HORRIBLE Company! Sent a signed confirmation with credit card info on September 2^nd to proceed with catering for a bbq on September 12^th. That same day Stanley asked me to reconfirm before he processed the 50% deposit as it was non-​refundable. Of course as no one has money to throw down the drain, I asked what our options were in the event of cancellation in case it rained, as guests would not attend. If we could transfer the event to the office and still get the food. Stanley replied that yes the food could be delivered to the office. Given the labour day long weekend and I took September 3^rd to the 8^th Off. I didn’t get a chance to reply to emails until September 9^th — under the assumption that the deposit had been charged and we were confirmed I replied to Stanley that we had «nothing to worry about as it will be sunny».
To my surprise, he replies today, September 10^th saying «We did not receive your confirmation on this order and proceeded to accept other confirmed bookings for Saturday. We are now no longer available for Saturday September 12^th.»
NOT ONE PHONE CALL made to let me know that he was considering catering another event — even though my cell phone is in the confirmation which he received. Before taking on a new order the least he could do is MAKE A PHONE CALL to reconfirm if needed.
So I called him today and he starts obnoxiously arguing with me that I never replied to his last email and said «…I don’t call customers to reconfirm. We get so many orders.» To which I said «wait on what? I sent you the fully filled, fully signed confirmation on September 2^nd». I said «it’s okay, thank you» and hung up, as quite frankly I have better things to do than argue with an irresponsible person.
Stanley seems to have forgotten that telephones still work and exist, and things can be communicated and confirmed in one minute. In situations like these, email may not be the best way. And you definitely SHOULD CALL YOUR CUSTOMER BEFORE BOOKING SOMEONE ELSE AND NOT CANCEL 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE VIA EMAIL!
Like I told Stanley via my last email reply before I wrote this review, we found a reputable company to cater to our corporate event. The Manager CALLED me, and we were done in less than 10 minutes. Menu, payment, location, logistics, all done in 10 MINUTES!

Stanley who is the chef/​owner is very friendly and accomodating. I have ordered from The Healthy Chef for catered lunches of sandwiches/​wraps, soups and desserts a number of times.
Their turkey breast with cranberry chutney, the salmon wrap as well as the turkey breast and basil pesto are delicious (wish I had a bigger stomach to try the other sandwiches). Their corn chowder was very comforting and people loved the chicken noodle.
Don’t hesitate to order them for office lunches or other events. You won’t be disappointed.

I’m surprised that The Healthy Chef hasn’t had more reviews! My husband and I recently hired Stanley and his staff to prepare a BBQ meal for our family reunion and we were both incredibly impressed!
Stanley arrived at the venue and delivered the food about 20 minutes early (I always say it’s better to be 20 minutes early than two minutes late!) and was completely prepared. The food he and his crew prepared was beautifully arranged, incredibly delicious and there was more than enough for everyone. Most people went for second helpings and no one left hungry!
All evening, various family members were constantly commenting on how great and tasty the food was. It was definitely an impressive feast! Stanley was easy to work with, professional and very kind. He also was quick to respond to emails, questions or inquiries that I had throughout the process. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Healthy Chef and I would definitely use them again in the future!

Stanley the owner is a great chef and an easy going guy. We have the Healthy Chef cater most of our office functions, plus I have had them cater lunches I have hosted downtown. Amazing broiled salmon over linguini, and their curry chicken sandwiches are the bizzomb. Nice charcuterie plates too.

We hired the Healthy Chef to cater our housewarming/​wedding reception and they were great in every respect. Elena, the lady whom I spoke with on the phone, was extremely friendly and helpful. I had never hired a caterer before, and she helped me make all the right decisions in terms of meal choices and quantities while sticking to the budget constraints I laid out. Mika, the server, arrived on time and in no time had a beautiful spread laid out. Cleanup was a breeze since Mika helped us pack everything away. Almost everyone commented on how delicious the food was — the salmon was a real hit and the fruit kebabs with chocolate were delish. The portions were very generous and their prices are very reasonable no matter what, but especially considering the quality of their food. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone… and I wouldn’t have to think twice about hiring them again! I guess I will never have to look for another caterer as long as they are around.
