I bought a voucher from livingsocial here for eyelash extensions. BADIDEA. The place is not hard to find, it is tucked behind the TIm Hortons. But once you head upstairs to the«spa» it is dark, deserted, and there were no other customers except for me, my friend, and later a gentleman?!(see below). The actual eyelash were half-decent and the entire application was quick — around 30 mins. The eyelashes eventually fell out as usual compared to other eyelash extensions I have had before so it was nothing special. There were very 2 disturbing events that have made me questions this place: 1) After completing the eyelash extensions — the cashier had the audacity to ask me to tip $ 15 – 20! I was appalled! I tipped what I felt was eligible which was obviously met with a scowl! 2) I had brought my friend with me and she was graciously waiting outside for me — she later reported she saw a man enter the spa«room» with one of the spa workers than around 15 – 20 minutes the same spa worker came out in a robe and half-dresssed?! My friend told us this when we were well out of the spa and WEARENEVERGOINGAGAIN! Thank god I did not use any credit/debit cards as transactions as I would be very concerned for any illegal activity. BEWARE of this place.

TERRIBLEEXPERIENCE RUDERUDERUDE! Don’t waste your time or money here! i would love to give this place 0 stars but, unfortunately, cannot I purchased a deal for this place(through DealFind) for a COUPLES package — advertised as «perfect for valentines day» and stressed«couples massage» and a «couples steam room» I bought the voucher in January and, when I called 2 weeks later, was told the earliest weekend they had available was in june so I made the appointment, and saved it in my calendar to not forget! When I got to the area, it took some searching to find the place and, once in, it didn’t really impress This didn’t turn me off right away though, as I thought, «appearances can be deceiving» So i arrive and have to wait, which was still fine While I was waiting, a worker there suggested that I go into the steam room and that my boyfriend can start his massage. I explained to her that this is a «couples» voucher and we want to do our treatments together. [Dealfind even stated ONTHEVOUCHER that this is «for 2 people to use together”] The worker told me that this isn’t possible as there is no «couples steam room» and we have to have our treatments separately or wait. I told her I would wait as I would not do the treatments separately — I bought a couples voucher to use as a couple. I continued waiting until another woman came out of a room and told me that we have to have the treatments separately because they are too busy. I let her know that we booked 5 months in advance and we had told them the exact voucher. At this point, I was so frustrated as I had changed plans so that I could be there for that appointment. This second employee told me «you don’t like it, get a refund», which I would gladly do. While I was waiting, another employee decided to call the«manager»(or someone who claimed to be the manager) and spoke in a language I couldn’t understand and I was then handed the phone. The woman let me know she is the manager and I calmly explained that — «I’ve waited 5 months to use this voucher. I bought it to use as a couple, as advertised, and I want to use it together» She starts telling me that«You can’t use it as a couple. It doesn’t say that» and that«everyone else is fine and everyone else is happy with our service» I point out to her that the voucher even specifically says«2 thirty minute couples visits to the«steamy wonder with rosemary and lavender» steam room.» and I emphasize the words COUPLESVISIT She goes on to tell me that«couples visit» doesn’t mean together. Couples visit DOESN“T mean together? Really? What does a «couples visit» mean? (If someone on Unilocal knows, please fill me in) By this point, I was quite frustrated, as was she and she started yelling at me that«everyone else is happy with their service» and tells me if i’m unhappy to leave and get a refund. I believe her exact words were«if you don’t like it, go to Dealfind and get a refund. No couples, no together»(while she was yelling at me) Pretty serene and spa-like, don’t you think? Anyway, I left, without having my massage(which I really needed) But I definitely DONOT recommend this place to anyone

I had purchased a groupon and realized quickly that i had to book an appointment soon since my groupon was about to expire. it was difficult getting an appointment on the weekend so i had to book more than 1 month in advance. Before arriving, i did a search on the web for reviews of this place and i was quite hesitant on going but it was too late as i had already purchased my groupon. I arrived for my spa services. The place was a bit shady looking(red drapes, thai massage bars on the ceiling, etc.). The facial/microdermabrasion/massage was okay at best. The towels were old. The manicure and pedicure were okay but not a whole lot of selection to choose from in terms of colours and no name-brand nail-polish was used. While getting my manicure, the owner was telling me all her stories about how generous some people are tipping and her mixed experience with groupon. All in all, i thought the facial/microdermabrasion/massage/mani/pedi for $ 59 was a good deal for the price. I learnt that Groupon takes 50% of the price you pay, which explains why the spa service was so bad, since they only get $ 29.50. Not sure i would go back. I would definitely be more cautious buying groupons for spas as some of the ones i’ve been too are pretty bad.

i used my coupon 2 weeks ago and the other reivews are right. it is a very dark and dingy place. and this is also the first time where i was told how much to tip($ 20) but I argued that tip is based on quality of service). I truly wonder how this establishment is still in business. Stay away! I would not have given a star — but minimum is 1 star. btw — they also go by the name VACARRO Spa(this is the name in the Groupon)

This«spa» is extremely hard to find. It seems like a rented space across from some apartment complexes. When I entered their premises, I noticed that it was very dark and there was no reception table, but a lady sitting on a sofa with her reservation book. Before even saying hi, they asked me for my voucher(which I bought in a deal site for a manicure and pedicure) so I gave it to them right away though I found it rather rude. My esthetician was a Nepalese woman who was very nice and considerate. She showed me to yet another dark room and sat me down for my pedicure first. She asked me to pick my color and I noticed that they have a very limited selection. The only brand they have was Maybelline, there was no OPI or China Glaze… Usually what I’m used to seeing at nail places. I asked if I can do a French manicure and was informed that there is an extra $ 10 charge. I thought that was a pretty high rate since high end yorkville spas only charge $ 5. They didn’t have any pink/peach top coat for the French, and only used a transparent coating. unbelievable, considering that I paid $ 10 extra. Near the end of my treatment, the lady(owner) on the sofa started watching some Chinese show on her IPAD with the volume turned up to the max, while slurping on instant noodles. Does she not realize I am right there?! She even reminded me to tip. which I thought was extremely rude, and ushered me out the door before my nails dried because she said she wanted to go home and close up the store. To say the least, I would not recommend this place, you can better spend your money elsewhere.
