Have you ever wonder why there is this cemetery on Yonge Street just South of Finch in the jungle of Condos and Korean Restaurants?
Have you ever walk pass it in the middle of the night after a few soju and wondering maybe you should go and read the tombstones?
Cummer Burial Grounds a little piece of History of Willowdale.
The first settler Jacob Cummer immigrated from US back in the 1797. You can still find his grave in this cemetery. And of course you can find other Cummers that are buried in this plot of land, which is right next to the first chapel of Willowdale, the Cummer Chapel.
