It’s not my first time at Vera’s, and have had decent meals in the past. However, I have found that the service is going down hill, and I may not return. My most recent experience has me and my daughter waiting 15+ minutes for a Canuck burger, the place wasn’t crowded. When it arrived, it wasn’t cut in half as we had asked, and was missing the bacon AND cheese. When I took it up to the counter, the guy rolled his eyes with a heavy sigh, like I was being a pain asking for the correct toppings. No apology, just another 15 minute wait, until he practically through the plate on our table. Even my 7 yr. old daughter recognized his attitude and asked«what’s his problem?» When I’m paying $ 20 for a burger, fries and drink, I expect the order to be right and hold the attitude!!!

When Vera’s first opened I never knew what to expect because the burgers were either awesome or terrible. The last, say…6−7 times I’ve gone has been perfect every time and the staff is always soooo friendly that I don’t doubt what I’m going to get :) I don’t go very often, so either they just found their groove or it’s a new management but they’re doing a great job! in fact, I might have just talked myself into a burger for dinner.

$ 9 for an average chicken sandwich that isn’t particularly tasty or big. Maybe in a combo with fries and drink. Terribly over priced on its own. Now I remember why I don’t frequent this chain too often.

Best burgers I have had in my life. The burgers are so well made and always fresh, they don’t hide their cooking methods and you can see everything they do. Always fills me up, though on the pricier side for burgers it’s worth it. Try the gmoney

Decided to try Vera’s because we were tempted by their flyer. The hamburger bun was delicious but the hamburger itself lacked taste. If they could put the Five Guys burger inside the Vera bun then you could have a melt-your-face-because-it’s-so-good burger! The onion rings and fries were very good and so was the friendly service.

My second favorite burger joint in the area after Five guys. I prefer Vera’s burgers to Five Guys, but their fries are not great. Go for the onion rings instead! Edit: New franchisee and things are much better. :) Revised from four to five stars. Half fries + half rings is the best of both worlds!

Not thrilled with this location. Fries & Meat were unseasoned & flavorless. Service was lackluster. No eye contact. No smile. I tried extra hard to be nice & thankful. We tipped generously. I said please & thank you as much as I could but he was still just grumpy. We asked if he had club soda and he said no. I found the hidden soda tab on the pop machine & mentioned I found it & he got defensive. I didn’t mean to make him so-I know it’s a hidden button sometimes. :(I don’t like to feel like I have to work hard for good service. He should be working hard to make serve me well

One of my favourite ones now; anything in Newport feels good, sounds good too, doesn’t it? lol Nice layout, lots of booth seating, and spacious in general; that’s how tight the vancouver ones are. big screen tv too. great, friendly service, free parking.

I’m so glad that Vera’s opened right in my hood. It’s nice to have a more gourmet alternative to the usual fast-food burgers you get in the ‘burbs. If you’re not familiar with this chain, then be forewarned that Vera’s is pricier than a fast food joint, but the quality is infinitely better as well! The burgers are HUGE(1⁄3 lb I believe) and there is a pretty good selection of items you can add for free to customize with. Some of the more expensive add-ons have a price associated with them, but if you get whatever the daily special combo is, you’re looking at maybe $ 12 for a meal that you may not even be able to finish. I HIGHLY recommend the chili cheese fries and the milkshakes are pretty good too. Also, if you don’t want to eat in, you can pre-order online and then pick up at a designated time(with a credit card payment). If you’re looking for a delicious and more gourmet burger, go check out Vera’s — you will not regret the decision!

When I saw the sign go up that Vera’s would be opening in NewPort Village, I could not believe my luck! This is my favourite place for a burger and now I wouldn’t even need to venture outside of the TriCities. I visited Vera’s on Thursday night and was not disappointed. I ordered the Canuck burger(patty, cheddar and bacon) and added my faves(mayo, lettuce and pickles). It tasted just like I remembered it to. Amazing. They also do takeout and have a crazy assortment of goodies that you can add to any burger. All burgers are cooked to order so they are extremely fresh.
