Well Tea is another alternative to Pearl Castle as it also serves BBT and small Taiwanese snacks and meals. Their food and quality is not bad with fair pricing and normal service. Their renovations and decorations are up-to-date and well kept. I would probably like to see more special drinks and meals/snacks that other Taiwanese BBT place does not offer to attract more customers. Parking available inside plaza.

Go to place for deep fried chicken nuggets and fried rice and bubble tea. My friends and I always end up here day or night LOL4 stars because service is just okay, but that’s expected!

Awesome place to come for a drink and chat — I was with my family(~10 people?) on a Sunday mid-afternoon and there was room for us and more. HUGE selections of drinks – they have an entire separate menu for it – teas, milk teas, juices, cold/hold etc.(I don’t think I saw any coffees though…). We each got something separate and shared with each other, and each drink had its own unique, special flavour. I got the peach lemon juice(?) and liked it quite a lot. They also have a one-pager for vegetarian food(their veggie fried rice and noodles were THEBOMB — highly recommend). Cons are it’s sliiiightly pricey and the service is kiiiind of on the slow side. But that’s okay, because I had a good time there and their drinks are really good.

Been to this place several times before but I don’t come often because the parking situation is far from ideal. They share a small lot with a bunch of other businesses in a small complex, so it’s really hard to find parking. That aside, the food & drinks offered here are of the standard Taiwanese bubble tea café style. I’ve tried a bunch of dishes here before and most of them are average in taste — not bad but not great either. Large open space with lots of tables, pretty good for big groups. But ever since they removed the table buzzer system, the service has declined to almost non-existent.

This place is within walking distance from Aberdeen station by 6 — 10 minutes. I came here with my girlfriend who wanted to have some girl time with me. I had dessert and sweet drinks as I wasn’t feeling too adventurous with the rest of the menu. I had bubble tea, however, it wasn’t the best bubble tea that I have had in Richmond. It tasted a bit too thin to me which was odd considering that there was no ice in my drink. So why didn’t it taste creamy like the other places that I have tried. The prices were average as all other Bubble tea places. There was no lack in flavor and or pearls but was a little concerned about the consistency. There was a bit of a language barrier, therefore, didn’t question it to much as maybe different places make their bubble tea differently? I have no problem with them using powder mixes vs. real fruit. I have had both variations many times. There is a lot of seating inside, service was fast and the overall prices were very reasonable. Cash is recommended.

One of my favorite spots in Richmond! Well Tea is a great spot to catch up with friends. For food: I recommend the seafood hot pot, beef teppanyaki, and fried seafood udon! For drinks: I recommend the ovaltine slush and tangerine green tea The service is speedy and there’s never that many people so it’s a great place to chill with friends. Also they’re open till very late throughout the week so it’s perfect for night owls! There’s always parking too :)

We come here a lot as they can accommodate large groups. We always order the sukiyaki hotpot and fried rice with deep fried chicken nuggets which the kids really enjoy(watch out for the huge dose of MSG in the nuggets). We are sometimes disappointed when we stray from our favorites. Service could be better. They should have more servers that are more attentive. We’re always asking for water or something that is needed. No credit cards.

One of the best bubble tea in Richmond. I usually order fresh taro milk tea with bubbles, I love the fresh taro chunks, they are soft and some are flaky… the bubbles are chewy and not too sweet The hot foods are quite good too, especially the spicy or original Taiwanese chicken nuggets, soooooo yummy

I don’t find this place too special. The few times I’ve been here, none of the teas I’ve had stood out to me. I have definitely had better with all the bubble tea locations in Richmond. The milk teas here are made with powder flavoring, and the only milk tea that has a real ingredient is the Fresh Taro Milk Tea. However, when I tried it, it was just taro powder milk tea, with 3 chunks of frozen taro in it. I don’t like the taste of powder teas and would prefer to go to places such as Memory Corner, Chatime, or Fairbee for teas that have fragrant flavors and a deeper tea taste. I also had a chicken fried udon here and a popcorn chicken fried rice. Not too good and the flavors in both dishes were lacking.

Solid spot despite the lack of parking spots. When I want to get my bubble tea drank on, I go… to pearl castle… But when that place is packed, I like to get my boba hit from this joint. Fancy décor. The seating capacity must be like 100 but the parking capacity for there store is not… Apple green milk tea. Decent. Typical powder bubble tea taste. I’m not huge on the boba powder taste overall, but I still find myself getting my boba drank on. Not much to really say… the place is functional.

I like the setting of the restaurant and the dishes we’ve ordered. The dish with sticky rice and pig blood is new to me and I like it.

I used to come here quite often like at least 4 times a month. I have to say when they first opened the drinks were good. Best of all, they open late. But now because of the competition, I prefer other places. But I have to say, last time I was here, I ordered the toast box and it was really delicious. It had lots of filling. Green tea ice cream, red beans, green beans, condense milk, chocolate, etc. yummy. So far, they have the best toast box on my list. But for drinks, I recommend elsewhere especially some places in Richmond gives 50% off drinks after a certain(10pm)

this tea house is quite spacious but doesnt offer anyhting spectacular. the food is quite usual taiwanese fare and the service is quite slow compared to similar bbt establishments. came in recently to relax and talk to some friends over some drinks. friends ordered 2 iced drinks while i ordered a honey chry. logan hot tea. my. friends drinks came first and mine followed some.15mins later. i was not happy that it took 15 mins to boil some water and pour it into a teapot. even more so when the restaurant is empty… their drinks menu also lacks variety compared others, so keep that in mind when you want something mango. Unimpressed Two, out of Five.

Always try and convince Hannah to stop here before we head to the movies so we can grab a milk tea with grass jelly for the theater.(yah we break the rules don’t like you haven’t). This is probably one of my top picks for bubble tea but mostly the food. The chicken nuggets are my favourite and they don’t make me feel like crap after. Much like other BBT places they don’t accept credit, only debit or cash — inconvenient but at least they take debit I guess. Call and order in advance if you’re picking up because if you order when you get in it takes a while since they’re also serving in house customers.

I used to frequent Well Tea with college friends back in 2006-07 when I was new to Richmond but gradually lost interest as I explored more of the city. Recently I’ve rediscovered the place as I was looking for somewhere to take my partner for a midnight snack one night. Admittedly we have not tried too many menu items; only maybe 1 out of 5 of our visits have been for dinner. We usually get chicken nuggets and sausage, which are pretty hard to mess up, and the Ovaltine toast is rather nice as well. I enjoy the fact that some of their hot teas are served in tea pots. My partner likes their aloe and passionfruit teas. We’ve also had hotpots, and some of their set meals for dinner — not spectacular but good familiar flavors. I tried the fried chicken skin once and it didn’t seem to have spent enough time in the fryer as is was not crunchy and very greasy(or perhaps the oil was not hot enough?). It was a bit unpalatable but the serving was also quite large and I ended up bringing the remaining 1⁄3 of it home but of course fried things don’t usually make good leftovers. The service can be hit or miss. At least once we had gotten more than halfway through the meal and drinks still have not arrived, or that one of the entrees — usually mine, as fate has it — comes out way too long after the first one does. Sometimes the servers do not notice my waving for their attention, even though the place is never full when we go(odd because come to think of it, the place always seemed to be packed in my uni days). One large improvement though is that they have started taking debit cards as of maybe two months ago. They also have wifi and it’s not unusual to see people with their computers there. All that said, we are regulars and will continue to be as Well Tea makes a good quiet spot for a lazy post-dinner drink and bite.

This place could easily be a 4 to 5 stars. The food here is actually quite good and always made fresh. The drinks are good too, and especially the hot ones they come in large pots. I usually get their hotpot selection and the crispy chicken starter snack. It’s always consistant and tasty especially the tomato beef broth. The only problem is with their service, it is extremely slow on the server side and extremely slow on the food coming out side too. I would say if you have time to kill and like Taiwanese casual cuisine then this place is a pretty solid choice.

Wow how do you mess up deep fried foods and simple Taiwanese food? So I came here for their box toast and left… with no box toast in my tummy. Very sad. In all fairness the server did say it would take 20−25minutes, but I waited 45 and still no toast so I had to leave, no biggie but the other food ticked me off. Had the deep fried chicken skin and the sweet and sour pork combo that came with three SMALL dishes, which were smaller than Korean SMALL dishes by the way. Chicken skin was severly burnt from over-frying and it was so salty, beyond belief. It’s pretty hard to mess up deep frying chicken skin ok? The sweet and sour pork was probably the worst I’ve ever had, even worse than the sweet and sour pork I tried in texas. can you imagine? The pork was boiled and thrown into a presumably canned or bottled sauce. Ew. Anyways so we waited for the toast and waited, gulping down water and tea to counter the salt overload. And we waited again and asked at the 30 minute point and the girl said, it’ll be around 10 minutes. So we wait. And 15 minutes later… um where’s my toast I have to go. And she runs and check and comes back with a toast that is… not for my table… great. I’m a bit reluctant though to not have eaten the toast because I saw the«cook» bring out an unprepared toast, cut it in the middle of the dining room with his bare hands and a knife and throw it on a possibly unsanitized table. Yum.

This place is very good for large groups. The food is only so-so in my opinion but they sure do Bubble Tea very good! My Ferrero Roche bubble tea tasted exactly like the Candy! I can’t wait to come back and try the other candy flavours like Kit Kat. Not sure if I would come for the food. But the Bubble Tea, certainly yes I would!

Nice quiet Taiwanese eatery in Richmond. We went overboard and ordered 4 main courses and 2 snacks for 2 people. Check photo for reference. –Honey Black Tea with pearl –Ma Po Tofu –Sliced Pork –Fatty Pork –Turnip Cake –Fish balls All decent. I definitely noticed the waitresses look of astonishment and we definitely got some stares from the other tables. I would definitely recommend it if you are craving Taiwanese food BUT the only major complaint I had was that the drinks were too sweet and it was pretty obvious that it was not naturally flavored! BTW if you are looking for a sophisticated environment please avoid this place!
