Although the official address for Kaleidoscope is on 5th Avenue, they are temporarily located at 1115 Bank Street until their real location is ready. First of all, Kaleidoscope Kids’ Books is a GREAT children’s bookstore. They have all the great titles for children of any age. They have classics, like the original The Little Engine That Could, great modern classics, such as Olivia, and all sorts of exciting series for older readers. As a teacher and a parent, I am always saying«If your child doesn’t like reading, then they are reading the wrong books.» Go to Kaleidoscope Kids’ Books to find the right books for your child. The staff really knows their titles and authors and are — if it is really possible — more excited about reading than anyone you will meet. They actually read the books too and provide detailed recommendations in a vocabulary that your child can instantly relate and connect to. As a parent and a teacher, I am thrilled that stores like Kaleidoscope exist. So, for this holiday season, resist the temptation to buy your child a video game. Give them an imagination. Give them a book.
