Beacon is packed to the brim with books. Extremely specific and well labeled special interest sections(varying from nautical tales to comics and pretty much everything in between) will keep you browsing through the previously loved and vintage spines for a good long while if you have the time and curiosity. There is even an entire room in the back full of lovely books on Country Living with guides on tending farms and spiral bound community efforts(one of them entitled«The Cotton Picker’s Cookbook»). Beyond books though, Beacon also holds a veritable treasury of vintage postcards from all over the world(again, painstakingly preserved and categorized). Under the cash register, the glass case of miniature figures and tchotchkes are lovingly displayed, but have garage sale prices. There is a lot to take in here. Take your time and open up your mind to something new(or old)!
