This is the kind of place I almost don’t want to tell you about. You might get there before I do and buy my strudel. I have not tried the sandwiches or bread but I hear they’re good. I can only review their coffee and treats. I’ve had all of their addictive baked goodies and most of their coffee drinks, tea, and bottled smoothies. The muffin was my gateway drug. They run out so get there early. With the baked goods you can’t really go wrong. The popular cinnamon bun is actually my least fave but I personally prefer mine with cream cheese icing. The stand-outs to me are the brownies and muffins. As for coffee, they don’t have drip but the espresso drinks are good. Pros: Service here is friendly and polite. Even when it’s busy the line tends to move rather quickly. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried here and will definitely be back to try out some other things. It seems they use seasonal fruit in the goodies. The place is nice and clean and if I remember correctly they have wi-fi. Cons: There were fruit flies in here once awhile back and I didn’t notice them crawling on the food until after I took a bite of my cookie. It majorly grossed me out and I had to throw out my cookie. I. Had. To. Throw. Out. My. Cookie! This fruit fly thing seems to be a problem in many places in the area during warmer months so I get it must be difficult for businesses but it’s still gross. Keep an eye out for that. Hopefully they’ve resolved it though. I once almost missed my bus because the girl working had me, the only customer at the time, wait for her to sweep first. She was still being as sweet as always but didn’t seem to clue in that it would have made more sense to help me and sweep once I’m gone especially since she knew I was just grabbing a croissant to go. I’ve been here many times and those have been the only things I can complain about so I still give it a solid 4 stars. My fave order here: Cappuccino and a muffin or strudel(whichever they have, if any) and I also usually grab a bonus treat for later because I know I’ll be craving it.

Located in the Old Railway Station, this bakery gets 5 stars just for its cinnamon buns. They rank near the top in quality, taste, size, and damn, they were just plain great !! It was worth the walk from the hotel. I don’t drink coffee but everyone was ordering from the five or six choices. If you’re going to be in Whistler(30 min away), it’s definitely worth the drive to the Blackbird Bakery.

Great coffee, incredible pastries(almond croissants should not be missed) and delightful people. Best Americano I’ve ever had! Not to be missed.
