Sandwich is mediocre at best even for st johns standards. Overpriced as well. Chicken sandwich starts at 9.49 ends at 12 – 13 bucks. I would rather recommend dropping down to montana’s instead for the lunch trio @9.99 or going to breens for a turkey sandwich with fries

Manna is a really neat place, you can get everything from bread and sandwiches to cook wear. I was really surprised that they carried rice bread at their deli. The bread is a little bit crumbly but tastes great. They are very generous with the mayo and have carrots and olives as sides for their sandwiches. From what I have heard it’s best to go during non peak hours as it can get very very busy.

Honestly, the sandwiches are good. Very good. But come on… $ 8 base price for a sandwich? It wasn’t THAT good. Add ‘special’ bread, cheese and a drink and you’re at $ 13/$ 14 after tax. $ 14 for a sandwich? And to wait 30 minutes or more in a crazy-ass-super-long line for a $ 14 sandwich… Not. Again.

Manna, hands down, has the best sandwiches in St. John’s. They have a very nice selection of sandwich options with a lot of fresh-baked bread options. I’ve been here many of times and I’m always very satisfied with my order. They also have some delicious dessert options and, of course, fresh bread that you can have sliced and take home. The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 is because I find their service is most often painfully slow. But, when the food is as good as it is you go back despite the wait. If I’m organized enough I will order online a head of time to avoid the long lines.

Ok place for a sandwich, but they need to do something with their setup. Just too amateurish. It is almost like the non bakery aspect of the business is very secondary. I usually get the roast turkey sandwich. It is great when the turkey is fresh. Every now and then it is a fee days old and too dried to eat. If they would step up their game this could be the best lunch spot in town.

Wow! Roast beef sandwich on sourdough was superb, all the ingredients here are fresh and top notch. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but as soon as you walk through the door the aromas from the bakery will convince you you’ve made the right choice — highlight of our time in St Johns!!!

I had a Manna sandwich one day when we ordered in from work. It was so delicious! Reminiscent of a shop in Halifax I used to frequent a lot. I’ll definitely be going back to Manna!

Visited this place while visiting in St John’s for work. Tried ordering a sandwich, and I was told they had no Swiss cheese, defeating the purpose of the sandwich in itself. Therefore, I changed my option and was told they had no tomatoes either, which was ultimately not a big deal. Long story short, employees were also not very familiar with the soups, in addition to not even having side dishes or chips to accompany my meal. On the contrary to the service, the sandwich was pretty tasty. I would recommend.

Great place for a quick lunch, or breakfast(they offer a $ 5.00, taxes in, continental breakfast!). I split a crispy chicken sandwich on pretzel bread and it was enough for me. They have a great selection of desserts and freshly baked breads as well.

Manna is a good place to grab a sandwich, a bowl of soup or a loaf of bread. Check it out if you’re in the neighbourhood.
