This is a great little shop in the Pointe-Claire village which seems to cater very clearly to upper income bracket yuppies, moms of hipsters and foodies. There’s a little bit of everything in here, a wall of hot sauces, British teas and biscuits and chocolates, marmalades and jams, unique brands and harder to find food items, tea pots, juice and water carafes, funky doormats, small gardening tools, cast iron pots, homemade fudge in the back, really the selection here is wide and quite spectacular and you can easily and pleasantly spend some time in here and not get bored. My one reservation is clearly the price. I saw stuff here selling at easily $ 3-$ 4 dollars more than the going rate at Marche P&A downtown. Case in point: «White Chocolate Wonderful» peanut butter by the Peanut Butter Company. At P&A it’s usually $ 4.99, here it was listed at $ 8.99. Ditto the teas, I usually find York Gold British teas at places like Marche Atlantique for like $ 5.99 and here it’s $ 9.99 or so. It’s fine if you want to shop here but just be aware that there are other places in Montréal that sell the same items at far lower prices. Things here are really overpriced and unnecessarily so, methinks. I guess they’re marketing on the«snob appeal» factor. Also, be aware that they«don’t accept coupons since we’re not a normal supermarket». I had coupons from Typhoo Teas which I received from their Salon Des Femmes kiosk and when I tried using them here, I was told they normally don’t accept coupons. However, to the cashier’s credit, she let me use it nonetheless but people should know beforehand.
