The food was terrible! I had the eggs Benedict — the hollandaise sauce had no flavour and my eggs were over cooked. I was exited by the shredded hash but they were under cooked and the bacon was rancid and had to be sent back. To add to it all the service was slow! Definitely not going back!

Normally I’d wait a few visits, but Hubie’s gets a good review from the top. We were in search of a casual breakfast place and decided to give this place a shot. A bit of a drive from our place, we approached the experience with caution — holding itself out as a 50s dine, it seemed like it might be a bit tacky or lacking authenticity. A tad tacky, yes, but it was fully authentic. When we got there, the jukebox was playing and most of the booths were full, so that was a good sign. We grabbed a seat and were quickly greeted by the server — we grabbed coffee and the menu and went for breakfast options. The prices were exceptionally good, and there was quite a bit to choose from. Each booth has a jukebox control at it, and it still takes quarters, and plays just like you’d expect. The rest of the diner is decorated as you might expect — bright pictures and cheesy signs. There’s also the counter to sit at if you’re alone, or take out if you’re on the go. Our food came out quickly, and our coffee stayed full. Our server and the owner both made a point to check on us, and we got huge portions of delicious hashbrowns. We paid the bill and had a chat with the owner — she recently purchased the diner from the previous owners, and knew about the history of the place, with it being around since 1959. She wanted to preserve the style of the diner, including the jukebox, fresh pies, and the occasional special dinner nights, like a turkey dinner special for a really great price. I’ll be back for sure, and gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a nothing-fancy meal in town.

I woke up early one Saturday morning and decided to look to Unilocal for help finding a decent breakfast when I discovered Hubie’s. Just like Shana W. describes, this place truly is a «hidden jewel.» I almost drove past this little joint located in the corner of a tiny strip mall in West Park, but was glad I went off the beaten path for the«Awesome Archie» — a breakfast consisting of 2 eggs, 3 strips of bacon, 3 breakfast sausages, toast and hash browns. The eggs were cooked to perfection, I could hear the hash browns being shredded fresh in the kitchen(no frozen stuff here) and the bacon was nice and tasty. The waitress was prompt and polite and the atmosphere was nice and quiet.

Neat looking Greasy spoon. Table side radios.. This hard to find eatery is in a neighbourhood stripmall. I’ve since noticed that it hasn’t been open several times I’ve tried returning. The open hours are limited. My four year old and I finally fiqured it out. go after 730 and before 4. He loved it. so did I . FYI. .it’s been there since 1959. Nice diner very nice people.
