Worst. Bartending. Ever. My beer had more character than my server. Seems to be a Moxies trend across the country… hiring boring servers that are more interested in socializing with each other or checking their phones than serving actual customers. If I ran my business like this, I’d be out of work tomorrow.

Poor service. Waitress first week and left alone! Food was cold and sub par. Steep stairs up to poorly maintained washroom. Food took about 40 minutes from ordering to getting to table, but got the cold meal after complaining. Dont waste your time or money.

I went there for lunch on New Years Eve. I was greeted by a wonderful hostess to my table. Breanne was prompt and fast to attending to my service. She was delightful and enthusiastic and was completely amazing. She checked in with me a thoughtful amount of times. I was them presented with my dish that tasted great! I was in a rush to get back to work and Breanne brought my check right away. Wonderful service.

This was a pretty good find to celebrate the end of a business trip in BC. Liked the beers and the junk which goes along with it too… lol.

I’ve been to Moxie’s twice now. The first time, I was pleasantly surprised because I was there on their wing night, which is quite a value. They have a variety of flavors to choose from like Buffalo Wild Wings. The wings were juicy, but the sauces were all kind of on the sweet side. Teriyaki and honey garlic were almost indistinguishable. The dining room and bar was nicely decorated. Service was polite and prompt, although I was perplexed by being served a StrongBow over ice with a straw and a lime in it. No biggie though. The second time I ordered pot stickers and the teriyaki beef bowl. This was after I was passed from different server to different server to place a to-go order. I was pleased that they offered a 10 percent discount for my company. Once my order was taken, the woman helping me was very pleasant. But, it would have been nice to been offered a seat at the bar while I waited, or a glass of water or something. I just stood there awkwardly in my rain-soaked coat waiting an excessive amount of time in their hallway since there were no chairs. Everyone kept thinking I was in line for the bathroom or something. Now onto the real reason for the two star review, everything I ate was worse quality than Panda Express. How can a city with such a huge Asian population get away with serving pot stickers and a teriyaki dish that inedible? The other perplexing thing is that they serve teriyaki-flavored wings, but the sauce on my teriyaki beef bowl was definitely not a teriyaki I recognized. It tasted like that horrible canned fake La Choy Chinese food families in middle America served in the 1970s. And it was just as salty too! The beef, which they upcharged me for, was tough and gray. It looked like the undesirable cuts for a stew that would cook over a long period of time. The potstickers were no better. These were definitely the frozen Costco variety. I know they tasted familiar and there’s a Costco up the street. Hmmm? Anyway, they also gave me two sauces with it. One was a vaguely soy-chili sauce. The other? Some kind of sweet salsa. That was just weird. Overall, totally underwhelmed by the experience. It’s too bad too because I stay here often for work. They could have had a regular. The other reviewer was right. It’s totally on par with TGIFRIDAYS or Applebee’s except it’s pricier. For over $ 28, I definitely got a meal that was less tasty than mall or airport Chinese/Japanese. I really don’t get how they could mess up something so simple as teriyaki beef! Maybe I just ordered wrong, but I don’t care to try this place again to find out. When I got back to my room, my stomach became upset an hour or two after eating here. I definitely had to run to the restroom a couple of times if you know what I mean. Never again. Sorry, Moxies. I won’t be back.

The white chocolate brownie dessert is the reason to go here. It’s actually a pretty busy location but I don’t think it’s really that great. The service is good but the food is just ok. I really wish it were better. The restaurant is pretty old. It needs a change.

The service was fantastic and the food was just as great. We started out with the sweet chili chicken which was so delicious and then I had the mango chicken which is probably the best thing on the menu. Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable and the whole staff were always checking in to make sure things were good. Perfect dining experience. We will be back for sure and recommending this restaurant to all of our friends

Can we give negative stars? This was the most unappetizing breakfast I have ever ordered and thus there are no pictures. For 27 $ I received the Mediterranean scramble(horrendously thrown together), old toast, plain early grey and the 4 ½$ worth of fresh fruit: half a sour orange, a strawberry, and the thinnest slice of pineapple ever cut.

Funny story here: I was out on a training module for my sales job in that neck of the woods. There were five of us, including the sales trainer and a new person. We were all a bunch of Asians(sorry) learning about new KitchenAid appliances at the Home Depot on Sweden Way. The ‘class’ started at around 9:20 am and ended around noon-ish. Our trainer then announced he would treat us for lunch. I suggested phở as there were lots of phở places around, maybe one phở restaurant every third building in Richmond? But he wanted to do Moxie’s. Fair enough. The new person(what we call in our group our MARS rep) drove me over there so we wouldn’t take too many cars. He explained that although phở is popular and yummy to Asians, our trainer didn’t really want to ‘cheap out’ on lunch, make it worth while. Hence, the decision to do Moxies. The company we all represented would be ‘expensing’ it anyways. The one thing that surprised and delighted me is how easy it is to avoid gluten. It would be nice if the menu had denotations on which items were gluten free but I was able to assess it by menu descriptions and make decisions by asking questions. I ultimately chose the Chipotle Chicken with Mango. Avocado garnish, one beautifully steamed stem of bok choy and a bed of quinoa were the supporting players in this dish. The dish was beautifully presented and prompt to arrive. All our orders arrived in a very prompt manner. In my dish, the flavors and textures balanced each other perfectly, chicken nicely grilled. The quinoa was fantastic too. In fact, everything about the dish was perfect. On the plated, it appeared to be small but I was full. Great service, ambiance complemented the experience and I fully recommend this spot.

[Casual Birthday Friday] Moxie’s was the only«acceptable» place that could accommodate a party of 15 on a Friday evening with a few days notice. Although it was 24th on my list, it actually got the job done. The restaurant décor is not quite like Joey’s or Milestones — rather, a really really nice white spot. There’s ample seating for 60 or 70 and a small patio to boot. I perused the menu and decided to start with the calamari and a beef dip with side salad as my main. I also got the shock top ale. The calamari was plump and juicy and was accompanied by a sweet chili dip. The beef dip was pretty standard and similar to what I’d get at White spot. Value-wise, my entire bill came out to under $ 40 everything in. Not too shabby! I was pretty stuffed in the end which I’d consider a Win as I have hollow legs. Service wasn’t spectacular but our server was friendly and got the job done. Moxie’s is good for what it is — decent food at a reasonable price. I had a good experience but if you go in with the same expectations as the Keg or Earls, you may be sorely disappointed.

Moxies is a great go to place for lunch or dinner. The food is always consistent and pretty good. The service is great. I usually travel alone, so I prefer to sit at the bar. Prices are a little high on a few items, but that is normal for all of BC. I’ve eaten here quite a few times and will continue to do so.

Not a good representation of other Moxies I have been to. Out of three of us two got our food at same time we sat there for 10 min not eating since we felt bad that our son did not yet get his food had to ask where his food was they brought his finally but it was wrong then my dish was wrong to so they ended up giving our food and drinks on the house but I still would never eat there again

Food: 2⁄3 Service: 3⁄3 Came here for a business lunch and tried the mustard dill salmon with green beans on a bed of roasted potatoes. The salmon was cooked nicely but the mustard dill sauce was too sour and overpowering for the fish. The ends of the beans were not trimmed and the potatoes lacked seasoning. Overall, a disappointing dish. I’ll only eat here if the boss is payin’!

Food is cheap in Canada eh? This place is comparable to a TGIF or Chili’s(if you’re from the states), although most of their dishes seem to venture towards the saltier side… maybe it’s a Canadian thing eh? The restaurant itself connects to Sandman Hotel, so it’s a convenient(and only) place by the hotel. The inside décor is extremely dark, and almost to the point where you have a hard time seeing the menu items. To start things off, I decided to try their soup of the day, which was wild rice mixed with… I can’t really remember. But all in all, I remember how I wish I had some bread to wash it down with because the chef must have spilled the salt. Damn was it salty… Next up was their burger, top sirloin, and red curry. The burger was cooked as I asked(medium rare), but it tasted bland, which was disappointing. The curry and top sirloin both were smothered in salt again, so wasn’t too crazy about those dishes either. However, despite the food, our waitress was friendly and checked up on us throughout the meal. And oh, sales tax is cheap!!!

Had a business meeting in Richmond, but I arrived early, thus I decided to drive around and find a place to grab some food. Since it was early(like 11:50am, just before noon), I had no parking issues and got seated immediately. At the onset service was great, very friendly and attentive. I decided to try something different, since this was my first time at Moxi’s(and Richmond)… went for a the Spring Mix Starter salad(very good), then Ginger Teryiaki Rice Bowl with Beef and to finish it up I ordered the Desert Trio sampler. All very good. Then things got slow, it was about 1pm and the restaurant was full, my waiter was MIA(missing in action). Took forever to get my check, and then for someone to pick it up(with my credit card… actually the waitress never came, the manager saw my despair and took over). Anyway… I liked the experience, just avoid the peak hours and you will enjoy the ambiance, the food and the service. Cheers!

This place needs to be renovated. The décor isn’t very nice. Food is good but not up to par with other chains such as Cactus and Earls. Ordered the nachos which were pretty good THIS time. Fish tacos are good but not great. Fish was good but tortillas were cold. Dessert was amazing! The white chocolate brownie is awesome.

Service was meh. Lady didn’t seem like she liked her job. Food was mediocre and they have one of the saltiest unappetizing flat bread pizzas.

Came here for dinner as a group of 6 — we made reservations(via phone) a week in advance, but when we got there, they did not have a record of it! We ended up waiting about 15 minutes for a table, which was reasonable. Good points: –food was good for the most part. I only come here for their baked potato — yes, get it! Fully loaded and hot, hot, hot! –service was good. had some concerns given the other reviews, but we did not have any problems. When anything was late or taking too long, they would come and give us a heads up, which is appreciated. –bruschetta is yummy –desert(white chocolate brownie) is yummy and enough to feed 2 – 3 people Bad points: –i guess they have some trouble with reservations –for a group of 6, we were given a booth. the booth itself is not small, but for 6 people with 2 big guys, it was a bit smushy –kind of loud. hard to have a conversation –food took long –bill took long(for receipt and to pay) –parking was a nightmare — the whole lot was full and you have to be observant of spots that may warrant a tow-away! –they took away that deep fried banana dessert thing Overall: mmmmaybe i will come back, but probably not. The food wasn’t good enough and the prices weren’t low enough to warrant the long food wait or parking nightmare. Tip: call to confirm reservations before coming. Come outside of regular dining hours to secure easy parking. Order the side potato!

Had a chance to try their steaks again. Life must really suck as a cow. Moxie’s has a drink special everyday. Today the special was $ 5 Caesars. Yay! The cup is bigger than those of many other establishments, so this was good. It tasted a bit watered down though. I had the Top Sirloin with Jumbo Prawns. This was actually quite good, though the vegetables(peppers) were a bit mushy. But their steaks are good. Nice and bloody, just the way I like it. In my previous review, I wrote about them messing up constantly. This was not the case with this last visit, so I am bumping them up to 3 stars.
