Free Samples! Enough said, but will give a review I first went here 10 years ago, and it’s still as good as ever Order the turtle cheesecake ice cream. literally like a piece of cheesecake stuck in a waffle cone Recommended, a St. John’s classic

Great name for an ice cream shop! I was told by a local friend this is the place to come for ice cream. Lately I’ve been enjoying different ice cream flavours so I was looking forward to testing out some Newfoundland Ice cream! The evening we came here was slightly cold and a very windy night(typical windy NF night). When Its super cold it’s not really the mood for ice cream but I have had ice cream in colder weather! The store location is just up the hill from downtown. My local friends mentioned that the specialty is the turtle cheesecake ice cream. Also mentioned was the soft serve is really good and different from your regular soft serve. So, the choice was one scoop turtle cheesecake on a waffle cone. Delicious, creamy and not too sweet. A great finish to the evening after dinner. They also have containers to take home if you just need some moo moos!

Not my first choice for ice cream in town, but I do love their Turtle Cheesecake flavour! Very delicious. And it’s less of a convenience store now and more of a traditional parlour, with seating in the back. I’ll never say no to Moo Moos :)

To the haters: You need to check this place out post-reno. They are no longer a convenience store. Ice cream only. And they’ve added a couple of tables in the back to create a parlour-type atmosphere. The ice cream is incredibly creamy. And they have at least thirty hard ice cream flavours on display. I had the skor and turtle cheesecake and goddamn they were good. With a waffle cone, it came to $ 5 even, which is on the expensive side of life, but well worth it! The only downside(and this is clearly due to their yumminess) — You’re gonna have a helluva time trying to find parking. The lot is always full to the brim.

Moo Moo’s is a total local phenomenon. The service was mediocre — a few young noobs that couldn’t tell me what was in the Turtle Cheesecake aka, their signature ice cream/and most popular ice cream. I’m still wondering what was in it exactly, but it’s quite unique. It was the hottest day in St. John’s in five years the day, I made my way there, so not a lot of flavours were on offer. After speaking to a few Newfies, I’m told soft serve at Moo Moo’s is the way to go. Pro Tip!

The building’s Holstein paint job makes it easy to «spot» and is probably the best form of advertisement. The day I visited, they were serving 6 flavors of premium ice cream and a few soft serve options. I can only vouch for the«Perfect Score» ice cream(vanilla with Skor candy bar) which was more than decent. There were some other interesting choices including«Turtle Cheesecake» and«Sour Cherry.» I recommend shelling out the extra cash for the waffle cone. It was very tasty and perhaps even homemade. The shop was situated to serve about 15 flavors simultaneously, but only 6 were being used. It would have been nice to see a bit more variety. They also recently increased prices due to rising dairy costs. That’s obviously not their fault, but it still impacts the consumer. Ice cream is fantastic in any weather but especially so on one of the few days it hits 25C in St. John’s. When the weather is that great, be prepared to wait a few minutes for your frosty treat. Whatever the weather, I suggest you weather it and get mooving to Moo Moo’s.
