I come here for three things and three things only: marinated liver, marinated gizzard and marinated white chicken feet. I’ve had their other bbq and it’s decent but it’s not as good as one other place in particular a few minutes drive away. The liver is so tasty and cooked perfectly. I don’t like chicken hearts unless they’re cleaned and bloodless inside, so I ask for liver without the hearts(FYI they’re attached in case you’re wondering why I say this). I prefer my liver cold so I buy it, throw it in the fridge and then eat it later. I just like the harder consistency of it and the taste is so much more flavorful as I chew. The gizzards here are just as good and marinated and cooked in the same sauce as the liver. The chicken feet are tasty and chewy just the way I like them. I just like mine with a punch of vinegar or tartness so I come home, throw some vinegar on it and let it marinate for a few hours at least before enjoying. I don’t venture out to Richmond as much as I used to but when I do, I make a pit stop here. The liver is so delicious they often run out so I try to come early. I’d say 50% of the time I’ve come too late… but I have to try!

Terrific 3.75 stars to get your bbq pork because for the extra buck or two, better than fighting traffic at Park Place, my other favourite place. Usually after our weekly family dim sum, they’re quite conveniently located in Continental Plaza. But someone did mention their pork sausages were just ok. Lining up can be an issue as the butcher is on the left side, so best to line up and come around.

My mother and I came here over the weekend to purchase some fresh meats. I was very impressed by their selections and quality. This store is divided into cooked food section, raw food section, fridge(help yourself) section, and frozen(help yourself) section. I didn’t buy any or have never bought cooked BBQ meat/poultry from this place so I will not comment on the cooked food. The raw food section you will find pork cut down to its sell-able cuts(loin, blade/Boston roasts & chops, strips of belly, hocks, ribs, sirloin) just to name a few. I do question the sanitary condition of the pork as the parts are laid out on the wooden table in room temperature and not fridged. Having said that that’s how meats are sold in traditional markets which still exist today in Asia(imagine the heat and the humidity and raw meats). Health and safety aside, the meat cuts looked very fresh(more so than Whole Foods at Cambie & Broadway). Even with the offal such as pork stomach, kidneys and liver looked equally pleasant. The pork stomachs were already blanched. The raw kidneys, looked moist and plump. The chicken feet, gizzards, legs, wings in their respective bus bins were neatly organized and away from the pork. All the poultry parts and offal were fridged. There’s a glass fridge unit for beef cuts. I saw hanging flank steaks and pork shanks. The help yourself fridge section has preserved/cured sausages and preserved/cured ham(think Prosciutto but Asian style), perfect for adding depth and flavor to your soup. The frozen section which is located adjacent to the help yourself fridge has your hot pot meat cuts. Convenient for you to grab and go. This meat shop has been around for a very long time. I remember 7 – 8 years ago I bought raw meat it was stale and not very fresh. I am glad to see such a big improvement. Cash only.

My parents love coming here because its one of the cheapest chinese bbq stores in central richmond! The bbq is alright, not the best, but you get what you pay for. The char chiu isn’t that great, but the chinese sausages and roast pork are pretty good. Granted, not as good as Parker Place or HKBBQ Master, but what is? haha

This is the only place I will go to buy my ‘lap cheng’ — cured Chinese Pork Sausage. They cured it on site and its always fresh, you can also buy it in packages but I always like the ones that is hanging off the back wall sold in pairs. The Cured Pork Sausage have a nice balance of fat and meat and not overly lean, once you rinse it and cooked it whole with your rice, the oils from the sausage permeates your whole pot and it is not overly salty when you slice it up. $ 4.99/lb is about 4 pairs — 8 sausages. You can buy just 1 pair to test it out as compare to the big packages of 12 at the grocery store. Located inside a strip mall, they also sell Cooked BBQ Pork, Roast Pork and Soy Sauce Chicken for quick take out.

When I was young my mom would always bring home succulent roast pork and juicy BBQ ducks from here. But as I grew up, I grew out of this place. It is hard not to, when you have to risk breaking your teeth trying to crunch through the tough«crispy skin» of the roasted pork. It is also unpleasant to have to constantly reach for water to wash down the dry BBQ ducks and salty BBQ sausages — by the way did the kitchen staff spill the salt shaker or something? Furthermore I find the cha-siu, or BBQ pork hard to chew and lacks the sweet, roasted honey flavor. The only item I look forward to, is the occasional hunt down of the five-spice marinated duck tongues — a delightful appetizer to go with a cold bear, or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. And yes, I do like to french-kiss the duck tongues. Cheerio~

This is the first time I’ve eaten marinated squid and I am hooked! It’s orange in color on the outside and the inside is soft with a slight chewy texture. The squid was so flavorful and should be eaten cold/room temperature. Try it with some mustard, that’s apparently the traditional Hong Kong way to eat this. Landmark Fresh Meat &BBQ also has some pretty amazing BBQ pork. Get either the squid or BBQ pork, you can’t lose! Note: My aunt gave me a good suggestion — «Ask for the entire squid and chop it up at home… that way you can slice the pieces thinner» #30DaysOfYelp 4⁄30

I have been this meat shop for a decades, but, I never write a review of it. They do have fresh poultry and you always can ask them to slice it for you. If you’re craving for BBQ pork or soy sauce chicken, you can get it at the BBQ booth.

Looking for Chinese sausage? This place has the best in town. Love the liver one.
