Had brunch here. Food was very good. As there were no other patrons in the restaurant service was great. We were surprised that they are not busier. Coffee was freshly made. Food was delicious. Generous portion of smoked salmon with eggs Benedict. Potatoes done very nicely, not at all greasy. Omelette was delicious. All ingredients were fresh. We will be back.

Was fun back in the day. Now I find that ppl that have no money really go and act like they are millionaire and judge you from a quiet distance. I like fish but let’s get real. Who made them fish experts? Did they go to fish college?

Lapointe is under new management, food quality and service is dramatically improved. Highly recommended to seafood enthusiasts.

Exceptional meal here. Dropped in without reservation with 7 people. Seated after a couple of minutes. Most of us had fish and chips, one had blackened chicken with tiger shrimp, and another had chicken parmesan. The portions of fish were plentiful even for the «small» size ordered. Everyone was delighted with the food. The waitresses were efficient and nice but perhaps a little unpolished. I would certainly go there again even though it was a tad pricey.

Living in Orleans, we don’t have many good consistent restaurant options. This is one of the few places we have found where we have had good meals, and the atmosphere is nice as well.
We often get the Fried Smelts as an appetizer, nice a flavourful and more than enough for a table with 4. The variety of fish and chips you can get here are great, not something you see awesome, and they usually have a weekly special, I had the red snapper once and it was amazing.
The main reason we come to this restaurant though is for the Traditional Spanish Basque Stew. So flavourful, and comforting especially on a cold winter day.
If you love seafood, I highly recommend this restaurant on the east side of Ottawa.
