I’ve been here twice both times the service was good. Décor and atmosphere is very appealing. Menu is great although I had the salmon bowl with a white wine each time I went. Delicious! Except the second time I had it, the morning after was not so pleasant an experience. I wasn’t sure if I should tell the restaurant the fish might have been bad? I never know what to do in these circumstances. In any event, I’m sure it was an anomaly.

I’ve been to 3 locations so far(Eaton, Yorkdale and Lansdowne) and the food quality is pretty much comparable. However, the service at Lansdowne is terrible. We walked in yesterday around 8PM and waited about 10 minutes to get the hostesses attention. She was waiting at the check in desk chatting up with co workers ignoring her work. Once she was done, without any apology just handed us over to a server to get us seated. We requested a table at the patio(we saw empty seats at the patio prior to coming in). Our server seemed annoyed with our request and said, yeah thats not possible(else the check in hostess would let us know). I insisted our server to check for empty tables. She reluctantly checked and upon finding a table, told us well its for a bigger group(that table was occupied by a lovely couple just moments after we got seated). My husband found another table at the patio where we were finally seated. We waited another 15 minutes for our server to appear to order. The food was great. We had steak and sushi, and a chicken alfredo. I ordered a lemonade as well. Usually at other Joey locations, they have free refills. Our server never bothered to come around to ask, or even check up on us. A good restaurant requires good, warm service. This ice cold attitude will only mean no tips :)

Came here this evening with a good friend! First things first, the décor in this place is awesome!!! The atmosphere is very cool. The kitchen is open and off to the side. There are exposed brick walls, lots of large windows and big statement décor pieces such as an oversized chandelier and clock. The waitstaff are all dressed impeccably and look very professional. Upon first glance, this establishment looks very impressive. My girlfriend ordered a tequila sour and I got an elderflower Collins. We both loved our drinks. We got an order of Parmesan truffle yam fries to spilt. OMG. I honestly wanted to order more of these. These are the most amazing fries I have ever had in my life ever, and I’ve eaten many fries in my lifetime. My friend ordered the superfood 500 salad. She added soy protein to make it more substantial and she really enjoyed it. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese with skinny fries. Again, amazing! The lobster was tender and tasted so nice and rich with the cheddar and Brie. It came with cocktail sauce, which I thought would be gross, but it balanced out the richness of the sandwich well. I also asked for some siracha aoli to dip my fries into and that was great! Our server was also very attentive and kind. Would definitely recommend!!!

I came here for the first time with a group of eight people for dinner on a weekday around 7pm. It was completely packed, and when we noticed the rest of the group was rammed into a small booth, we asked why and we were told that reservations are only for a maximum of six people. They ended up moving us to one of the long, communal type of tables, which was fine. The lighting was dim and it has fairly simple, dark décor with some accent pieces, which I think makes it seem a bit more modern and upscale than other restaurant bars. Our server was also great throughout the night, even though it was very busy. There were a few things I wanted to order on the menu that I had heard good things about, like the Korean fried cauliflower and the tuna sashimi big salad. I was pretty hungry, so after ordering an Old Fashioned to sip on, I ended up going with the New York Steak. The Old Fashioned was made really well and because it was so busy, I actually ended up finishing it before my dinner came, so I also ordered the Elderflower Collins, which had Beefeater gin, elderflower, grapefruit juice, and a watermelon radish slice as a garnish. It was a really pretty drink and not too strong or sweet, well balanced. The New York Steak was the biggest of all the other steaks on the menu. I ordered it on the rarer side of medium rare, which they grilled well, not overdone. It came with seasonal vegetables and«fully loaded crispy mashed potatoes», and I added some blue cheese butter to top my steak. The vegetables were chopped and also cooked well, not too soft, mostly zucchini but I was fine with that. The«crispy mashed potatoes» were mashed potatoes with some cheddar cheese and small pieces of bacon, wrapped in spring roll paper, and deep fried, with some sour cream and green onions on top. They were tasty — different take on mashed potatoes, but I enjoyed them. I was the only one at our table to get the New York Steak, so the others regretted not ordering it because of how the size of their steaks compared. It had a good flavor, not too salty/over-seasoned, though I wish my blue cheese butter was melted more, rather than cold butter plopped on top of the steak. It started melting eventually, which really brought out more of butter and blue cheese flavor. I was really satisfied with my meal and I was impressed that the service and food didn’t suffer from having so many other customers. We will definitely be back!

Excellent service at the door. Great atmosphere but unfortunately the service at the table was not ideal. Food was very good. Presentation was excellent. They ran out of chicken so we had to alter our menu choices but still very good

So — I was a bit disappointed with my visit here. Service was mediocre and nothing about the food blew me away. It was«fine». But that’s it. The décor was great. Would I return: Probably not, unless someone else really wanted to go there. Would I recommend: It could a good place for a dinner date but I think there are other better options when you consider the value for the price.

Delicious food, decent price. Apple pie is amazing. Came here with my husband for dinner, and both our meals were fantastic. His butter chicken was not too creamy, and the naan was spectacular. My steak and mushroom jus was wonderful(if a little heavy on the peppercorns), and the vegetables were stunning. The made to order pie was everything that is good in the world: apples, tons of caramel, maple ice cream and walnuts. The pastry was not what I expected, but still great.

Food and atmosphere is amazing! Seriously, try the lettuce wraps. Loved them so much I went out the next day and bought the ingredients to make more. I would recommend reservations as the place gets packed. Not rated higher because the service was NOTORGANIZED. The two servers we had for our large table didn’t talk to each other it seems as half the time we waited a while to order and half the time telling the second waitress that the first already had our order. Same unfortunate dress code as Moxies. Four hostesses didn’t acknowledge us when we were the only ones in line. They were all pleasant enough but very overstaffed. Will be back For the food

The tandoori chicken flatbread and the lettuce wraps are excellent. Great location right across from TD place.

This place is always buzzing! Prepare to wait a minimum of 15m on a weeknight for a table and +30m on a weekend! I’ve been twice — the first time was disappointing because our server sucked but the second time made up for it! If you can then I suggest trying to get a spot at the bar. The bartenders never let your glass get empty without offering another and are on their A-game 24⁄7. The food didn’t take long on either occasions and holy effing tits was it tasty! Get the fish tacos and thank me later. Ps desserts are made from scratch and are basically crack… Om nom nom

Great experience at Joey and can’t wait to go back and try more of their food(and drinks). There was so much on the menu I wanted to try but my friend and I decided to share the rainbow roll which was delicious. Because Joey isn’t necessarily a «sushi» place there’s always a question of what kind of quality you’re going to get… but coming from two sushi fans, let me tell you it was not disappointing at all! I had the lobster and prawn ravioli and my friend had the lobster grilled cheese as mains. I enjoyed my meal, the cream sauce was quite good and the seafood too. I also managed to have a few bites of the grilled cheese when my friend couldn’t finish hers and it was delicious… especially paired with the sauce. For drinks, I had the gin & tonic with a lime slush which was a nice twist to a classic, and my friend had the elder flower collins… we both loved it! We also tried the sangria which was a hit as well. Service was great too, Carl was our waiter and very efficient and accomodating. Definitely my kind of atmosphere, too… I like the open concept, the music, and the bathrooms even are quite interesting, haha. Will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu.

We love this place! The food is amazing! This new age food is fantastic! The décor is like outside, but very classy. A movie and a dinner, landsdown is the perfect place for a date night.

Now now– I know, 4 stars? Well I will say that it was still a really nice experience… Here’s why: The server was very nice– and accommodating! Helped with the selection of what we ordered(which tbh, the pulled rotisserie BBQ chicken sammich is the absolute best thing); gave us other restaurant suggestions, was super nice! The food was delicious! I love apple pie okay, and this was a bit different but really quite yummy– the crust was a flaky pastry type, and the apple interior(looking almost like a Danish) was just the right sweetness. AND apparently the bathrooms are out of this world(says my bf– and I completely forgot to check those out before we left!) Only downfall was that the service was a bit tardy although not awful!(Wine selection for single glasses aren’t exactly all the greatest– especially since a bottle costs an arm and leg– otherwise the other prices don’t seem to be so painful)

The food at Joey is top notch. The sharing plates and sushi are excellent and while the prices might be slightly high, if you can get past that, it’s well worth a visit. The ambiance is nice for a visit — music is not too loud — and if you can get a spot on the patio in the summer, you;ll never want to leave. The paella($ 22) is delicious — although it could use a little extra heat — and the rotisserie chicken is moist and tender. Their wine list s good, if pricey, and they have a good selection of cocktails and beers to augment the selection. Definitely a great place for a lovely, relaxing dinner with the important people in your life.

I was at JOEY on a Tuesday night and the place was packed! I can understand why It’s a beautiful place, great atmosphere, our server was so fun and attentive and the food was incredible ! I had the lobster and shrimp ravioli and it was amazing! I also had the calamari to start which has this amazing sauce drizzled over it with a subtle hint of heat I tasted almost everyone’s food at the table including the lettuce wraps, lobster grilled cheese and the ahi tuna salad and all I can say is wow The drinks were not only great to look at but were mixed perfectly I will be going back very soon !

We decided to try out this restaurant since we were in the area for a movie later that evening and wanted to grab a bite to eat before. There were a few patio options similar to JOEY’s available, but we decided to give this place a try since it seemed like the largest/most spacious option. First thing when we went to get a table was the wait — it was a 1 hour wait. The nice thing however is that they take your cell phone number down, and send you a text when your table is ready(you have 5 minutes to show up after they text you or you lose your spot). We killed off the hour wait by walking around lansdowne park — which is beautiful and recently built. There’s basketball courts, a skate park, a soccer stadium, and other things to do around while you wait(either participate in these or watch other people play!). Anyways — onto the service and food. Once the hour wait was done, we were pleasantly greeted with a server who took our orders for drinks. Then came the appetizers(we got the sweet potato fries topped with cheese — delicious!) and finally the main course. We got a steak and a chicken sandwich — both with a side of «crispy mashed potatoes». The steak was good, and the sandwich was tasty, but the one thing I was most curious about was the mashed potatoes. They are essentially spring rolls stuffed with mashed potatoes, and topped with sour cream and green onions. It was delicious. Overall, the service was good(we did have a wait a few times, like when we wanted to order our main course) and the food was good. I would definitely recommend this location, especially for a date night! Had the wait been a bit shorter, I probably would have given it a better rating. But waiting for 1 hour on a tuesday evening is a bit much IMO.

I am not sure if it is always packed here, or if it is because there was a game going on at Lansdowne, but WOW this place was booming on a Friday evening. Earliest time that we can get in for a dinner reservation was at 9:00pm. We were hoping for a more private table, like a booth(we came here to celebrate a birthday), instead we were seated at a table in the bar area underneath the big screen TV and next to a staff workstation. That was the only downside to the evening. Service was great and fast, friendly staff. We were honestly in and out in 30 minutes. Our food came out 5 minutes after placing our order. We were planning on making a night of it, but it looks like they were trying to turn tables fast as there was a huge line to get in. We ordered 3 apps, a beer and a bellini. Apps were: yam fries, korean fried cauliflower, and the rainbow sushi roll. All very nicely presented and delicious,(wish I took pics). I do have to say, portions are not huge, they are on the smaller size. I can definitely see myself coming back. The vibe is great. Huge chandeliers, rustic tables, comfy booths, and a huge TV screen(that we got to sit under). Tip: make sure you make a reservation. You can place reservations online at your convenience and see the available booking times.

Some friends and I ended up going to Joey out as a result of Local Public Eatery next door not taking reservations and we didn’t want to show up on a Friday night having to wait for a table(I guess I’ve lost my patience for waiting as I’ve gotten older…). STYLE/AMBIENCE — MODERN, UPSCALE-ISH I don’t have a good vocabulary for this type of thing but Joey is a more of an upscale modern type of place, like Milestone’s or Moxie’s. It’s large restaurant which seems like it can sit quite a number of people. RESERVATIONS? — YES We went on a Friday night and the place was pretty packed. If we didn’t have a reservation, we would of had to wait. FOOD — GOOD, SOMEPORTIONSCOULDBEBIGGERTHOUGH Rating food is always tough since it depends on what you order and your own personal tastes. We started with a few appetizers, the Japenese Gyoza and the Tandoori Chicken Flatbread. Both were good though admittedly, the taste of the flatbread was a bit blander than its scent(in that it smelled great but the taste didn’t jive with it). Our mains seemed a bit of a mixed bag. One ordered the Paella which, while good, was disappointingly small. One ordered a burger which was good and to me seemed to be a fair sized portion. Another ordered the steak frites and while I didn’t try it, I wasn’t overly impressed with the quantity or presentation. I ordered the sashimi tuna salad and while I liked it, for the price($ 19) I think it could have been a bit larger as I was still hungry after eating it. SERVICE — VERYGOOD Like with rating food, rating service varies from server to server but ours was very good and she engaged us in conversation a lot throughout the evening which was nice. OTHER — PARKING I’m not sure if Joey validates. If you park at Landsdowne, for sure you will have to pay for parking but while you might have to walk a few blocks, you can park on the side streets west of Bank and be able to walk to Joey in under 5 minutes. —– If I could give half star ratings, I’d give Joey a 3.5 since I think they are missing a little on the value side for some of their dishes. However, I would be willing to try them again.

My wife and I went and the food was excellent. I had the steak frites(steak, french fries, and a bitter salad). It was perfect, except that the salad was a bit too vinegary. My wife had the seared tuna which she loved, and apparently everybody else does too. It was a bit expensive for me. We got two entrees and one glass of wine and with tip we spent $ 72. I’d go again, but only as a special occasion. I should also add that the wait staff looks like a bunch of runway models. The place is huge(but busy) and there are many, many servers, and all of them are distractingly, head-turningly beautiful.

I need to come here a couple more times to be sure about the rating. It is a great looking space with fancy decorations yet with an intimate feel and a lot of good and professional looking staff with nice uniforms. The menu is somewhat similar to Milestone’s or Moxies but with some interesting twists. My friend and I tried the Korean Fried Cauliflower and were impressed. It tasted like chicken nuggets. It could have been a little spicier. My friend ordered fish tacos which she thought were tasty and fresh. I had the salmon rice bowl which was tasty. The rice was very nice– the plump, round and sticky kind. The stir fry vegetables were fine. The wine menu is extensive. There are some interesting cocktails too. Overall, the place has cachet and reminded me of a Joey I went to in Vancouver. It is a notch above the Milestone or Moxie’s in terms of food quality and menu selection. I’ll be coming back. Especially, before catching a movie at the new Cineplex Lansdowne.
