This is my favorite barbershop in Ottawa. You definitely get your«bang» for your buck, pun intended. The price if the haircut includes: a free drink, shampoo wash, hair cut, and a coditioner wash. If you get a haircut and add a beard trim, the beard trim is half off. Each booth has their own TV, where you get to choose the channel. Also, in the waiting area, they have iPads where you can play games as you wait for a haircut. You gotta check it out, meh, see, meh!

Not what I expected from a mall barber. Growing up, a barber in the local mall meant a run down place filled with old gents talking about years gone by. If that’s what your looking for then turn around and go somewhere else. Cause this is a modern barber full of Chrome, coffee and TVs. The staff were friendly, service was quick and professional and the over all experience good.

Worst barber shop(Ottawa Bayshore Mall location). Both my Dad and boyfriend have had TERRIBLE experiences. They botched their simple haircuts. They were relying on getting a good hair cut for a family wedding, and they had to go down to a buzz-cut, after the damage was done! NOT happy. Do not got there, they lack experience and skill.

NOTE: The 5 stars above is directed to Summer and Nicole and the rest of the team. The ladies are talented. Why is it that at Tommy Guns, customers are not treated equally? Our money is of equal value, is it not? First off, I want to say that Nicole and Summer and the rest of the team at TG Ottawa in the Bayshore mall are great. I have no issues with them. I have a problem with TG corporate policy that makes the Patron Appreciation Card a joke. A customer can come in and spend 15 bucks on a buzz cut, and they get a stamp on their card. A customer can come in and spend 25 bucks on a regular hair cut, and they get a stamp on their card. I come in and spend 45DOLLARS on a Hot shave, and no stamp. To clarify, I agree that cards cannot be redeemed for free Hot shaves, I am NOT asking for that. However, my purchases of Hot shaves should count to getting a free top-of-the-head haircut. Why is it that someone who spends ONETHIRD the amount of money that I do gets a stamp and I don’t??? That’s not right. That’s not treating customers equally. And dont give me the BS line about«hair cuts only». You do realize that Summer and Nicole are not shaving wheat off of my face right? Facial hair is just that. HAIR. Shaving is a form of cutting. So, I am getiing«hair cut». Basically, the TG policy is hair removed from top of heads count toward stamps, but hair removed from bottom(and front) of heads don’t. Lets compare this to another rewards program, shall we? If Petro Canada followed your logic, I wouldn’t be allowed Petro Points because my gas tank door is on the left side of my van. «I’m sorry sir, only customers who fill up on the right side get Petro Points.» You would never hear a Petro Can employee say that. Why? Because it’s stupid! Do you really think Sun Cor(aka Petro Can) got the size they are treating some customers like crap, but showing respect to others? I live 21 kilometers(one way) from Bayshore. There’s lots of places between here and there to get my hair cut. I don’t have to spend my money with TG. You do realize that right? Heres a hypothetical situation… If the franchisee dropped the TG franchise and went Independant, I’d be back in a heartbeat. Dont hold your breathe waiting for me to come back. And its all because head office doesnt get it. ALLCUSTOMERSAREIMPORTANT. PERIOD. Not everyone is going to take the time to tell you why they won’t be back, they just will disapeer and take their money with them.

First time in over a decade that I did not cut my hair, I went as a trail hail cut for a potential new employee Brooklyn. I must say I was impressed with the store, the atmosphere and how friendly every one was to me even thought I went more a less to get a free haircut. I also was so impressed with the haircut I received, that I may start getting my hair cut professional cut from now on. My wife also loves the new look. You will see me again but as a paying client next time. I hope she gets the job. :)

After being initially skeptical, my husband and I went to Tommy Gun’s at Bayshore because we moved to Ottawa just over a month ago and I have yet to find a stylist. I was greeted with a warm genuine smile and checked in on an IPAD and offered a beverage(they had diet coke, which was amazing!!) I went to the back and sat in a pretty cool chair and randomly got a stylist named Angel. She was really kind and took the time to listen to my many concerns and requests. She did exactly as I asked and my hair turned out perfectly. I convinced my husband to see her right after I did and he was also really pleased. We will definitely just go there to see Angel from now on. As a side note, Angel was absolutely lovely, I feel like she genuinely loves what she does and really connected with me. What a great experience. I’ve read a few other reviews and people complain about the price. Considering the amount of technique and the other things included it’s actually a decent value at less than $ 30.00. If you want no frills and an average at best hair cut, go to first choice or Walmart. If you want a great stylist, a cool environment and an overall experience at a fair price, this is your place!

I echo comments from other reviewers about the experience being hit or miss. I have also had exceptional service from Sarah on 2 occasions. Service from two others was no better than a First Choice.

this place is fine. I needed a haircut on a Sunday and they were open. There was no line up, I went straight to the barber’s chair after signing in. The haircut was what I asked for and they shampoo after the cut. $ 30 is a bit much. After reading the other reviews I only now realizing after the fact that it is a pretty gimmicky format. I passed on the drink and tv.

Hit and miss. I’ve been to Tommy Guns 3 times now. Firstly, when you arrive you check in with an iPad and select the package you want. The waiting area has a selection of hot and cold drinks, iPads, men’s magazines, USB and outlets to plug in and charge your devices. Then when your called in to the back the chairs are comfortable and the mirror in front of the chair has a TV with channels you can flip through. The first couple of times I went, I received great service from the stylist in the back right corner(believe her name is Sarah). Very friendly and attentive. Absolutely zero complaints with her. The third time I went I had another stylist midway down on the right. The cut was nothing above a First Choice Haircutters quality and her personality was lacking. After some forced small talk, the rest of the time was spent in silence. Disappointingly, you can’t make an appointment for a stylist of your choice, it’s drop in only and you’re served by whomever is up next.

JB, I see you mentioned me in your review. I was curious to see that you’re not even from Ottawa. You and your buddies drive 6 hours up from Sudbury for haircuts. Not to mention you just created your account this month for this one post? And your post went up the same day one of the owners called me. Smells like TG is trying to increase their ratings by posting themselves? David L and Bruce L. in Kitchener posted similar reviews to mine — premium prices for poor quality.
