Parkside is a quiet little gem in Squamish. Mandy(our waitress) greeted us as we walked in and made us feel like we where right at home. The food was awesome and the service fantastic. Definitely try the crème brûlée and the ribs,

I have lived in the Sea To Sky Corridor for over 5 years and or some reason I have never eaten at the Parkside. Ive missed a nice cozy place situated right in the downtown core of Squamish. Don’t be fooled by the exterior it is a clean, renovated resto with warm chocolate finishes and a nice bar that would be a good place to slide up to for a local brew, which they offer, that day it was the Garibaldi micro brew on tap. I went for lunch with the Scotsman, he ordered the standby«I’ve never eaten in this place before so I am playing it safe» fish and chips, which was on special for $ 12.95 it included fries, salad(Caesar allowed) or soup. He choose a half salad, half fries deal and with his two pieces of freshly battered Cod came tartar, lemon and practically a full serving of thick cut fries and Caesar salad. Nice lunch for a hungry Scot :) I ordered the scallop bruschetta which included a mixed green salad and four scallops stacked on marble rye rounds with Roma tomato, pesto and perfectly cooked scallop balanced on top with melted cheese(I forget the type of cheese, possibly parm) and of course balsamic reduction edged the plate as a yummy garnish. The service was friendly and they had a small tv mounted to the wall showing the football so the Scotsman was very comfortable.

I didn’t know what to expect as we stopped in for lunch on our way back to Vancouver from Whistler. I have to admit, I did pre-judge this place based on the exterior, which made me think of a dive and dive quality food. Fortunately, the food here is amazing. We had the chowder and the foot long hot dog wrapped in bacon. I normally never eat hot dogs, but something about the description on the menu made it irresistible. We ate every last bit of food on our plates, even the garnish. Don’t let the exterior fool you, there’s some really amazing food on the inside.

While driving up to Whistler on the Sea to Sky Highway, this is definitely a pit stop you want to make for lunch. This tiny little restaurant appears to be on its own block with very limited seating, approximately 10 tables if I remember correctly. There’s one waitress, and one cook I think. The food is delicious and full of flavor. My wife’s grilled Bassa sandwich was full of flavor and filled with some tasty array of vegetable. Definitely a healthier choice than my deep fried fish and chip platter. You get to choose the type of fish you get with your order. Bassa, Cod, or Haddock. I’ve never had haddock before, so I gave it a try. Should’ve stuck with the cod as the haddock was bit more flaky than I would like in a fish and chip. Next time, I’m ordering the Grilled Bassa Fish Sandwich. Now i’m hungry reminiscing the meal.

Very friendly, intimate, and the food is excellent. There’s an outdoor patio with a view of the Chief for those days when it’s not raining in Squamish — one of my top 4 restaurants in Squamish

OK, but no better than that. We ordered the Linguine from the special menu and the haddock and chips from the regular menu. For drinks we ordered coke and tea. The tea tasted of dish soap, so did the replacement. We gave up. The coke was fine. This means the tea dishes were not adequately rinsed, this should no have happened a second time. On the other side of this I’d have rinsed everything in boiling water to be certain it didn’t happen again, so I don’t think it is unfair or unreasonable to expect the same from ‘professionals’. The linguine was decent, not great, but certainly edible. When my haddock turned up it was some chicken dish. I should have held on to it. Some time later, after my wife had eaten most of her meal because I wouldn’t let her wait and eat hers cold, the right meal turned up. This was badly handled, a customer should not be put in the position of watching others eat because he was brought the wrong meal. They should have taken both back or brought me something like an appetizer tp keep me involved. I could have chosen to be really irritated about this. The haddock seemed to be a commercial pre-packaged meal like I could have bought from the freezer section of any supermarket. The batter was soft and tough, which made me wonder if it had been microwaved, it didn’t seem fried or baked. The fries were uniform enough to be machine made and the salad seemed likely to have come out of a bag, it seemed too uniform and also limp. I do not think either the fish or the salad was what I would call fresh. The waitress was friendly but she’d have been doing me a great favor if she had offered to let me keep the chicken. Despite all this I wouldn’t call this a bad restaurant, but three stars is giving them the benefit of the doubt. For restaurant prices I expect food that looks like they made it, rather than something I could have fished out of the freezer myself.

Delicious, balanced, pretty meals. Definitely above average. They must have a pretty good cook on staff– one that cares about flavor and presentation. We would definitely go back.

They label themselves as Canadian food but Unilocal doesn’ t have that option. Anyway, it’s located on the edge of Squamish’s downtown district. Patio seating is really nice. As for the food — what a pleasant surprise in a small town. Healthy options, lots of fish, and the presentation is incredible, perhaps a little over the top. Really nicely done though. For example, our meals were garnished with Cape Gooseberries(I think that’s what they were called.) I got the blackened cod or something like that(a special.) It came on top of risotto cake along with vegetables. Wow. They did not skimp on the vegetables which were fantastic. And, the risotto cake was a very pleasant surprise. Kind of like a hashbrown patty made out of risotto.(I’m not a fan of risotto so was really impressed with it.) We also got the brushetta, blackbean soup and coho fish and chips — all was very good. Overall, a really nice experience.
