Friendly staff and excellent coffee. Loved the «Moccachino. «Prices are about average for a coffee shop.

Dur dur de vivre juste à côté de cette enseigne. Même si je né suis pas une fan de café et autres boissons caféinées aromatisées, je suis complément accro à leur smoothies, surtout celui à la fraise.
Quand je reviens du travail en vélo (plus de 35minutes de vélo), je finis souvent au comptoir à commander. Le smoothie à la mangue me perdra aussi, tout comme le thé matcha.
N’étant pas habituée aux grandes formats en France, le petit format me suffit amplement, car toutes ces boissons sont quand même caloriques. Si je prends un grands formats, je n’ai plus faim après.

Review is of a small cappucino. Temperature of the milk was WAY too hot, around 170 degrees F, and the milk was over frothed, creating a poor balance between espresso, froth and milk. The beans are standard north america style, a boring vienna roast which is relatively boring and bitter.

This second cup has the worst lay out for sitting and meeting people, readings, studying, or basically anything I would want to do in a coffee shop. The only upside is when they open the patio in the summer. It is so noisy, and you have to ask for a bathroom key. The employees are really nice though.

It isn’t hard for a coffee place to get a good rating out of me. This is because I look for certain aspects in a coffee place, the biggest being how friendly the staff is because it’s a place people go to relax, chill out, study or grab a dessert. If the staff is unfriendly, no one wants to spend time there.
The staff at this location are great, always have a smile on their faces! I have been at all times of the day, in all types of weather.
The pastries at all second cups are the same, my favourite item is the raspberry white chocolate scone which is always available when I go here. They recently renovated the place and it’s kept tidy always, even in the winter time.
They have an outdoor patio, and the location is a good one because it is close to a lot of downtown attractions and pretty close to Laurier station for bus riders.
If you’re just looking for a fresh cup of joe, or an awesome hot beverage served by kind people, then this second cup location always a good option!

it’s not for the café but for downtown. the atmosphere is not unique, but more like other coffee houses, but still nice nonetheless.

Gotta say this is one of my favourite second cups in the Ottawa region. Seating indoor and outdoor space is ample, the drinks are expertly made, and there are some high chair/​stools for people who come alone and don’t want to take up too much room.
Outlets everywhere for laptop carriers and friendly service. Great snack selection and wicked cold coffee beverages in the summer. Wish this was still my neighbourhood SC.
I RECOMMEND: Earphones if you mind the student bustle.

Great place to grab a cup of coffee with a friend or to study/​do work. Free wi-​fi, ample seating indoors and out. Service is so friendly!
Love the fireplace in this place!
The only downside is the lack of plugs and parking.

This might be really embarrassing, but I think this was actually the first time I’ve ever been to Second Cup. My cousin lives near Ottawa U and while we were walking around the area, we stopped in for a coffee.
This location has quite a bit of seating, though it was incredibly packed. Since it’s located on Laurier East, right off of Campus, there were a ton of students posted up on the tables and the sofa couches with their books and laptops, studying and socializing over coffee and snacks. Since it’s so close to campus, the staff are also students. Many of you would assume that all of this would affect the service, but that’s definitely not the case. They were very quick, knowledgeable about the menu selections, and knew how to make a decent cup of coffee.
They use coffee beans as well as flavored syrups to make their coffees and specialty drinks. They also have a cookies and baked goods, and small fridge for sandwiches and wraps that have really great fillings, including bacon and eggs for breakfast, and pesto, red peppers, and turkey.
I was lucky enough to come in while they had one of their special beverages — candy apple latte! It was smooth and frothy, and not bitter or too sweet, with a shot or two of apple-​flavored syrup, and drizzled with caramel. Very tasty and much cheaper than Starbucks.

This is a decent place to get a cup of coffee and something to eat. It’s nothing fancy but it is warm and the staff are nice.
It’s a great place to go if you’re looking for some free Wi-​Fi and a table to sit at. Although it’s sometimes hard to find a table because it’s packed full of university students (on account of it being smack bang in the middle of the campus) so you might want to come at irregular hours when most students ‘should’ be in class.
