No surprise that this place is closing. Overpriced, limited selection, and truly arrogant staff made this place an ordeal. Good riddance.

I popped in here today and saw the 35% off all books sign with another sign accompanying it «Store closing». I asked the manager if she was done for good and she told me that they’re closing their physical location downtown but will be open for their online show. So, if you’re looking for that one book that you can’t find at Amazon or Indigo, Books For Business may have it. You can visit their website and order from their Oakville warehouse. But take advantage of their sale today which will last until March 31.

True to its name, Books For Business stocks books for business. It’s located on the ground floor of the Richmond Adelaide Centre, accessible from Adelaide St east of York St. The shop itself is airy but small, like a middle school library. It took me about six minutes to survey the contents therein. I didn’t buy anything. You will find books on motivation, time management, stress, sales, marketing, management, and even a section on actuarial books. It’s definitely a non-stop party up in here. And unlike those *other* big box book barrels(you know what I’m talking about) all they sell here is books. No coffee mugs, no notepads, no Fabergé eggs, no bloody goat hearts. Just books. Sadly, some posted signage indicated that this store is going out of business. While I’m not sure if this is actually the case, it does mean that everything is significantly marked down. If you need a tome peppered with the words«effective» and«synergy» on the cheap get down to BFBASAP. Obligatory Title Pun: It’s BUSINESS time. Menu Readability: The hours of operation are on frosted glass if I recall correctly. Need to mention: They also have an online store. What this place teaches me about myself: I ain’t no bidness man.
