that it replaced. Will definitely be back and would gladly do so even if I didn’t work around the corner. It’s a nice looking place, the prices are about in line with the area and the fact that they only charged $ 1.25 for a side of guac is pretty groovy.

This place opened recently. Clean, spacious and great service staff. The management honour and appreciate loyal customers. She remembers your drink and last visit and today even offerd a complimentary pint for our patronage. The food is pub food — not much to say there. The daily/themed specials offer a good run for your money. Kyra, one of the managers is approachable and makes personal connections. Great for a large group and you will love the patio in the summer!

This spot just opened near my office, thank goodness. This neighbourhood is kind of hurting for restaurant options(especially those that don’t break that bank), so the Firkin is a welcome addition. Vegetarians & vegans, rejoice: the Black Bean Chipotle Burger was DELICIOUS. I was skeptical when ordering, but pleased to discover that this is not your typical soy patty bullsh*t. This is an avocado-covered smokey bean delight. A meatless wonder! With fries!

Went to watch Game 6 of the Raptors/Nets Playoff series. It was a packed house, and still our server seemed to always be around when we needed her. The food was fine, but it’s the attentive and friendly service that gets the 4 stars. They have alot of television to watch sports, but no big screens which would have been nice. even the TV’s that they have around the bar could stand to be bigger. but maybe I just want that cause I’m blind and used to having a big screen 10 feet away from my face in my small condo.
