Great storefront location at Bathurst and King that one cannot miss it, especially with their large windows, they always have their merchandise neatly displayed of running gear.
Although the store is quite small, they carry everything that a runner may need from beginner to elite runners. Everything is well organized and the wall display offers a unique concept to showcase their merchandise.
The staff has always been friendly and helpful from the opening of the store a couple of years ago. They are quite knowledgeable, plus the owners/​staff members are all runners themselves, so definitely a very good sign of a store geared specifically for runners. And how fitting the name of the store, as every runner has experienced a black toe at some time in their running experience.
In addition, the store offers group runs and programs for all running levels. One would think it’ll be intimidating coming here if you’re not an experienced runner, but they do welcome everyone and have different pacing groups which will suit all running levels.

This year I wanted to get back into running and Black Toe has all your running needs. The entire store is devoted to running and the staff are all well experienced runners extremely eager to help and could answer any questions you may have and they have provided me with lots of helpful tips. They carry all the quality sporting/​running brands. I have always bought Nike shoes because they fit my narrow feet and felt the most comfortable, but I discovered that a pair of Sauconys was just perfect and felt better than all of the Nikes I have tried there.
The store is not big, but I really like the design of the store where most of it is built on a stair and ramp where you can try out running shoes in this mini inclined track. They have an extensive selection of running shoes and a few of the staff members spent a good 45 minutes helping me choose the right shoe for me.
In addition to shoes and running wear, they carry all kinds of gadgets, accessories and equipment that has to do with the sport.
The store also hosts community workshops and group runs in the evenings, suitable for all levels and it’s a great way of meeting like-​minded runners.
This is a great store for runners of any level and a nice edition to my neighbourhood.

This store has what runner’s need. Why go to Sport Chek, or National Sports when you can pay a few dollars more, get great service, and have very knowledgable people make sure a shoe is perfect on your foot.
Black Toe shines with knowledge. A new store to the west end, but seemingly doing well.
If you are an occasional — serious runner, go here to get your shoes. You will not be disappointed.
