We did two tours with west coast aquatics: the bear watching and the whale watching tour. Both were great. The staff was very friendly and during the trip the captain as well as a naturalist explained what we saw, why bears or whales could be found where we saw them etc. Very interesting. I think they have several vessels, but we were on the big boat for both trips. It was very steady which was important for me, as I get seasick very easily. We got a discount on both trips when we booked the second, which was very nice. We find West coast aquatics to be a very professional provider for trips in Tofino.

We had an incredible time with WCAS. Our troop of six ended up being the only booking for the afternoon ride up to the Hot Springs, a must do when you are in Tofino. Tony, our captain, was incredibly laid back, very easy to chat up, and gave us some interesting facts about the local wildlife as we zipped up to the springs. We saw a number of sea otters, dolphins, bald eagles, and two black bears. The ride through the inside Passage was both beautiful and eery as a fog descended around Clayoquot sound, lifting as we passed through Calmus Passage to show us the majestic mountains and scenery. If you are in Tofino and you want to do the Hot Springs or whale watching, go with WCAS, they are a great outfit. The boat could have easily held 12 – 14 comfortably, had both inside and outside seating and open decks to spot wildlife from, and they give you a very warm jacket to borrow for the ride. Really great experience! Don’t forget to tip your captain!

This is a first class outfit. Knowledgeable, friendly staff, large high speed boat gets you out to the action fast. They found bears quickly and gave us lots of time to observe momma and cub.

Josh was a great caption on the«safari» to the hot springs, stopping along the way to show us the gray whales, seals, sea otters. He was so very accommodating and when we decided to take a sea plane for the return, he made the arrangements while we were«soaking» in the wonderful hot springs. The boat was tops with seating outdoors(above the cabin) as well as indoors, plus a restroom. It was a great trip/experience. The staff in the office was also very helpful and friendly.

Very nice outfit. Nice boat with indoor and outdoor seating. Very good captain. We rode up the coast to a feeding ground and found one gray whale feeding. Lots of bald eagles. Warm suits to wear.
