Sunday night fam jam dinner. My parents love spicy food and I was warned to be careful of lava coming out of my ass in the morning if I came here. Well, this is a perfect choice for dinner then! At this point I can happily say it will be well worth it if that’s the case. ‘The Little Restaurant’ is a heat and chilli pepper lover’s paradise serving up authentic and delicious Szechuan cuisine. They do not skimp out on their use of chili oil, a wide variety of chilli peppers, garlic and other seasonings. Typical of this region’s food offerings, dishes are quite oily and salty, so be weary if you have high blood pressure, oily skin etc. The most astounding dish of the night was a plate of sautéed cubed chicken with large chunks of jalapeño peppers — all of which are edible and are not as daunting to swallow as it appears. The trick was that we had started off with a few dishes topped with mountains of red chilies and by the time the jalapeños came, the spice level was a notch lower than the rest and successfully deceived our tastebuds. The second most interesting dish of the night was called ‘I don’t effing know how to translate’. You can check out my photos for this chilled dish. :)
