The food is cheap on Thursdays and the bar is pretty exciting but the quality is a let down. Nothing to write home about. Everything seems a little overcooked and too reliant on low quality dipping sauces. Nonetheless, the beer tastes just as good as anywhere else.

Today I was on a hot wing hunt — not just any ordinary wing — but a best in show hot wing. I read reviews on my smartphone and, for the first time, I visited the 399 Elgin St., St Louis Bar & Grill. The wings that I ordered — were outstanding. Incredibly tasty and«hot» they were. One of the best, if not«THEBEST» hot wings that I’ve ever tried over the years — and I’ve sought out outstanding hot wings from Lethbridge AB to Huntsville AL to Ottawa ON to Miami! FL and beyond. «Miami Heat» wings, up to this point, were my favorites — the Sports Grill(Sunset Dr.) — Miami, FL serves up exceptional house special wings and their Miami heat sauce is really good. The service today was commendable — welcoming and attentive to all patrons. The overall feeling in the restaurant was that people were having a nice time, relaxed and enjoying great conversations. I read, with excitement, that they are hosting a special event called, «Wingsanity» All You Can Eat Wings, March 16th through April 5th. I’ve already started texting my friends to plan a group wing feast. Check out the images from today’s visit. — Wingsanity | St. Louis Wings Bar and Grill — Wings! Suicide w/“Hotter than Hell” sauce on the side — Wings! Suicide w/“Caribbean Jerk” sauce on the side BTW — Great dill dipping sauce!

I go here often on Tuesday nights for their half price wing night. It is the best deal in town as far as the price goes, very affordable and decent fare although the service isn’t optimal. It is slow and there is somewhat of an attitude problem with the staff.

Big patio but the food is just OK. Have been a few times now and gotten wings or burgers — nothing special. Lots of TVs for sports inside.

Note: bump this down to 3 stars if you are going during the winter and the patio is closed. This is one of my favourite patios on Elgin street. Unlike Lieutenant’s Pump and Sir John A it’s much more spacious so you aren’t within arm’s reach of the table next to you. Also it’s a little further down Elgin street where there is less traffic/noise. The food is pretty much standard sports bar chain stuff: consistently decent quality but certainly nothing stand-out. If you are looking for a place to go to watch a game this isn’t a bad alternative to MacLaren’s up the street. Plenty of beers on tap and the waitresses have great«personalities».

I was pleasantly surprised with the experience we had at St. Louis this weekend. While strolling up and down Elgin on a Saturday evening, we were on the hunt for a great patio and food that everyone in our group of five would enjoy. I remembered that St. Louis had a great patio, but thought the food might be subpar since it’s marketed as a sports bar. It was a toss up between them and Slice and Co. who occupies the huge patio next to theirs, and since there were more seats on the St. Louis side, we ended up going with them. The customer service was pretty flawless from start to finish. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who seated the 5 of us quickly on the patio(no wait!). Our server was friendly and attentive and all our orders were perfect. I asked her if I should go for the pulled pork or the fish tacos, and she suggested the fish. I’m so glad she did! Fish tacos can be pretty icky if not done well, but these were great. The fish was fresh and had just enough of a crispy coating and the ancho mayo was great. They meal comes with two, and it was seriously just enough(though, let’s be honest… if there was a third one on y plate I probably would have eaten it. SOGOOD). Tortilla chips and salsa are the standard side for tacos which I enjoyed, as it kept the meal fairly light. There are flatscreen TVs outside, so I bet this is a fun place to watch sports outdoors when the weather permits. They also had a deal for every day of the week, which I always enjoy. Everyone else we were with really enjoyed their meals(which is a great sign) that included dishes like the pulled pork sandwich, the dill grilled chicken sandwich, and of course, Noah K got the burger(see his review for details on that goodness!). Everyone was really pleased with their meals, and all in all we had a great time. I also loved that the manager popped over and asked us how we were enjoying everything — that’s always a nice touch. I will absolutely be back here, at least in the summer. Their patio is definitely one of the best in the city!

What a great place this was! I went here Saturday evening with some friends. We were greeted at the front and asked for a table on their patio. There was no waiting and they were able to seat the 5 of us. The outdoor patio faced Elgin street. It was perfect weather Saturday evening to sit outside! The chairs weren’t the cleanest; I had to brush it off before I say but it didn’t change my experience. I got the burger with poutine. If you have ever read any of my reviews on restaurants then you’ll know I usually go for a burger lol. This burger was absolutely delicious! I could have eaten another one or two. The poutine was equally as delicious. I can not rave enough with this meal I had! See the picture. Words don’t do it justice. The staff was friendly and polite. The waitress came around the right amount of time. Not too much and not too little. Side note: if you want to eat healthy and have a salad as your side, it is $ 1.99 more. Though the meals are much cheaper than other restaurants. I would definitely come back here! Maybe next time, I’ll try their famous wings.

Fun restaurant with great service and good food. Probably would be extremely crowded if there were a big game on. We were there on a Saturday night but early and had no problem getting a table. One of us is a vegetarian and there are delicious salads. Everyone else had wings and ribs and liked them a lot. Waitress was very nice, made good suggestions about what to order, and told us about some events to see in Ottawa that weekend.

As far as a place to watch sports, this was A-OK! Food is solid pub food. Beer is good. Décor is sporty and enjoyable. Wait staff are great. There are lots of TVs showing sports in French and English. What’s not to like? Would I return: Yes — but I bet this place fills up when there’s a great game on. Not sure it’s worth standing in line for.(Sports aren’t my highest priority, what can I say.) Would I recommend: If someone is in to sports, this might be a great spot for them to go, so yeah, I’d point people here.

I’ve been here a few times, most recently with my brother for their half-price appetizer Thursdays(4pm until close, with the purchase of a drink). We had the calamari(regular price $ 10.99) and the«bacon wrapped mac n’ cheese»(regular price $ 9.49). The bacon wrapped mac n’ cheese was weirdly delicious. It is a ball of macaroni and cheese that is wrapped inside thick bacon slices and then deep fried. In my opinion, it is the type of snack that makes cardiologists rich and our emergency rooms full. So the occasional indulgence is fine, but I personally would not eat this on a regular basis. That being said, it was delicious. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and not mushy. The bacon was crispy(despite being thick) and smokey flavoured. You get 4 pieces, each a little bigger than a golf ball. It came with a spicy mayo based dip(which I think wasn’t necessary for the mac n cheese appetizer, but tasted really good with calamari we also ordered). The calamari came served in a paper cone inside a metal cone stand(like the cones of fries you get at «Belgian Fries» joints). The cone looked big, but the bottom is stuffed with shredded lettuce. Only the top layer is calamari. The calamari tasted fine, but the«rings» were too small in diameter and too thick in the other dimensions. There are«rings» as well as «tentacles.»(I prefer all rings and no tentacles). This came with seafood sauce. But like I said earlier, it tasted better with the spicy mayo sauce. I had a mixed drink(it was about $ 6) and my brother had a beer($ 7.99). I will likely return for half-price appetizers, or for any of their other«specials,» like the $ 5 burger and fries on Wednesdays(they have specials 7 days a week, which is rare), but I doubt I would return if I had to pay full-price.

Great place to go if you are looking for a bargain depending which day of the week. Nice patio during summertime but the food is average. I would recommend if you are looking for the patio vibe if all else is closed on Elgin or on a budget.

Ok this deserves a 3.5, not a 4, dang it Unilocal! They do half priced wings on Tuesday, and you get a generous portion of fries… It comes to around $ 6 per person, what a bargain if you ask me. They give you a really great dill dipping sauce which is UNREAL on their wedge cut fries. I’ve tried a few types of their wings, their hottest one(which is prettyyyy hot but not brutality), honey garlic, a sweet and spicy one I think, cajun and the Jamaican Jerk one. The only one I didn’t like is the Jamaican one, they were just terrible and the waitress didn’t seem to care so –1 star for them. They hold up well the next day, so what I did a few times was got 2 orders of wings on a Tuesday and brought the other order to work. They also make some other things such as ribs, and typical pub appetizers. My vegetarian friend got a salad she said was good. It’s always really busy on any night there is a sens hockey game on, unless you like obnoxious hockey fans I suggest you avoid it on those nights. Only negative, the service here is always sub-par, but for such a deal I don’t even care. Oh, and they have boneless wings! I don’t really like regular wings(the veins gross me out), so this was awesome for me!

Not a bad sports bar for major events. They have a large screen, ok food and friendly staff. They have cheap beer often and in the summer they have a nice patio that extends onto the streets. It’s definitely worth checking out at least once. They’re supposed to be well known for their chicken and ribs but I think their chicken has gone down in quality over the years as it was much better and the wings are pretty expensive as is most wings nowadays.

My fiancé and I liked this joint! We visited briefly during a late-night pub crawl and decided to set up camp for a while and eat. The wings and fries were pretty good, actually. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, but keep in mind we didn’t order much, so I can’t speak for the rest of the menu. It seems they have great bar food. When we visited with a friend, it was a great mix of fun and action, but not too much. It wasn’t too loud or crazy, but it wasn’t dull and empty either. We were there on a Saturday night. We love the area too, because it’s so easy to switch location on foot, but it’s not as intense as being in the market area(gag). We’d definitely visit this place again. The service was great and prices were very reasonable. We had a nice table near a window, yet it was still a bit tucked away, so we felt like we still had our own«privacy». We liked the vibe for sure. Recommended!

One of the better restaurants on Elgin Street, I’d have to say. They’ve got a great outdoor seating area, and some decent(if not slightly bland) BBQ. All-in-all, a great place to hang out, eat, drink, and chat with a group of friends. Seriously didn’t like the unrestricted smoking out on their patio, though that is usually the norm in Ottawa.

I’ve been here’re a few times because it’s so close to my parents’ and my mom likes the ribs. It’s pretty good. Nothing to get too excited about, but they have good food, a decent bar, lots of TVs, and cute waitresses. Said waitresses are rather noticeably less diligent when you’re not a male customer, but other than that, things are pretty good.

I came here last night with a large group of mostly male friends. The place was pretty packed, with a ton of people watching sports on their flatscreens and projector screen, and the whole place smelling like barbecue. We had beer after beer, and pitcher after pitcher. We also had tequila shots, Florida Tracksuit shots, and a few double gin and tonics with lime. The drinks were strong and kept on coming. The service was incredible! The waitress remembered all of our orders and who ordered what without having to write anything down. She was really quick to serve us and clear the table, many times without us even noticing. This was really great because no one likes being interrupted when they’re in the middle of a conversation. New on their menu are deep-fried pickles, which were fantastic. Hot, juicy, salty, and crispy. It came with about 6 large slices and ranch sauce for dipping. Everyone at the table had to try some. Great pub food! Even though we racked up quite a hefty bill, we had too many drinks to count, left full, and had a great time.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I’ve been to this place a few times but never actually had their wings! I can vouch for some of their other smaller items being really good. Sure it’s pub grub, but I’ve been to enough of these places to know that you can certainly screw it up and St. Louis has never done that. They have this really wicked cheese-stuffed-deep-fried-likely-not-healthy things that are delicious. They may be lethal too but they’re damn good! The patio at this location is sprawling and often hopping. In the summer and for some special events(NHL playoffs) they have a limited bar on the patio as well. If you end up here on a Saturday afternoon for a Corona you may find yourself there until quite late. Not that that’s ever happened to me… The interior is small and in the winter for Sens games it is sometimes a bit too small but who cares if you’re jammed in a loud bar — you’re at a sports bar watching a hockey game! Oh, and I’ve heard the wings ARE great.

Sorry about the lousy photo — apparently I had a REALLY good time that night I was at St. Louis! Man, what a great place this is — if you like wings and beer. They have ten different flavours of wing sauce — from super hot(hotter than hell) to plain. I had the Sweet Asian Barbecue flavour, and it totally took me back to those wings I enjoyed when I lived in Seoul. Delish! The atmosphere is also amazing — very casual and comfortable. My friends and I had a whale of a time. And, the location is right on Elgin, where there are lots of other pubs and dance places, so when you load up on the delicious wings, you can have even more fun just around the corner.
