I reviewed the previous restaurant that was here called sizziling something or another which was awful and I mentioned in my post the restaurant would fail FAST and it did. We were recently told to head back here by our RMT who works close by who said it had been recently taken over. AMAZING. Jessica our waitress was fabulous. Food was great and prices were decent. If you have ever been to the peaceful restaurant on west bdwy or west 4th then you know what good Chinese food taste like and the chief here used to be associated with peaceful so the food is AMAZING. This restaurant is going to blow up once the word gets out that we finally have a decent Chinese restaurant in Port Coquitlam of all plaques. Do you yourself a favour and make sure you order a beef roll! — we took a family member to this restaurant on the weekend and we were Embarrassed after giving them such a rave review. I’m not sure what happened but the food was horrible! The person we took was a Vegetarian who eats fish. They allowed us to order off the lunch menu and he choice the rice with mixed veggies and shrimp. It was embarrassing it was as if someone bought a frozen meal from and dumped it onto a plate it was awful. We also ordered the Hawaiian fried rice and it was just as disgusting. The beef roll wasn’t even at its normal taste it was so salty. Not sure if the chief has changed but I’m so surprised that a place could go from 100 to 0 like this. I have eaten here since they first opened a few times and noticed a steady decline but this was just shocking!

I was a bit skeptical to try this restaurant because the one that used to be here was not very good. The interior of restaurant looks the same as the old one so I was worried that maybe they changed the name to rebrand themselves. The service was great! The waitress was so accommodating and friendly and made suggestions when we asked. We had the spicy chili wontons, double fortune stir fry noodle dish and the northern curry noodle dish. The wontons have a good amount of heat! They were delicious and the filling was generous. The double fortune stir fry noodle dish was a bit on the salty side but when you add their homemade vinegar, it is delicious. The northern curry noodle dish was not that spicy but had good flavour. All in all, I will be back to try some other items on the menu!

ł’ve been receiving friend requests through Unilocal from Tonton. Originally I thought it was a mistake. This evening, I received another message from Tonton asking me to try his new restaurant. I’m not interested in receiving notifications from restaurant owners using Unilocal’s friend function to solicit business. Please STOP!!! Is this happening to anyone else out there or is this just an isolated incident?

I work nearby from the restaurant so I decided to give it a try. They’ve got quite a bit of dishes that’s normally from Northern China, and some spicy food, also some HK food. I’ve so far tried: A8 Clear Noodle Salad, definitely not an authentic dish of what it says. It is missing one of the most important ingredient, sesame paste. D5 Beef Roll, beef is well marinated, sauce is nice, the Chinese pancake is nice and crispy D14 Spicy & Tangy Dumplings, soup is nice and well-flavoured. Comes with 10 Dumplings. D16 Spicy Hot Chilli Wontons, chilli oil is great, but there’s something missing in the wontons, I don’t know what is missing, just something isn’t quite right with the wontons L2 Xing-Jiang Cumin Lamb, lamb is done well, cumin flavour nice and strong, but I find it a little watery to my own likings. C1 Sichuan Thousand chilli Chicken, the chicken is nice and tender and juicy, the spices were done well. A great dish. N14 Dan-Dan Noodles, I love the sauce. I love the noodle, but I find it a bit too greasy, but you can always ask for less oil. N15 Sizzled Hot-Chili Noodles, I think they use similar sauce as the Chili Wontons. Again, I love the sauce and chilli oil. N16 Shao-Xin Sauce Noodle, not what I had in mind at all. feels like a starchy based soup noodle in some stir fried cubed veggie and peas, so far my least favorite dish. F2 Mu-Shu Stir Fried Noodles, is actually black fungus stir fried with egg and some meat usually, but I think they either used too much soy sauce or maybe just me, I prefer if I can enjoy more of the egg and black fungus flavour. This is something I won’t order again. Alright, that’s what I’ve tried so far. I will add more slowly.

Came here with my wife because it’s literally just down the street on coast Meridian. I personally love shanghai food so I figured I’d try this place. When we came in it wasn’t very busy for a Sunday night. Two tables with a couple at each. The lady who was waiting the tables was very welcoming and nice. The place was neat and clean but the décor was lacking. The menu is quite extensive which only small changes in each dish. We ordered beef roll, xiao long bao, dan dan noodles, chive pockets, schezuan wonton. All of the above were decent. I wouldn’t say anything blew my mind but they were not bad. Price wise it’s pretty fair. The portions are okay. I expected more from the beef roll but considering legends in Coquitlam downsized their roll size I wasn’t too upset. They had a 10 percent off so the total meal before tips was around 32.00 for two of us. Which isn’t bad. We had extra food and packed it home to go. I think if I was craving this type of food again I’d come because it’s so close. Service was 9⁄10 food 6⁄10 ambiance 5⁄10 value 7⁄10
