The Big H has changed hands. Jimmy, the original owner, has returned to Lebanon and taken his awesome chicken recipe with him! Actually, he told me what it was one afternoon, but sadly I was too busy eating it to write it down. When I heard there was to be new ownership of my second-favourite breakfast joint, I was worried. I saw what had happened to the old KS. Fortunately, my worries were for nothing. Joe, the new owner, has taken the Big H and made it his own. The prices haven’t changed, but the food has gotten a lot better. The carpets were steam cleaned last weekend and the furniture has been repaired. I was always a fan of Jimmy’s burgers, and Joe has taken them and made them better. It’s $ 4.95 for a hand-made all beef bacon cheeseburger with fresh veg on a toasted bun. This isn’t a chic burger with exotic ingredients and a fancy name. This is just a simple, good tasting, no-fuss hamburger. Next on the list…

I went to this restaurant when I was looking something different than Kelsey“s, Montanas or Tim Hortons for lunch. The place is very out-dated but it feels«homey»… they always have specials on the board for $ 7.95(includes the soup and a dessert) so nothing beats that. The quality of the food is ok, nothing fancy…(what do you expect for the price, right?) but is good enough to fill you out and be happy. I would not go here for dinner but for lunch it is a perfect place. I was amazed that they even took my American Express.
