Holiday Inn Express Stellarton-New Glasgow

As the commercials go, you’ll feel smarter when you stay at a Holiday Inn Express. That is most definitely the case when you stay at this Holiday Inn Express. Upon check-​in, I was given complimentary chocolate and water by the desk clerk (I’m also a Rewards Club member). The hotel looks very new, I’m guessing it was built over the last couple of years, plus it is conveniently located off of the highway.
My room was very clean and very spacious, plus it had plenty of amenities. I decided to take a dip in the hotel’s indoor pool, which also features a water slide. My only complaint about that the pool was too shallow in the area that people would enter the pool from sliding. Continental breakfast was good and plentiful. Do consider staying here if you’re passing through this part of Nova Scotia and need a hotel room for a night.

Check in was efficient and courteous. I booked online but was not given my company’s corporate rate. So I inquired about this and it was mentioned it would be done for the morning. When I had the folio under my room correct price was done.
This HIEX has a newer feel to it being not very old. I had booked a King suite room which was on the first floor and was good in size and comfortable. The room had a microwave and fridge which is convenient for families.
Breakfast was your typical HIEX offerings. Cereal, powdered gross eggs (avoid unless you are a hungry or desperate soul), yoghurt, bananas, sausage and other offerings. Juice and coffee was also avaliable. Really for a free breakfast you have nothing to complain about (unless you are one of those types of fussy eaters). I however wouldn’t pay for this.
Overall a good stay and definitely I’d stay here again while in the area.
