Abstract has been around for a long time. I’ve been getting tattooed for a long time. I started the first of my «big» tattoos with a half sleeve by Bill Read at Abstract in 1997. Then i stopped for a few years but recently came back to get a beautiful piece from Elyse. I have big respect for this shop and ALL the artists that work here. Each has their own very unique and amazing artistic skills. And Stu is a cornerstone for the Tattoo community worldwide. Excellent service, amazing atmosphere and wonderful people. Couldn’t ask for more!

I think I’ve found my go-to piercing place in Toronto. I love the vibe in this shop, which is bright, open-concept, high ceilings — really welcoming and friendly, compared to a lot of other tattoo places which can be pretty intimidating. To be quite honest, I stumbled upon this place quite randomly. Went to FY Ink first but they didn’t have any piercers in that day, so we just went down the street to Abstract Arts. Don’t be fooled by the exterior which looks a little bit grungy — it’s super clean and sterile on the inside. Momma Roxy did tragus piercings for me and my friend, and she was awesome! She was super professional doing her job, chatted with us during the piercing process to ease our nerves, and showed us all the tools and jewellery in the packaging, so we could be assured of its cleanliness. Plus she also did a great job, the piercing process was quick and fairly painless. I think prices here are pretty reasonable too, the tragus piercing was $ 60 including the jewellery. The sign said it included tax, but I guess maybe that’s only if you pay with cash. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, because I love that the staff is so chill and friendly! Honestly, the vibe at FY Ink down the street was totally different, just tons of dudes lurking around and it was honestly a bit intimidating, so in the end I’m really glad we came to Abstract Arts. I’m positive I’ll be back here for future piercings and possibly even tattoos in the future!

Do not get pierced by Roxanne. I was pierced by her and my piercings were extremely botched and infected. Had to get them removed from within my skin from another artist. You’ve been warned.

Super friendly and wicked shop, Levi Barnett did an amazing realism half sleeve on my arm. Was my first tattoo and it came out 10x better than I expected, worth every penny. Cleanliness was spot on and they had a lot of passion for their work. The staff was extremely nice and humble, unlike other shops that can be more stuck up.

The piercing had trouble healing and the back kept coming out. Perhaps had to do with the cheap jewelery I chose. Finally, the whole stud came out in a Karaōke bar bathroom and I was too scared to try to put it back in right then. By the time I got home, it was healed! Ah well, guess I wasn’t meant to be a Marylin.

I personally loved this place. I was getting my first tattoo, and they were extremely nice and professional. I felt at ease(even though I was a bit nervous) because they were so accommodating. I had mine done by Mark and he was very friendly. The interior might not be as fancy as some other tattoo parlors, but the price is very reasonable. I think it is cheaper than many other tattoo parlors on Queen. I would highly recommend this place.
