Nice pub feel. Many TVs for sports. Beer specials. Girls in kilts. Makes for a good spot to hang out. Quesadilla was good. For food stick to the basics and you will be fine. Service can be slow.

Seriously? I came to this restaurant with my wife three times before this one. We got decent food and okay service each time. Then came today. We arrived and requested a specific table. The waitress had to ask for permission to seat us in that area. Huh? Anyhow. Another waitress arrived. She was friendly but that’s about it. We ordered our two beers. I saw her place the order with the bartender; he serves it up and she takes off. She goes wandering around the bar, the restaurant, the back area. As for our beers, still sitting on the bar. This«waitress» goes to the front to greet customers, seat them then goes back to her friends to talk. She gets called over by the bartender then she runs to her friends or coworkers. not sure. Then all four of them start lining up tables for a reservation! Update on our beers? Still on the bar and our menus are closed on our table. My wife? Getting impatient. Me? Getting fed up. Twenty-five minutes later; no beer, no apetitizer ordered and no meal ordered. Guess what happened next? If you guess we left; you are correct! Despite the decent food and past customer service; me and my wife will not be spending money in this establishment again. Good luck to this specific waitress. You’ve reached the pinnacle of your career with customer service skills like that. As for management… Train your staff better and supervise them!!!

Service was good but the burger was mediocre at best. It was dry and hard to swallow. The garlic fries are yummy tho. Mozzarella sticks are the generic frozen type. I expected more with all the hype I guess. I will try it again but not anytime soon.

Alright, I’ll be the first. Let me start off by saying I’ve only been here twice, and there’s room for me to do an update if I make any more appearances there. Right, so this is a solid three star review. Based on what a person CAN experience in Red Deer, there’s room for improvement at this place. The first time I came in, I was pleasantly greeted by someone at the little host/hostess station by the door. Nice touch. I sit down at the bar, and within an acceptable period of time I’m greeted by a female bartender/server(I think she was doing both?). She even had her name written on the coaster she used to place my drink. Also a nice touch. Had a couple pints. I think her shift ended because I was suddenly being served by one of the guys back there. Anyway, when I was asked if I wanted another, I cut myself off. Here’s where things get less good… A patron should never have to wait 10 – 15 mins for the bill, when there was maybe 2″ of beer left in the glass and the patron has made it clear they’re not ordering a third. It should come down to «would you like your bill now?» or even, just go get it. That’s how it often is at Red Deer establishments. Not the end of the world though. Next night I came in, and it was a bit busier than last time, but not super busy by any stretch. But this visit galvanized that 3⁄5 star rating. Here’s why: Took 5 mins for anyone to notice I had sat down at the bar. Again, not the end of the world, but for the number of people working the floor, you’d think someone would notice. I shrugged it off though, thinking no place is perfect. One impressive thing is the bartender seemed to remember what I was drinking last time I was there(though I ordered something else this time). So I order my food. I didn’t have to wait long to do so, which is good. I hate waiting so long that I can’t remember what it is I chose to order… Anyway, order goes in. The food came out quicker than average for a place like this. Unfortunate the order was wrong. Really wrong. So back it goes, and maybe 10 mins later, comes back out, appearing to be correct. Technically it was not. What I think they did, was they took the existing order, swapped out the side, and added bacon and sauce to the burger to match it up with the menu description. HOWEVER, it came with regular onions, not the deep-fried crispy onions that made it a primary reason I ordered it. Ate it anyway, whatever. The bun was average(felt pretty fresh), the burger, garden variety. Nothing special. I don’t know if this is because of the theme of the place(Scottish?), but the bun should have been toasted. I find that ALWAYS enhances a burger. The lettuce was a tad bit wilted too, but not to the extreme. Oh, also: No napkin/utencils. Had to ask for a napkin. You will want to go to this establishment if you like sports(as I do) and need to see a TV no matter where you’re sitting. And if you like hot women in short kilt-like skirts, and busting out shirts, yeah… Didn’t hurt my feelings at all. Lastly, what you should know is this is the location that used to be Blarneystone South and Cork’d. They gutted the place and really made it look more like a pub you’d expect to see in Red Deer. So with that, you will expect to find the same shitty parking lot that is hard to navigate when it’s even half busy. Park across the street at the mall parking, and you won’t have to fight your way out when you leave. This establishment review will get an update by the end of the year, probably.
