Eat here, it’s good stuff! With no Chipotle in Ottawa you need to have this in your life.

Not a tasty burrito … Mexican food looks simple But getting flavors to blend is more difficult. Food may be fresh but flavour definitely missing

It was just alright. Possibly would go back if in the area and wanted to spend a fortune on a burrito but wouldn’t rush back or recommend it. The guy who made our food was great, super helpful and patient while I tried to decide but the quality and taste of the food for what I paid did not match. Also my burrito was over cooked and finishing it was hard as the wrap part was more burnt than toasted. Also in the drink fridge to the side I noticed a dr. pepper in the back that was open and clearly been drank from. Why is that in there? Is it a staff members? Either way it shouldn’t be in there as I almost reached for it and drank it. Its got a great atmosphere but it just didn’t meet the mark.

The steak burrito and kale salad were delicious, and they can make them as spicy or not as spicy as you’d like. Servers were very helpful as well, would recommend!

Tried it out recently and my burrito was very good. Staff was very friendly. Loved their tomatillo sauce. Only drawback was it was ver hot inside the restaurant. I’ll return for sure.

I came to Burrito Shack about a month ago because I needed a quick bite on my way to a meeting and it was conveniently placed. It’s become a favourite«oh shoot, don’t have enough time to make dinner, better go to Burrito Shack.» I really really like it there. Friendly service, they pack those shells FULL and I’m always stuffed by ¾ the way through a regular size. I like that they have plentiful of options — the mango salsa is amazing, jalopenos, cilantro — I really feel like I can make it my own. I also appreciate that the guacamole isn’t extra if you get a veggie burrito. I know it’s just a fast-food joint, but I feel inclined to give it five stars. I honestly don’t know why people go to subway when there’s options like this.

Yeah, I can get into this. Faux-Mexican is kind of trendy right now, but this place has yet to disappoint me. It’s a pretty simple concept: you essentially build your own burrito(they build it, you choose what goes on it). Select your meats, sauce, misc toppings and they do the rest. It’s not too far off of what Subway does with sandwiches. The meat is all cooked in-house, the portions are decent, it’s a clean environment… what more can you wants? I guess you could want beer, and they actually do serve Beau’s if you stay there to eat rather than take-out. I’m not going to say this is a completely original idea, but for some reason I prefer it to Burrito Gringo.

Burrito Shack just opened a location on Bank St between Second & Third Ave and I was lucky enough to notice. What makes Burrito Shack stand out from Ottawa’s other fast food Tex-Mex locations??? First it’s the menu not only your standard Burrito, Taco, Quesadilla, Nachos but you can get Tostada, Taco Salad, Kale Salad and even Mexican Poutine. Plus they have desserts such as Churro’s & Deep Fried Ice Cream. Second it’s their stand out sauces each made by them I fell for the Smokin Hot which was listed as the hottest for my tastes wasn’t very hot but good flavour. If your interested they sell all 5 of the sauces but don’t take them from each table where they are placed conveniently for your use. Another reason I really enjoyed my experience here was the décor which I found to be very impressive. I believe the table tops are hand made with each top different. It was very easy on walking in to figure out where to start as a well lite sign to direct you. Ordering was made easy by the big screen TVs with each Step listed on how to order. I have a vegan daughter who is very picky and she really enjoyed the Kale Salad. I enjoyed finding a place that I can actually take her to that she will be happy with. I look forward to hearing her name something other then Green Door as a place to go out to. The staff seem friendly enough and as this was Day 1 cutting slack on the preparer not knowing the size of Taco Bowl for the Kale Salad. As well being charged for Guacamole on the vegetarian burrito which should come with it. Also if you want Gluten Free options they offer that as well. Just looking over the menu they take all credit cards and interac. Plus they have kids meals as well. I am giving them 5 stars as I really enjoyed my meal and loved the décor plus the sauces… I will be visiting again very soon.
